Charlottenburg hotels & places to stay

Loved my stay there. Everything was great, cleanness, location....There is no a con side really...,just to mention that I missed most the coffee/tea making facilities in the room. Lately many hotels are having them, and I have become accustomed to the convenience....The management should consider them....I would mention a couple of other things that I was surprised, not bothered, I consider them not important, but the management might want to have a look into them : Some of the channels on the TV did not work good , not even the INFO channel....(in the center of Berlin, wow???/!!). ,,,there is a lack of information about the hotel in the room (only room service)., and the amount of toiletries... is surprisingly minimal for a 5 star hotel. I would consider Bristol next time I plan a trip to Berlin.

H10 Berlin met all our expections and more! I have been traveling for over 40 years and always stay in four or five star hotels in Europe. The customer service at this hotel was one of the best I have ever experienced. Rooms were totally quiet, very clean, and quite large. The hotel looks exactly as pictured on the web. I would definitely stay here again if I were to return to Berlin.

friendly staff at the reception. very helpful in advising me on everything from tour packages to international calls to "how to take the train" to locations of the best clubs in town. i took the single room which was very basic (had mini fridge but no kettle). very small bed, average size room and bath. very clean, housekeeping did a good job everyday. i had a problem with the telephone and tv in the room. hotel staff immediately responded to the report and fixed it within the hour. walls are quite thin. i could sometimes hear my neighbours talking but it wasn't loud enough to interrupt my sleep. wifi is slow at times but no problems getting connected any time of day.

Staff at the hotel was friendly and very professional. Hotel California is closely located to u-bahn stations (Savignyplatz and Uhland-str), Ku De Wa shopping mall, the Berlin Zoo and the museum of the story of Berlin. You can get to these places by walking for about 5 to 10 minutes. It is right in the middle of a lively shopping district so you will be spoilt for choice when you want some retail therapy. It generally feels quite safe even at night. We also loved that there were numerous local restaurants nearby that we could dine at. We enjoyed a variety of cuisines at affordable prices. If you are staying at Hotel California, we would strongly encourage that you explore the Savignyplatz area and its restaurants. Its a little dark at night but don't be discouraged by that. The restaurants around that area are worth it. Also, just next to Hotel California is Haagen Daz. Its a great treat to enjoy after along day of shopping and sight seeing in Berlin. We also liked how staff placed and constantly replenished a tray of Spekulatis at the foyer. It makes for a great welcome when you are come back to the hotel. The room was also very comfortable and clean with a very well working heater. We live in a tropical city so we are a bit afraid of the cold, especially at night. The toilet was luxurious decorated with granite tiles and a comfortable bath tub.

Decided to book hotel the morning I was due to fly to Berlin for three days rather than stay on the floor of friends! AGODA, as ever, came up with an great number of choices, and Econtel Hotel Berlin Charlottenburg was the nearest and most reasonable to my friends. Wonderfully situated, within easy reach of buses and U-bahn, lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Very efficient and friendly staff when I arrived near midnight because of delayed flights! I recommend and WILL return.

Before making a decision about booking this hotel, my premonitions were mixed up. Unfortunately, this hotel has a lot of very bad opinions, but in spite of this I was persuaded by friends who spent many nights in this hotel. Pros of the hotel: Location: The hotel is located in the best possible place of Berlin - Kurfuerstendamm - it is a street full of exclusive boutiques as we came for shopping. The famous Christmas market is 4-5 minutes, while KaDeWe centre is 10 minutes from the hotel - it is a center with exclusive boutiques. The design of the hotel: I've stayed in a lot of places but this hotel has one of the best interior decor I've ever seen - the lobby is amazing. The restaurant and club downstairs also deserve 10/10 for the design. Rooms: They are small, those with a view at patio are larger about 6 square m, but they do not have a view... Breakfasts: I judge it worst 6/10, if the place itself is beautiful, the choice of what we can eat is average. Cons: The only downside is not quite professional service in the club and cleaners entering the room before leaving it. I will definitely come back to this hotel. Room Tip: In my opionion better are rooms with a patio view. On the lower floors 1st and 2nd the rooms are biger

First I got the standard room which smelled like somebody smoked in it so I complained at the reception and right away got another room which was super roomie. The rooms are nice and new. The bathroom is build with high quality parts, really nice. The staff helped wherever they could, reception was 24h helpful. We didn’t book breakfast but once the breakfast is finish they offer the small pastries at the reception to take away for free which is super awesome. They don’t have a parking garage right at the hotel but there is free parking on the street in front and we always found a spot easily. Really good value for the money.

Our stay was excellent. The majority of the staff speaks English, and those who don't are patient with broken German. :) The hotel itself is clean and has great, classic style, though its an older building that may not be accessible-friendly for guests in wheelchairs. The breakfast buffet offers great variety, but is pricey at 9 euro per guest per day. I recommend opting out of breakfast at the hotel, and grabbing some coffee and food at any one of the many cafes nearby for a fraction of the cost.

Leonardo hotel is in walking distance to subway station and pedestrian zone with some low level shops. Easy access to the city center in west berlin and the charlottenburg palace for sightseing. Flatscreen tv and clean facilitues even though the rooms are a bit small for two ppl and two singlee mattresses are pushed together to make up for a queensize bed. Overall recommendable hotel at that price in the berlin city center.

