" My spouse and I stayed at Fort Barli one night during our two week stay in India. It is a wonderful change of pace from the rest of the tourist cities one sees in India. The village surrounding the fort is very small and is like going back in time. The Fort however is very comfortable and allows you the experience of living like a Maharaja. The fort is over 350 years old, but is being lovingly restored by descendants of the family. Wifi does not work in the room, but works just fine at the reception area where you can sit and watch parakeets and squirrels that live in the historic neem tree in the courtyard. The pool looked inviting, but we did not go in. Breakfast was a nice variety of fruit, breads, jams, and eggs to order. Dinner was traditional and very tasty Indian fare, but not spicy --probably to accommodate tourists. They do serve food during mid day for an additional charge. The hotel staff was very friendly and many of them sp"
