If you want a place that is far from the beaten path, this is it. The staff were very nice. Restaurant prices were higher than average. Beautiful views, but not a good swimming or snorkelling beach. Good value.

Fun in the Sun in New Hotel

This was one of the nicest hotels in the area. It is very small, but expanding and the owners are very informative and polite. It is secluded and sets the mood for a time of solitude and reflection. The pool was large and had a separate child's pool. The view was stunning in the evening. It felt like we were in a primitive place, but staying in brand new, state of the art hotel. I would recommend this hotel 100% to anyone looking for a serving, polite staff, great room, pool and views worth a million dollars.

Nice place with swimming pool also for kids with good food beach was just near not the best beach but stil ok I like the bead in the delux room just like home. All in all I have a good stay...

I stayed at the Moalboal beach resort on Friday 5th April 2013 and would strongly recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in a quiet, clean, first class and expertly run resort.
The room we stayed in was a traditional style room, air conditioned, very spacious with an en-suite bathroom. I chose the basic room but was still pleasantly surprised.
The location and views are breath taking, there is a large swimming pool with plenty of sheltered seating areas like little cabanas surrounding the area and you feel very secure there as there is a guard on the gate 24 hours a day.
There is a nice restaurant bar area that serves nice food and the service is superb, nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the owner has lots of time to sit and talk with his guests.
I would stay there again without hesitation and look forward to spending more time there in the near future.
Depending on your budget and needs I would go for a basic standard room, it has a large bed and air con, a must and also cold shower, believe me you do not need a hot shower in this climate. If you want to stay in and watch TV I would choose a different room because there isn't one, but there are plenty of other things to do besides TV right? There is even a pet monkey that belongs to the owner and a little tip he prefers mango to bananas.

It was a great time at this resort.
You can hire scooter for a very good price to get around. It´s located in a quiet but very nice area with green garden and a great swimmingpool with view to the ocean.
You can also rent kayaks to go to the mangroves.
We did also a trip to oslob (very easy to get there by scooter) to snorkel with the whalesharks. That was a great experience.
The white beach is only 2 minutes drive with the scooter. Also you can go to the kawasana falls. a lot of things to do in this area.
The restaurant and bar serves also very good meals and drinks :-)
Thx nikolaus for our private campfire and all the other things you arranged for us!!!
All together we wanted to stay longer but unfortunatly have to go back home.

secluded comfort

my wife and two kids (11 and 13)stayed for two nights. the location is out of the way, nothing close to the hotel...if you need to go anywhere the staff can call a tricycle. the hotel is located in a bay...booked two rooms, one deluxe and one standard ... both rooms look the same...one room had a strong chemical odor--looks like they just finished building the room...problems with electrical surges at night causing a/c to intermittently work...last night of stay we had no water due to a local dispute but resolved in the morning...if you are looking for quiet out of the way place then this is it ....if not then look elsewhere
