Very close to Central Street”
My stay at the Bremen Holiday Hotel Harbin was very good. The hotel is located near to Central Street which is the main shopping area of Harbin. It will take you about 15 min to walk from Central Street back to the hotel and vice versa. The room has a heater and hot shower which is very necessary during winter. However, wifi is not available in the room except for broadband internet access.

this hotel is a good option for people not too concerned with staying in at the big chain hotels, which by the way are not up to standards like in other cities. this hotel had nice rooms..of course not luxury but it was vey and clean. the staff was friendly. viki the sales mgr, speaks fluent english and is very accommodating. english for rest of staff is limited, but this is the same all over harbin. the hotel is two blocks for. the holiday inn which our friends stayed in ....horrible there btw. the hotel is close to the main walking/ tourist street. we got a great deal here. breakfast was not included in our deal , mix of chinese and western food. restaurant tatoc on this streetis great for food. other tip, on the walking street try the famous milk ice cream is 5rmb and it's deelish, you can arrange a driver for ice fair and tiger zoo visits here too. we got the driver for 480 a person (6ppl) bargain hard. - including driver fee and all tix for both tigers and ice fair. went to tigers in morning from 930 to 12:30 and the. got picked up again at 4 to go to ice fair. we actually went to the shangri la for a hot pot lunch in the ice place they have.. highly reccomended. then the f driver picked us up there. best option. all in all we were vey happy at this place. for the girls bring shampoo and conditioner ! they don't have samples. but that's it. oh also, the bed is hard but this is typical in china , we just put the two extra blankets under the bed sheet and it was fine. you re so exhausted for. the walking in the cold anyway....

Great value for clean, large sized rooms”
For the price paid, the suite was a great value for such a nice sized room. The breakfast room/lounge is nicely decorated and has comfy seating. The staff were all friendly, especially the wait staff in the lounge/bar area: We had purchased the traditional Harbin Sausages and bread for a quick lunch from an outside shop and wanted the sausages warmed up for us so we could eat in the room. The wait staff happily obliged and told us that we could eat the food in the lounge as long as we bought a drink. As we did not have plates/cutlery in the rooms, we were grateful for the offer. As with anywhere in China, a small tip goes a long way. There were only two things that I could complain about: 1) The king sized bed was actually 2 twin mattresses put together, and they were both pretty hard. The hard mattresses are not uncommon in China, but I expected different from an international hotel. 2) Not a big issue, but there was a gap (broken seal) between the tub and the wall which leaked water all over floor whenever the shower was used. Seeing as this could be fixed easily with some caulk/silicone, I don't understand why it hasn't been taken care of. I would recommend this hotel to any tourist visiting Harbin.

Good budget alternative if the Ibis is full”
We booked late for Harbin and the choices of hotels were very limited. I don't like local hotels so after seeing the Holiday Inn and Ibis were full i was looking for a more western friendly alternative. The Bremen was clean, basic, good room size with wonderful heating and walking distance to restaurants and convenience stores. The English at the front desk was limited but they tried hard and were always very friendly. I would stay here again if the Ibis was full - it think that has a better location and standard of room for a similar price, but I'm very happy with the Bremen.

We had a great stay in Bremen holiday hotel. Special thanks to the reception staffs who were helpful and provided all assistant we needed. The room was not so big but enough for 3 of us, bed is soft and bathroom is clean. 9 rmb can bring you to train station. 5 minutes walk to Sofia church.

Only in Harbin for one night, we found this hotel quite alright for the price. We didn't spend much time here though, just a few hours in the early morning when we checked in after our train arrival and then returning late at night, leaving early the next morning. Didn't use any facilities of the hotel but was a comfortable night with no disturbances. When we were checking out the desk received a phone call to ask whether we had forgotten a hat, impressed on how quickly we were informed! Only a couple of blocks to walk to the St Sophia Church and Zhong Yang Pedestrian street.

walking distance to central city”
Bremen is an older style hotel yet is clean and comfortable to stay at. Although the room was a little hot opening the window soon brings it to a good temperature and the bed is relatively comfortable. Also the shower was great after being out in the very cold temperatures. There was no fuss made about things and the staff were friendly and helpful. It is in a good location and the city attractions can be walked to. It takes about half walk down the tourist lane to get to the river attractions. Overall a good experience.

Breman hotel is pretty known by taxi drivers, so it’s not hard for you to get there from airport. The hotel location is ok. You only need to walk 10minutes to get to city center such as St. Sofia Church, etc (if you don’t mind walking in -29° weather). The room is clean and nice HOWEVER the hallway lights and elevator definitely need some change. It was kind of scady. The walls are thin so be prepared hearing talks or children screams in the other side of the room. The staffs were ok, not fluent at speaking english. I personally wouldn’t stay in this hotel if I ever visit Harbin again.

Good location”
This hotel location is quite nice! We can get to Harbin Main street by walk around 10mins. Harbin station is also close to this hotel. The room is not bad but we can not control the air conditioner in the room. So that, we feel cold sometimes. The breakfast is not good.

