On arrival I discovered that what I requested in the Agoda request box was TOTALLY ignored and I wasn’t informed. This made a huge difference for me as I couldn’t stay there the first night but the next day it was rectified. I still had to pay for first night!

Stayed there for less than 8 hours. I was only there to catch a flight. But they were helpful since I got in late and after the help of someone to call them, they got me a key to my room. Very helpful.

Pros- easy friendly check in Excellent staff Very clean Large room with lots of light. Large bed Very comfortable bed Cosy garden area for breakfast or coffee Close to supermarket Close to bus Quiet area Cons- no air conditioning just a small fan and couldn't leave window open due to outside access to the windows No fridge, it was very hot during our stay and there was no where to keep drinks cool. Extremely small bathroom Limited hot choices for breakfast, no bacon, sausage, mushroom, tomato just scrambled or boiled eggs for hot choices and limited bread, no grains, rye or wholemeal just white.

Good location, basic amenities”
This hotel has some great points, and some not so great points, and most of these depend on what you are looking for. Room size was very large, and the room itself was nicely furnished, with a fairly comfortable bed. It's not a great hotel for hot weather, the rooms have a tendency to get very hot. The staff were OK - they answered questions, but there was a lot of variation in the interest they displayed, from enthusiastic to disinterested, it depend on which staff member you got. Location is difficult to comment on - for me, it was 5 minutes from work, and had plenty of good places to eat within 5-10 minutes walk, plus there's an Aldi across the road for buying water, fruit and that sort of thing. However, the hotel is not close to the centre of Berlin, so may not suit everybody.

Good location, large rooms”
This was my second time in this hotel. It's very convenient for me as it's close to the place where I work. It has an Aldi directly opposite, a bus stop close by, and is 10-15 minutes taxi from Tegel. The rooms are quite large, if a little dated in their design. The worst thing about the hotel, though, is the "free wifi". Although I like using this hotel, I do think it's a bit misleading that they claim to have "free wifi". The wifi they provide for free barely works, it's constantly disconnecting, and is incredibly slow. If a person needed to use it for something urgent or important, it simply wouldn't be satisfactory. The last time I was there, they offered an alternative that cost 6€ per day, and if a person really needed wifi, then this is what they'd have to use. I think the hotel should rethink their wifi policy - either make it clear that a person needs to pay for it, or provide the better service and increase the daily rate. What they're doing now is just misleading.

Big Rooms but basics missings”
We had a lovely big room at the Alfa hotel, but there were some basics missing. The Negatives 1- there was no mini-fridge 2- the fan provided was too small to cool our room down 3- the bar facilities close very early 4- Wifi is very slow, even for the paid subscription. Positives though 1- There is a small rooftop with seats and a table to hang out at. 2- Loads of late-night small stores are around the hotel 3- Close to transport and supermarket 4- The bed was comfortable

6th floor”
I don’t want to leave negative review for the whole hotel, but my room on the 6th floor was not acceptable First, when I walked in thought - wow, cute and modern ... but, Internet on the last floor was not acceptable (I had to work that day) and when I went downstairs got upgraded hotspot but it also was super weak. Second problem, room was super cold (my stay was in January) and there was no thermostat. I adjusted the temperature on the ‘heaters’ but it took until the morning to bring temp up. So, half of the night I was freezing near the room doors (only place with reachable internet). Slept under 2 covers (thanks god, I was the only traveler in 2 people bed, had 2 covers). Also beds - not sure if old, but super uncomfortable, felt like many many people slept on it (soft beds). So, booking budget hotel near the airport cost me sleepless night in the cold room and not being able to work remotely (Internet).

Ich bin so froh, dass ich mich für dieses Hotel entschieden habe. Sehr nettes Personal, super Frühstück und ein großes, sauberes Zimmer mit Bad und einem Tv. Ich finde das Verhältnis von Preis und Leistung ist enorm. War schon lange nicht mehr so zufrieden mit einem Hotel. Es liegt zwar nicht direkt in der Innenstadt aber mit den Bussen kommt man sehr schnell und gut überall hin. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt :D

Beware bottled water in the room Very expensive. ”
Receptionist pointed out that the water was not free as with most hotels but €4.50 is ridiculous. So we went across the road and bought ours before we moved into room. No English speaking channel on the TV not even CNN . BUT THE RECETION WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGEABLE . Worth going to just don't drink the bottled water.

Cheap Price, Bare Minimum Room, Mediocre Location”
The hotel was fine. Make sure you aren’t trying to check in between 10pm and 6am because the desk closes. We didn’t have this problem because we read the fine print, but another guy trying to check in late wasn’t so diligent. Front desk staff was nice and even let us check in a bit before our scheduled time. The location is okay. Close to a bus/tram stop, but still at least 30 minutes to the center touristy things. Still it’s walkable to restaurants, stores, and pubs. Place was clean. No AC in the room. Shower is TINY. Only toiletry provided is soap.

Great value n lovely hotel”
Very clean n tidy...staff helpful...good location near shops n bus stops for all the tourist stops .... Coffee shops n restaurants near by n Aldi across the road... Room was spacious...nice shower.. Only downside.......no tea making facilities n no reception staff after 10.30...so if late flight or delayed you can't get it!!...make sure you either have phone to ring them for a code to get in or make arrangements before hand Would definitely stay again!!!
