Coppie Canada, 27 febbraio 2013	Tranquil (mostly), spacious, rustic elegance Overall peaceful nature, whispering pine trees, clean facilities, restful stay 9 We stayed 4 nights at Gazebo Meno and 3 nights at the Marina Mandarin Hotel in Singapore during the same week. Both were excellent in their own ways. So, no whinging from this Pom. Suggerimento: During the "off-season" getting to and from the Gilis can be a problem due to winds, rain, and waves, which curtail regular boat service. We had to rent a small speedboat to get to Gili Meno, and were taken to the beach directly in front of Gazebo Meno. Snorkelling is also not at its best at this time of the year due to turbid water caused by wave action. On clear days, you can see diverse and plentiful fish species, but the reefs around Gili Meno have been badly damaged, so there is virtually no live coral. Sometimes throughout the night, drumming or base guitar noise intrudes from Gili Trawangan.

Viaggiatori singoli United States of America, 17 febbraio 2013	Getting run-down now Quiet with nice view 7,3 obviously built with an eye toward the higher-end traveler (private safe, small fridge, and well decorated private cottages), the gazebo meno looks like it's being allowed to deteriorate. gili meno island apparently just hasn't 'taken off' the way gilli air and gilli trawagon have. pity, but people are leaving too much trash behind (on all these small islands), and the entire island is a bit sad-looking. also a pity because the beach is nicer than gilli air, which is almost entirely a rocky coral beach. the hotel room was not swept very well when i arrived, and sizing up the situation, i simply borrowed a broom and did it myself (all the staff were men, ahem). otherwise the room was ok, though some might be put off by the 'open' bathroom (walled but with a net overhead). the tv has only one channel (a free english channel anyway). staff were pleasant enough and you do get a welcome drink (iced!) when you arrive. there are 2 porches to relax on. however, it's not well lit at night (nothing is well lit at night on this island) so be sure you bring a flashlight. breakfast was ok - the usual eggs, but while real bread and properly toasted was a treat, the margerine (no butter) wasn't. Sugg. sulla cucina: The restaurant with the most business was the 'Rust' near the harbor - pretty good food and better prices than Gilli Air Island, which I found VASTLY overrated. Meno deserves a better deal, since the beaches are better, though locals need to get serious about litter.
Jeffrey B. Coppie Australia, 23 gennaio 2013	Nice location, friendly staff Friendly staff, relaxing 5,7 If you are looking for a star rating this isn't the place. We live in Bali and are used to travelling 'economy' class but I think the average traveler (not back packer) would be disappointed. The cottages aren't too bad but the grounds and general amenities are pretty poor. The problem with Gili Meno is there isn't much better except for a nice looking resort round the other side of the island. But it only has two rooms and there is absolutely nothing else (eateries etc) in the vicinity. The Rust warung is close to the Gazebo, a great location but the food isn't great. But again there isn't mush else. Bottom line? Been there done that, but wouldn't bother going back. Suggerimento: At time of writing only one of the fastboat services goes to Gili Meno direct, and that one goes via lots of other places so it takes ages. So with all the other fastboat services you have to take another boat from Gili Trewangan to get to Gili Meno, and here you have two options. First and cheapest is kill a few hours in GT then catch the public 'Island hopper' to GM which costs Rp20.000. Second is hire a boat that costs Rp250.000 (with bartering) for the ten minute trip.

Neil J. Coppie United Kingdom, 28 dicembre 2012	Rustic charm Near the beach, peaceful, good staff 7,3 Older style bungalows that have been there since the 80's. The interior has lot's of dark wood and not a great deal of lighting giving it a cosy / dark feeling. Great open air bathroom though. Staff were on hand for any requests. Room was made everyday of our stay. Fresh water from the shower (most places will only have brackish / salty water for showers) plus a complementary drinking water dispenser. Safe, fridge, and satellite TV in the room. Standard but adequate breakfast - Eggs, toast, fruit juice, tea / coffee, plate of fruit. Staff were quick to engage the generator whenever a power cut occurred. Which was fairly often. There are other cheaper hotels with more basic rooms right on the beach but the fresh water / generator / service are a big plus in Gazebo.

Viaggiatori singoli Canada, 14 dicembre 2012	Nice cabins, but watch out for location People are very helpful, funny and joyful 8 arriving at gazebo meno was quite an adventure, trying to pull your suitcases in the sand to the place. only a short walk from the harbor where a boat lets you off. the employees were very nice and helpful. my room or cabin really was superb. it would have slept three people easily. there was air conditiong and a lovely bathroom on the outside half covered and the shower was open to the elements. yes, there was only cold water but in the heat you do not really need hot water. my travel companions did not have as much luck as they ended up at a cabin that must have been close to the sewage system. i personally had a great time. Sugg. su attrazioni: Gili Meno is very small and can be toured in a little over an hour. Snorkelling is always possible but our great impression was meeting the people. If you eat in a restaurant once when you come back they remember you and your preferences.

It is right next to the best beach on the island and at the best snorkeling area. You can see the sun rise on that beach. It's not far from all the restaurants and port. There is no hot water, but that is common on this island. They should also allow more than one user on their wifi network at one time. The staffs were welcoming and helpful. They clean the room everyday without disturbing you. The free breakfast is also pretty good. Sugg. su attrazioni: go snorkeling in the reefs and watch the sun set

Super location at the best beach of Gili Meno, not far from eateries but really silent. One small cons that swimming pool was small and dirty during our stay.

Basic accommodation but it is all you need when staying on Gili Meno - you only go to your room to sleep. There are a few insects (this is to be expected given the island location) so I would recommend taking repellant. Very close to beach & close to the restaurants and convenience stores. Staff are very friendly & eager to help you out. Very pleasant stay.
