Condo living with all the comforts of home.
Great location and beautiful, well maintained grounds

We were very impressed and comfortable with our stay at the Bali Hai Villas. All our needs were covered with plenty of towels and all amenities in the condo. The only thing I would change is the master bedroom bed. The mattress was old and sloping and the bed creaking at every turn. This Washington The Only faktor stopping me from rating this accommodation as perfect.
Staff were pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. I would certainly stay there again.
Suggerimento:
Ask for for a comfy bed in the master bedroom!

Not a hotel, but a comfortable time-share
Ample sized rooms. Well supplied kitchen. Washer/Dryer in units.

We purchased a 2-bedroom condo unit to accompany our 2-bedroom timeshare exchange. This facility is definitely not a hotel, but a timeshare. The staff are all trained in the timeshare experience.
Construction of a new clubhouse closed the larger pool, thereby creating a crowded environment at the smaller pool and jacuzzi. There are no food services on premise. One tennis court was available. Golf courses are nearby.
The units are not air-conditioned, but fans and screen doors allow enough air. The kitchen is stocked with good appliances and servings for eight. The in-unit Washer/Dryer with free laundry detergent is a plus. Sadly, garbage from a previously cleaned unit sat on the bottom of our stairs for more than 1 day, otherwise maintenance seemed adequate.
Although we requested units in the new buildings (bld 16-18) more than 6 months in advance, we were informed by VIP services that no room assignments can be made or guaranteed. When checking in, we asked again for new rooms, but were told building 18 was not available to us. Although our rooms were clean and carpet looked fairly new, the kitchen cupboard dropped in the middle of the night and the shower door fell off. Maintenance was quick to respond. There does seem to be an effort to upgrade the property now that it is under the Wyndham ownership.
As a cautionary note, we learned that Club Wyndham members have highest priority for best room assignments, followed by other time share exchanges, and excess inventory sold as hotel rooms are the last priority.
The Bali Hai Villas have no access or view of the ocean. They are centrally located in Princeville with a short drive to the Foodland grocery. A 10 minute drive takes you to Hanalei with numerous shops, restaurants, and the famous Pier.

Great location, basic design
It is in the heart of Princeville, which is a nice upscale little town. The best thing about this unit is its architectural design - it is very roomie, big enough to sleep 6 people, if you must. Perfect for parents with kids or two couples. Very safe and very clean. They are also generous with towels and cleaning supplies.

On the negtive side, it is not soundproof. You can hear your upstairs neighbors talking, walking, doing laundry, you name it!!! And if they have kids, and the kids start running at 11:00pm, it feels like a herd of elephants are invading your bedroom. Unfortunately, phone calls to the management do not always bring much peace. One time we had to call, and the receptionist called them, and things went quiet after that. But on another occasion, the receptionist said they would see what they could do, and told us to wait for the security patroling the area to eventually come to that corner of the property... Not good. Also, the design is very, very basic. The carpet is old and in dire need of upgrading, the bedding is cheap and worn - looks like it's been used for years in Motel #8. The most annoying thing - huge dusty plastic plants sitting all over the house for the "decoration." So ugly. The kitchen was the most understoked place I've ever stayed in. No small frying pan, for example, and no basic food supplies whatsoever. You would have to run and buy a whole package of sugar or cooking oil, for example. It is such a shame. These beautiful units feel like cheap hotel accomodations, while with some owner's touch they could shine and be really upscale units as they should be. The swimming pool and the hot tub seemed nice, but the water in the pool was freezing cold, and there were about 20 people in the tiny hot tub... it also seemed filthy. There were pieces of hair, food, garbage floating in the water. Yuck! It also seemed unattended. The other pool was undergoing rennovations, but we were not told about it when we booked. Also, no views. The location is quiet, but there is nothing special about it.
Suggerimento:
It is still a good place to stay with a family, but try to stay in the upstairs units, because of the sound issues. Oh, and the "consierge" will keep pushing you to go to a timeshare presentation. Do your own activities and tell them not to bother you. You've got to be kidding - to buy a timeshare with this management!
