No pros! 2,3 when we arrived, we were surprised to know that there's no hot water. after few more hours, there's no more water at all, so we had to use the toilet that the staff also use. the location is very far from the attractions and restaurants. very expensive, but not worth the price. looks very haunted and scary. in one sentence, stay away from this hotel.

Coppie Australia, 10 aprile 2012	Nice Location but hard to get to close to beach and sites 6 we only stayed one night on a stop over. the room was satisfactory. the building has a european feel to it. it would have been good if the staff could speak more english or if we could speak more chinese. they required a yuan deposit on the room which was unexpected. they checked the room carefully for any problems before returning the deposit. on the whole we were happy with our stay, though it could have been better.

Location and price 7,3 location in between the old town and parks so a good balance of nearby palaces to visit. walking distance to most old town attractions and a stone's throw from the beaches. quite a trek to the newer business/bar and club scene including beer st. price quite reasonable but i'm used to ausfralian prices. facilities old building and it shows. evidence of new bathroom renovation which made the stay comfortable enough. rooms are a bit stuffy and tv didn't work but aircon was very good. free internet was a bonus. not much more to say. what you need is there but not anything more. apart from the very old and tired carpet the room was quite clean. service front counter staff were very friendly but little english, not sure if room service is existent. beds were unmade when we got home on the second day. very friendly hotel cat greets you in the corridoors. overall this hotel is more like an excellent hostel or extremely basic hotel. great if your on a budget and young enough to not need anything other then the essentials.

Viaggiatori singoli Hong Kong, 7 gennaio 2012	classical design atmosphere 6,7 the staff are nice and helpful,even there are not much cafe or restaurants around,it quites easy to access and it takes around 10 to 15 mins to reach the beach. It is special which located next to the prison museum and the visitor may to take a look from it.

Viaggiatori singoli Singapore, 15 settembre 2011	A Hotel That Used To Be A German Prison Located Near A Chinese Temple And Sea 5 a hotel that used to be a german prison and located near a chinese temple and sea. there is a prison museum that is partly connected to the hotel. the hotel is unable to view the sea but walking distance to it. the weak point is that the rooms are old and the hotel needs upgrading. it is meant mainly for locals and not for foreigners unless they want to have a feel of the history. there is a museum that is partly connected to the hotel that tells the history. the hotel is friendly and helpful. though two restaurants are located just outside the entrance but not recommended for eating. no one were seen dining throughout my stay.

A historical but nice building 7,7 It's very close to the coastal area which is very convenient to have a 5-10 min walk to the beaches. The staff are able to answer all of my questions and their service is so nice! But the breakfast is far from satisfaction and there are only a few choices for us.

Ten minutes walk to the city, to the train station. Unfortunately there are no nice cafes or restaurants around, even if is this the old part of the city. The stuff is quite friendly, but the rooms are quite old and used. The TV had to be repaired, one light was not working, they give toilet paper only on request, it seems. So don't expect too much. Suggerimento: In the surrounding area of the hotel you will find many sightseeing possibilities, like an old museum or lamp posts. The beach is not too clean, though better if you go out of the city. All in all it is a nice city to walk around and to watch people sunbathing with all their clothes on. Very chinese. And there is a lot of sea food available.

Gruppi Singapore, 14 giugno 2011	Fantastic service, good location Very helpful and friendly staff, good location 8,7 room was a little small, stay was very pleasant overall because of the friendly staff who were very helpful. hotel was also in a good location although the taxi had a little trouble finding it at first. it's not on taiping road per se, but slightly off at the intersection of taiping road and changzhou road.
