Overall was great, except there was only one toilet for 6 people in the 3 bedrooms apartment. The staff was great.

Great location but small rooms

While the motel is very clean and also centrally located, the rooms are rather small. It is ideally for a one or two night stay. The Staff are very friendly indeed and helpful in giving you tips about what to see and do. Unfortunately, the free Internet offered is a joke as the connection is not strong enough. Otherwise, we were satisfied with our stay

Great Motel and very friendly staff

We were guided by one of our friends that staying in Christchurch was a waste of time, if you have vacation and holiday in mind. However, we decided to stay overnight at Christchurch to relax and prepare ourselves for next day 7 Hr. drive to Queenstown. We zeroed down on Bella Vista Motel for our stay as it is a fairly well known motel chain in NZ with presence in almost all towns and cities. It is very well located near CBD. We could park our car right in front of our room and thus we didn't had to carry lot of luggage in the room. However, the room was very small in size as suggested by its name - Compact Studio. that seemed expensive compared to our previous stays in Auckland Rotorua which were at skycity and Novotel. The staff was very friendly and helping in nature.

Avoid Christchurch and you may try small towns instead on your roadtrip. Cheaper and better deals with much better sites could be made in smaller towns near CHC.

easy car park, but not much food options available in the area because of the damage of hte earthquarte.

Many people visited the damage debris of the earthquarte. In fact, it is not a place to go as it reminds many lives that lost in the area. There are some high end fashions in the containers which are built near the earthquarte areas, but I don't think it is really attractive
