02. Leopoldstadt hotels & places to stay

The hotel is not in the city centre, but it's location on the edge of the Danube river makes up for that. We caught taxis a couple of times and paid between 15-20 euro per trip. The food, especially breakfast was amongst the best either my wife or I have had. The staff were super friendly and did everything to make sure our stay would be remembered. I would stay there again in a heart beat.

The staff at Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom Hotel were very welcoming, helpful, efficient and attentive to customers' needs. Dining at the restaurant on the highest level (Le Loft) was memorable; there's such a panoramic view of the area. Food and service were great too. The bed was truly very comfortable such that it was difficult getting out of bed each morning. The only snag was the TV. Changing of channels was painfully slow. On our first night, we had some issues with the TV set. But the hotel compensated for this inconvenience with welcoming drinks for two at the bar which is beside the restaurant at the highest level. This little gesture speaks volume of the hotel's efforts in making customers feel welcomed and valued. There is a steak house called El Gaucho, at the ground level just outside the hotel premise but still within the building. This provides another choice for dining beside Le Loft at the highest level.

Excellent hotel and value! Steps sway from Praterstern station, so easy access to the city's excellent metro system. Retained the standard room, but our bathroom was large and recently renovated-great! Rooms were clean, and sheets and duvet were changed daily (unlike other countries we visited). Superlative breakfast buffet-variety and portions, plus coffee/espresso machine! Other full-service amenities we didn't take advantage of including shoe shine, luggage storage, spa(?)... . Attentive staff, with special appreciation of a very courteous and sweet receptionist; didn't catch her name, but her title included "Dr." . This is a 3-4 star which should be rated over 4 stars! Highly recommended, and we'll return when we revisit Vienna.

We spent Christmas at this hotel together with our three kids, it was great, with pleasant large rooms in which you can find all you needed, the beds were comfortable and the service was nice. Wireless nternet access was free but not available inside the rooms , so the kids had to go down the lobby to log on. But, when we booked online through the Agoda site it wasn't clearly stated that the price didn't include breakfast, so we were surprised to see that in the detailed order they sent us , we got so angry and sent an email to ask for expanation I'm still not convinced with the reply we got, let alone that the price of the meal they requested in the hotel was way too high!!!

This hotel is a real gem. Though the room is small compared to North American standards, it was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bathrooom is quite spacious, with plenty of towels. The best thing about this hotel is its location. Just head out the door, turn left and cross the Danube Canal. You can then access the street that leads right to St. Stephen Cathedral and other major sights.Front desk staff was always helpful. Really enjoyed my stay.

I can only say great things about this hotel. We arrived in the morning and were able to check in immediately. You can park your car in their garage for 16,5€/day (cheaper than on the street). We stayed in tripple room and it was huge (you could easily play Twister in there). Rooms are modern, clean and have a great bathroom. There is also enough space for your stuff (bags, clothes ect.). Breakfast is 5,90€ and they have a wide choice and it's really good. Bar is open all night, it's cheap and staff is the best (very friendly and helpful). Location is good, only 5 min to underground but you can also walk to the centre. When I go back to Vienna, I definitely stay in this hotel.

This hotel is lovely and walking distance to the nearest underground station. There are supermarkets near the hotel and it is also within walking distance to the centre of Vienna. It is a wonderful hotel. The only drawback is that the lights have a set switch off timer and they go off after a certain period. This causes inconvenience when using the shower. Other than this, the staff and friendly and helpful. Especially the elderly gentleman who works during the night and the young boy who is at reception during the morning. You guys are simply the best. You work in a professional manner and deserve the honor and respect of making such a hotel a welcoming place to stay. Paying for the internet of 3 Euros per day at the hotel wasnt a problem as the internet was fast and had no problems. I will definately come back again. Thank you to the elderly gentleman and the young boy for making my stay a very memorable and satisfying. Thank you Agoda for helping me find a suitable lovely hotel.

This is a good clean hotel, with great rooms, friendly staff and a good buffet breakfast. The location is good too. Food outside of breakfast is pretty poor though. Also, if you are a 'business traveller', the hotel was hopeless as their interenet access was basically non-functional. The 'wireless internet freely avaialable on business floors' just did not work and was not fixed during my stay. I was advised to use the 'business centre' - 1 very slow PC with the date set 5 days in advance - therefore unable to use it to book anything happening before 5 days ahead. The date was set by the PC 'administrator' and therefore could not be changed by the user. The 'admnistrator' did not show up during my stay. This really ruined my stay in this hotel - I was stuck because of the volcanic ash problem, with no functional way at the Lasalle Hotel to make alternative travel arrangements.

I stayed here for 5 nights and, for the most part, I was very satisfied. The hotel is in a quiet location, just a 10 minute walk from central Vienna and an even shorter distance to trains, bus, and bike share. The hotel is in excellent condition -- clean, comfortable beds, adequate shower, etc. The only complaint I have is that the wifi only worked for 3 of the 5 nights during my stay. This was because the router needed to be refreshed each morning, but the receptionist was unwilling to refresh the router over the weekend. I completely understand how frustrating wifi problems can be for the front desk, but it would have been helpful if they could have turned the router on/off after it failed to connect. Other than this, no complaints and I would certainly stay here again on my next trip to Vienna. NB: Take the airport bus to Schwedenplatz. From there it is only a 7 minute walk to the hotel.

very nice hotel. staff were friendly & accommodating. they even upgraded our room. breakfast were delicious and they even sent us some food the following day to bring in our travel because we checked out very early in the morning. location was near metro stations just a few meters away and just one ride from the airport. i will definitely promote this hotel to others and will go back once we have the chance to travel again in the future.

Hotel Adlon is a quite typical Austrian hotel. It is located near to the city center on a quite street, safe but not too good location. The public transportation - metro, street car and buses stop nearby which provide good access to sightseeing, shopping and business location. Parking is not easy, but there is a parking lot in walking distance. The hotel is very clean, well maintained. Good bed, proper bathroom, good linen, pillows, towels etc. The buffet breakfast is excellent, tasty, wide selection of products.

If you are an independent traveler, this place is perfect. Close to 2 subway lines. Took less than 15 minutes door-to-door to get to State Opera area. Apartment was very clean and spacious (I was staying in Comfort 1 bedroom apartment). Super close to Billa supermarket. Only a short walk to Spar supermarket and an Asian supermarket. I felt safe walking in the area even at night. The staff Philomena and Sabina at service desk were excellent. Emails before and during my stay were always promptly replied. I missed the phone ringing and they even delivered my package to the door. Just be alert of the email they sent out shortly before the start of your stay. it includes a detailed description of the location where you can pick up your keys if you arrive off hours. I saw a newly arrived couple looking lost in the lobby area and I had to point them to the location.

Address given for hotel was Armezhoferstrasse 9. We arrived here but it turned out to be a private apartment block. Luckily the residents there were kind enough to call a number to get us to Reception. Reception says to go to Volkerstrasse 14 to collect the keys. Walked 20 mins to this place to collect the keys but it turned out the hotel was at Volkerstrasse 14! So back again to Armezhoferstrasse 9 to collect our luggages and back to Volkerstrasse 14. LOST 2 WHOLE HOURS DUE TO THIS MESS UP. I hope you take note of this to ensure this does not happen to other travellers. Furthermore this hotel is much further from the subway that was originally shown on map! I felt deceived.