This was a great place to stat as it was easy to find. There is a subway right next to the hotel ( U) , the S is also close and the bus from Tegel airport is a couple of minutes away. There are also lots of shops around in case you need something and many food stop if you get hungry. I did like the fact that the reception was on 7th floor and that there is a special lift only for the guest. We felt pretty safe as not everyone can go in and out of the hotel. The staff kept changing but were all very nice and friendly and spoke all English. For the room, it had a nice bathroom, water pressure was strong and warm. The beds were comfy and clean and there was even a little candy pack to welcome us. It was a bit warm in the room , so we just opened the window to freshen the room. The tv only had German channels. Even though the hotel is situated in a very busy spot, it was never too noisy and we slept well and felt safe. Would definitely come back here!

I was very pleasantly surprised by how new, clean, slick and spacious my standard studio was! The location is prime, it's right on 2 U-Bahn lines, 20 minutes from Tegel airport, under 10 minutes from Berlin central bus station (ZOB). It is at a nice residential neighborhood, with lots of supermarkets, cafes and restaurants options. Charlottenburg Palace (garden) is not too far away and makes a perfect afternoon/early evening walk. The rooms are modern in style, minimalist in appearance but also fully equipped, the kitchen has everything from pans, plates to salt and pepper. It feels cozy, casual and intimate, perfect for couples, family with young kids or single travelers. Highly recommend!

+ 2 minutes from the S-Bahn station Berlin-Charlottenburg, 3 mintues from a bus stop which has a direct connection to TXL in 20 minutes. + spacious room - very crowed luggage storage room at the rear of the hostel, sometimes need to wait a while before the staff has time to walk down and open the room for you - WC/shower not necessarily close to the room - kitchen facility not opened to guests

The hotel location is great and staff super friendly and helpful. I think this hotel is perfect for a couple without kids. We struggled a bit with the kids since the lift could only take one of us with 1 pushchair but we had 2 pushchairs. Even with big or more luggage you may struggle. Also the soundproof is not great. I could hear the person next to my room snorring all night. So I am sure other guests could hear my baby crying too. But in general it’s a nice hotel and great location.

A very comfortable hotel close to Kurfurstendam and close to everything really. Clean room and fairly big for this price. Very quite even though my room was facing the local street.The hotel is situated on a small street a few yards away from the famous Kurfurstendam street. Extremely convenient location. Breakfast was included in the price. The buffe breakfast was a real treat, nothing was missing on the breakfast table. You name it everything was there. This breakfast makes every morning to something special. If you are looking for a decent hotel

This hotel is right next to the zoologisch garten station for the S and U Bahn and many buses such as the X-9 that goes to Tegel airport directly! There is also a supermarket super close by and lots of food places and the shopping area! The hotel is easy to find with a nice view. Do check out their rooftop terrace. The shower pressure is good and the rooms are clean. It would have been even better if there was a fridge and a boiler in the room. You can actually even open the windows and there is even airco available in the room too. The staff during the day shift are usually friendlier and nicer than the night shift, but still provide good service. You can even buy the Berlin welcome card and other tickets at the reception which is great. And you can also leave your luggages if needed. Aletto hotel has all the basic necessity and is situated in a good area close to transport and shopping in Charlottenburg! Thanks again for the good service.

This hotel is massively over priced for what it offers! I travel to Berlin quite often to visit my aging parents and have stayed in a variety of places, so I am judging by comparison to other experiences. The staff were pleasant enough, but the room (twin) was so small that I had to move furniture around to open the window. For a hotel in this price range, there was no tea making facilities in the room, and for me, the final insult, after paying all that money, was to have to pay an extra 5e in order to use the sauna which I assumed was included in the price and was one of the reasons I booked. Far better value to be found in this lovely area of Charlottenburg in Berlin.

This used ot be a much smaller hotel. We have been staying at this hotel since 2001 whenever we are in Berlin which is usually at least twice per year. Staff can be a bit brusk, but when it comes to helping you with any problems you may have; we have found them to be really helpful. Staff at breakfast are really friendly and the food choices is really the best I have found in Berlin, in all the years I have been using hotels in what is a beautiful city. I have had some booking problems in the past, and found the staff on my arrival to be superb in resolving them. This has been due to errors made by the companies I have used to place my internet booking.

Unfortunately we were only in Berlin for 2 days, and there to see Pearl Jam play at Waldbühne, so time was limited. The location of the hotel meant that as well as being handy for the gig, we were walking distance away from Berlin Zoo, the Tiergarten, vast amounts of history and culture, and some great food and beer. The hotel is in a beautiful building with many original features. Staff were very friendly and humoured me by letting me practice my German, despite all speaking great English. Room was clean and comfortable, although air-con, or even a fan would be good. Cheap, secure parking directly opposite. Great value and would not hesitate to re-book the next time we visit Berlin.

Positives: Good value! Good location to underground and buses 100 and 200, and some local sites (zoo, ruins of stunning Kaiser church tower, Katte Kolwitz Gallery), lots of local restaurants.. Comfortable room, though the single is not like those published, it’s quite tiny and basic, excellent shower, very quiet (I was on the upper floor), very good German breakfast with lots of choice though big groups may make getting to the buffet challenging at times, though most times fine(after 08:30). Negatives: Reception staff can be a bit grumpy, though they usually warm up with time. Ignore Agoda’s advice that electronic proof of booking is fine, the hotel expects printed voucher (I managed to email it to them in the end). The hotel is on the 4th floor, the lifts run between floors so expect some stairs.