It locates to the city centre of Harbin, close to the historical church and the most famous pedestrian mall Centre Avenue, yet it hides in quiet side street. The heater is very effective and can be ajusted the temperture to suit you especially in -36 degrees in deep winter. The hot water system is very good. The decoration is a bit old, all in all, it is good value of money.

Expensive, needless luxury, excitingly cold city”
Plane was late, so my scheduled 2 night stay turned into only one night, although bill was not adjusted accordingly. Staff could have made some kind of adjustment but they didn't. Harbin temperature was -22degrees C, extremely cold but thrilling experience. Warmth of room was well received! Breakfast was good but was not included in my bill so it was expensive. I located the high speed internet cable shortly before I left - would have been better stay if I had known about it earlier. Tub in bathroom - unusual for China. Bed was much too high off the ground so it was uncomfortable to sit on. The bed itself was comfortable, but why it needs to be so high I don't understand. I'm not a luxury person, so this type of room is unnecessary for me. Long walk in the exciting but bitter cold to Zhaolin Park, about one mile, was for photography purposes. Ice sculptures were outstanding. As cold as it was, it was a great experience being in Harbin in the winter.

Friendly, cozy hotel close to Cantral Walk”
This was a cozy and friendly hotel convenient to Sophia Church, Central Walk, the riverfront and the train station. If you like to walk, you can easily walk to all of these locations from the hotel. It is about a half hour walk through Central Walk - pedestrian street to the many activities on the river. This was quite fun to see ice skating, tubing hill, horse carriages etc. The hotel was warm (too warm at night) and friendly. However, I don't think anyone spoke any English and communication might be difficult with out Chinese. The breakfast was just OK. There is an excellent restaurant right at the corner 10m from the hotel. I would stay here again as it is a very good value and my 13 year old daughter and I were quite comfortable. The staff were not always able to answer questions even though between my daughter and I our Chinese is very good. I arranged a tour with a woman in the hotel and would never do that again. It was a rip-off with a not very good van. Awkward arrangements - we had to follow our non English speaking tour guide to see the price of entrance fees and then go to another location where she got some kind of a discount but did not pass it on to us. However, this did not overall detract from our stay at this hotel.

Comfortable warm hotel near the city center”
Really most things about this place are very nice. Two negatives to watch for, it is a western style hotel so many taxi's wait outside to give you a ride but then overcharge the fare. Walk a few blocks away from the hotel then grab a cab. Second the restaurant has a western menu but most of the food is "out of stock" so I imagine they only serve two things and added the menu for appearance sake.

Not a good choice...”
I travel a lot all over China and neighbouring countries and stay in different types of hotels. I was definately dissapointed from this one! We were lucky we had only booked one night there. We didn't really have great expectations but what I can hardly find any positive thing to say about this hotel, appart from the fact that it is in a very convenient location. Check-in took for ever, they were unable to find our reservation and we were loosing holiday time waiting in the lobby... When we finally entered the room, the smell from the toilet was unbearable! We tried to cover every open pipe&keep the toilet door closed all the time, but you can't imagine how bad it was! The room wasn't really warm in such a cold city, we had to use the second bed cover available, which seemed as if it hadn't been washed for ever... Especially at night, it was cold! No reall help was offered when we were asking for suggestions on how to go to the main touristic attractions like the Ice and Snow Festival place, the Taiyangdao or the Siberian Tiger Park, they kept saying it was too far and we would have big problems finding a taxi back, which was not the case! When we asked for recommendations on a restaurant, the staff was insisting ALL restaurants of Harbin were already closed a little before 9, as it was apparently too late to find anything to eat! Of course all communication was in broked chinese, as nobody was speaking english, but this is something we always expect in China. Next morning, they were insisting on us paying for the breakfast, although we booked a room including breakfast. They were not letting us start breakfast untill I went to the reception, who also insisted we booked withought breakfast, although the agoda voucher clearly said breakfast included! After strong discussions they finally admitted the obvious! Anyway, it serves no purpose to continue, I guess it is clear that we wouldn't recommend staying to this hotel.

Nice location and convenient to downtown”
We traveled over to the Harbin Ice World and spent the night in this hotel. Older hotel but it was clean and neat. Staff was friendly and helpful. Taxi to the airport takes about 45 minutes.

Not so good”
The hotel is quite old. We were in Harbin for the spring festival so all hotels were overrated. We paid for breakfast and the service was terrible. There was no food at all, it took 15 minutes to refill the coffe, same for the juice and milk.

Charming hotel with friendly staff”
The hotel showed some signs of wear, especially the room, but by all means acceptable and clean. The staff were very friendly. I do speak a little Chinese, but some of the staff spoke very good English. In a lounge adjoining the reception complimentary tea, coffee,some cakes and fruit were served - for me a very nice place to spend a little time after checking out and waiting before going to the railway station. The location of the hotel was very convenient, not far from the railway station, a short walk from the Zhongyan Street. To conclude - I really enjoyed my stay.
