Good standard at a very good price

We enjoyed the reasonably friendly service, the clean, tidy room (a bit small but well appointed) and the location near shops, restaurants, motorway and public transport. The room was quiet and well-heated. An admin error delayed our check-in , which was frustrating after our long flight, and an item of ours went missing from our room later. The staff were attentive to this and we agreed to the replacement offered to us.

reason we chosed this hotel was because we needed to have conference near by it next day. Tiny room and breakfast was going to cost $35 per person which we thought it unfair for what it was offering. dont think we will go again

Small clean rooms well located for our purposes

Small room/bathroom but we were hardly there so not a problem. Helpful staff, clean rooms and free parking (although very tight parks on first in basis - extra parking available in gate 3 of racecourse but quite a hike dragging bags). Be aware that the street address of Greenlane East does not actually give you access to the entry, you need to drive around the back via Ascot Ave otherwise you can easily find yourself back on the motorway in error. All in all this was good value for money when you just want a place to sleep.

Ibis Ellerslie is situated approx. 20-25mins away from the city centre. The Ellerslie race course is right behind the hotel. The rooms were modern with the basics available in room. Reception staff was very helpful! Plenty of free parking but probably a hotel that you need a car for.

We felt bit peckish and went to the bar after 10pm. We were seated and given the menu. Then we waited and waited and waited...over 15mins later daughter wanted to go back to room. I had to call another waiter to place my order. Considering the price they charge I was not impressed to be made to wait for a long time. The place was not full there were about twelve people who already had drinks and food. Some people were even getting up to get water themselves when there was visibly a waiter there who was not busy. Apart from this incident the hotel delivered to my expectations.
Clean room; with tea, coffee facilities, iron & hairdryer; toiletries topped up on our 2nd day. Sheets and towels were not changed as hotel has a "green" policy of saving water by not washing linen for a short stay (stayed 2nights) so we had same sheets and towel on our second day.

Friendly staff always with a smile on their face. I got married in this hotel and had our reception here as well. Six years later it's great to see the high standards are well kept.
Ibis has the best location as it's close to everything in Auckland - malls, supermarket, airport, city central.
Apart from my "long wait" experience at the bar I have enjoyed my stay. This rating is for my first night stay which differs from my second night. I will definitely stay here again but will not go to the bar.
