Coppie United States of America, 19 ottobre 2011	Good room and location, annoying elevators Very good breakfast with swell view, location within walking distance of attractions, welcome drink, mini-fridge 7,7 the open cage lifts are historic and fun, but the swinging saloon-type doors try to trap you, coming and going. in our room the bidet was not working and the wifi took a bit of effort to get going. the staff were accommodating when we asked for a late checkout, and the location is ideal for access to shopping, tram transportation, late night cafes, and drinkies liquor store.

Hotel is old but elegant and the old lift is unique but well maintained. Reception is very helpful Sugg. su attrazioni: Location at Mahattah Raml is ideal for easy accessibility by tram and taxi.

But the staff at the reception area was not helpful, they went on chatting and ignored us. We arrived at passed 2pm and had to wait about 30minustes before the room was ready, meanwhile we were trying to have the staff at front desk to help us with writing down some of the site we want to visit in Arabic they did write them, only after their social chit chat. We will not stay here again. poor value for the price

Coppie Australia, 12 ottobre 2010	nice old hotel very central being very central 7 the hotel is very pleasant and central to everything. but again the staff are trying to be very helpful. more like later we asked for toilet rolls and soap and had to wait like 1 hour for soap 2 calls to reception for it to be delivered also messages were left at the desk for us Sugg. sull'Hotel: be patient they do mean well even if they are a bit slow

Location, view from breakfast-room, styling of rooms, size of rooms. 6 Very dark inside - to hide all the carpet stains I think. A sign above the toilet asks one not to flush toilet paper (but to instead deposit the used toilet paper in your trash can). I realize in Egypt some buildings have piping too small to accomodate toilet paper. I have dealt with this. However, to not accomodate the flushing of toilet paper...does not mesh so well with "4 star". Elevator was of an older style (fun), but very slow. $20/hotel elsewhere in the city had the same elevator design - but was fast. Go figure. Location is excellent, as is the view from the room where breakfast is held. Everything else would have been fine in a budget hotel. But not a 4 star.
Robert G. Coppie Canada, 23 maggio 2010	Great value in Alexandria Location was perfect. Half way between everything. Room was clean and well taken care of. Ambience of hotel was very nice and, like everyone says, the elevator was a cool sight to see. 8,7 We looked for a long time trying to find a hotel to stay in while we were in Alexandria and finally decided on Windsor Palace. We couldn't have been happier with the location. The hotel was halfway between the library and the fort, directly on the corniche. It was a 20-30 minute walk from just about everything and the staff was really helpful. If I were to visit Alex again I'd definitely look to stay here. For the money it's a great value. Sugg. sulla cucina: We loved the Mango King that was just down the road towards the fort. Amazing juice and great view. Also, walking the other way, there's a great little shisha bar in front of the library but recessed onto the beach. This was a great place to unwind as the sun went down.

Huge rooms with high ceilings. They have tried to keep the 'old world opulent' style. Good selection at breakfast buffet - especially liked the omelete station. 8,3 Although we enjoyed our stay, we had a few problems. On the booking form I had requested a baby cot for our 9 month old boy. I even phoned ahead before we arrived and was told "yes, yes, yes". On arrival though we were informed no baby cot was available. I made a little fuss the next morning and amazingly a cot was available for our second night. Also, our air-con never worked. We complained to the front desk before we went out in the morning and apparently a service guy worked on it, but it still didn't work the second night. I'm just thankful it wasn't the middle of summer. Despite these things, I would consider this hotel again, provided the room had working air-con.
