Imee L. Coppie Philippines, 18 marzo 2013	Not coming back to this hotel Location. close to tram stop and restaurants. And to entrance of Grand Prix Gate10 4 It was the only available backpacker hotel when we were looking for accommodation for the Grand Prix. we stayed on other backpacker hotel before and they were nothing like Coffee Palace Backpackers Hotel. The room size were ok. But the sheets look like weren't change since the last time someone was in there. The top sheet was like comforter type and I assume they wouldn't change that every 1-2days when someone checks out. the door entrance to 3rd floor was horrible noisy and loud when it slams. Worst part is a couple checked-in to the room next to us..AT 4AM...made a lot of "noise"... And then checked out after an hour. Great.
Erik A. Coppie Sweden, 20 gennaio 2013	Good location. Location. Close to beach and the tram to city centre. 5,7 Rooms were ok. It's lots of youth people staying at the hostel therefore is it much party. So if you like to party and meet up with lots of other people from around the world this is the place for you. Not for you that prefer a quiet and calm place. Linen and towels were a bit dirty.

Squatter buildings are nicer Nothing. 3,3 backpackers hostels may be messy, but coffee palace was indeed a huge mess. perhaps our experience was due because it was saturday night and our mix dorm was right opposite the disco-bar (also dining during daytime). we checked-in and were led to a 6-bed room where 5 people seemed to be living there. living but not cleaning or even having their staff tied. bad smell, knickers + empty bottles + dirty socks + pizza boxes +... on the floor. well, at least we were given clean linen. the bathroom was also dirty full of hairs. no door-lockers. the dining was sticky. imagine the grease from hundreds of customers. there were people cleaning indeed. or at least trying to without success. 'free breakfast' meant you had to ask for the cutlery and plates and then self-service of milk, teabags, and cornflakes. they announce pancakes but unfortunately 'not on sundays'. as said before, the party last till 4am. not just the music was so loud that bother some rooms (we were in #11), but the costumers gave a care about the others: running and jumping on the location (wooden house), yelling, singing, getting in the room + turning the lights on... the party must have rocked! regarding safety, there were lockers but not free. regarding internet connection, not for free. regarding the staff. they were ok, no complaints about them. just it was a misunderstanding because our room had no 2 free beds as we booked and we had to wait a little. nothing really bad actually. i would rather be in a squatter building. i mean, if you know what is all about then you won't complain. not paying a hostel for that mess.
