Kitchen has become more comfortable, groceries, 10meters away. Beds are separated from Toilet area, through a wall. Luggage lock cages available, more place to sit. Better than Laim.

Walking distance from the festival. Drinks and music in the lobby after all the tents close at the festival! Very clean and nice people.

Great, just one thing to note”
Friendly staff, great facilities and no problem with check in. However, the location is on a very busy street next to the train station. So, at night you will get crowds of people gathered outside the place chatting loudly until very late hours. If you get assigned a room that faces the road, then this will become very frustrating when trying to sleep. When it’s warm the only way to cool the room is to open the window, but then you get all the loud noise which makes it difficult to fall asleep. Both nights we had a group of people drinking and talking until about 1:30-2am. That is my only complaint because we were situated facing the busy road.

I guess A&O has 2 hostel in Munich. The other one is near by the central train station I guess. This one is a bit old and the lock of the door is broken. So we have to go and ask reception again. Elevators are a bit dirty. Overall it is good to stay for short term.

Staff are not professional ”
Very bad staff ..Some are good but some doesn't care .. i had an uncounter with Lyn who is very unprofessional.. she told me i can't stay more than 2 weeks in this hotel and she told me it's not a house..i don't understand the logic if a guest pay to stay ..

Decent location, being modernized, but horrible upkeep”
I blindly booked this spot due to my enjoyable experiences in other a&o properties. The desk staff here are great, but this location has a long way to go before it matches my great experience in Frankfurt. This is two differing buildings merged together so the whole layout is disjointed and confusing. The newer half of the building is actually pretty decent; they got rid of the balconies, (found in their street view photo) and expanded the rooms to add a little seating area, and updated the bunks to the newer a&o standard bunks which are decent (though annoyingly have flaky USB ports instead of a 220v power point). Unfortunately, all the creature comforts lose out to the extremely lackluster cleanliness and overall vibe. The common area restrooms have the "cleaned by __" checkmark but the flushless urinals have such a strong ammonia smell that you'll cough if you breathe it in. Soap wasn't available in the kitchen or bathroom the entire time I was there (had to resort to using my hand sanitizer). I was in my room for 4 nights and despite lots of turnover in the room, nobody came and tidied up. The bunk above mine had ramen noodles everywhere, and my bunk was so dusty that I could cause clouds if I swiped across it (discovered when getting rid of the ramen noodles on my bed). I like a&o hostels, but I was extremely disappointed by this property. It has great promise, a&o just needs to hire more folks for the housekeeping crew and add more security cameras to aid in ejecting bad actors (there's apparently an issue with people sneaking around and stealing food/valuables). To their credit, they have onnsite security in the evenings.

This is the biggest hostel with a building on its own since my travels. Quite near to train about 20min walkg. There are some renovation going on currently. But it didnt bother me in my room. Overall not bad!

Cheapest place in Munich. But quite ok”
Not the best, but well worth it. Very nice staff, ok rooms, little balconies. One thing I hate about a&o is the no sheets policy. You have to pay extra 3.5 euros for basic a thing like sheets and pillow case.

Cheap, central, 1 km from ZOB, the central bus station. Can't complain as Asian hostels cost more and facilities and services not comparable. It's a myth Asia is cheaper!

only one check-in counter staff was available on the day i checked in. there was a long queue and waiting time was about 40 minutes. toilet had no soap available and no fans were provided during a heatwave
