"New hotel complex in a busy area with large rooms (for a new hotel) tea/coffee making facilities, large firm but comfortable enough double bed, several comfortable pillows, bedside tables, 1 chair, a long bench seat, plenty of bench space, small flat TV screen with 3 English speaking channels, airconditioned but not heated and free slow WIFI in the room. Ask for a quiet room if desired. Staff spoke English and were efficient. Clean small bathroom with large shower, soap, shampoo and shower gel but no hand towels. Good location just outside Barcelona. Be aware that there is a hotel with the same name in another part of Barcelona. "

"I love the neighbourhood Hotel Golden Tulip is located at. It is quiet yet it felt safe to be there. A couple of good restaurants, cafes within walking distance as well as the local grocery store where we could buy lovely fresh fruits, water etc. The subway takes about 5-8 minutes walk and is about 3-5 stops from the main tourist areas of Barcelona. Subway is very efficient; a train comes every 2 minutes or so. The Hotel is about 20-30 minutes walk to the beach with wonderful seafood restaurants. We visited in the summer of July 2018."

"It was the second time in Barcelona and i was looking for a hostel not so close from the center. This hostel was at the perfect location for me, i met Barcelona by feet and it was magical. The stuff was very kind and the breakfast very delicious. My first travel alone and definitely i will do it again! "

"Its clean and near the city center. You get a decent bed and washing facilities. A locker albeit you have to pay a euro to get the lock and key. The staff is polite and generally helpful. The kitchen is decent as is the large lounge with a couple of computers if you have a need for them. The atmosphere is a little dull and quiet which might not be everyone's cup of tea. Just make sure you arrive during there working hours otherwise you will be left frustrated as you wont be able to reach anyone at the reception. "

"We found that hotels are not all that inexpensive in Barcelona, and were happy to find this one, which was quite adequate, clean and has a restaurant on the bottom floor (a good breakfast was included, which I recommend because not all restaurants open in the morning there, plus I didn't see one right nearby anyway). They have an elevator - very handy, especially if you have larger suitcases like we did. We did some trouble getting the WiFi, and took several passwords and time to work out, but it eventually did. Overall, would recommend."

"1 Very nice terrace, even if a bit windy. I imagine it would be perfect on summer months. 2. No upper sheet, just blanket. Does not feel comfortable. 3. I don't think the floor in my room was even brushed once during my stay. (Corridors and bathrooms were brushed and washed daily) 4. Though shower stalls are nicely roomy, showers themselves left lot to wish for. Water pressure dropped off when hot was turned to maximum (but if less than maximum, water was too cold). In one of three stalls flow was reduced to mere trickle. I'm in favor of economizing water with timers, but 4 seconds?!! (I counted). Washing one-handed takes lot more time. 5. Kitchen is closed from 14-18 for cleaning. Most of the times I went to kitchen, sink was full of dirty dishes. Maybe if staff could step in every hour or half and wash few pots (or better, ask people to clean after themselves), they would not need 4 hours to clean.(ok, usually kitchen was open long after 2) 6. Some of the staff were quite rude, but others were nice, so I give 2 stars. 7. Room where I was had 8 beds and only 2 power outlets. When I asked for extension cord, I got very gruff 'No'. The adapter kept falling out of the wall and again, the guy in reception couldn't care less. But in the end he found me an extension cord. "

"Generator Barcelona is a 7-10min walk from the metro. Although the neighborhood seems dark and quiet at night, it’s extremely safe. There’s also a lot of nearby 24hr convenience stores near the area. The rooms were cleaned regularly, and so were the bathrooms. The staff was nice and accommodating. Tried asking for a bottom bunk for my shared room, and they gladly gave me one (this makes all the difference to me). My only issue is that the elevator can be slow sometimes - can be troublesome of you’re rushing for something. But overall, Generator Hostels never seems to fail me. It’s always my go-to hostel whenever I go to Europe, and Generator Barcelona kept that reputation."

"If you're looking for a budget hotel that's clean, friendly and within easy reach of the attractions then this hotel is great. Don't be put off by the dull exterior, the hotel is modern and cosy inside. The staff were really friendly and helpful and even spoke to our taxi driver on the phone at 2 am when my boyfriend dropped his mobile on the back seat! Also kindly upgraded our room to one with a balcony free of charge. It's not a really luxurious hotel with great views or a swanky restaurant but you're not paying luxury prices after all and you'll be out all the time having fun anyway! You get the usual fridge, safe, towels, toiletries and hairdryer but no tea and coffee in the room which is the only criticism I have. You can always get one in the bar though but it's nice to have it in the room when you get back late. Nice breakfast buffet but could do with a cheaper option if you just want tea and toast or cereal. There's a luggage storage room so you can enjoy your last hours before your flight. There's a small roof terrace and the pool is just a small plunge pool type thing but nice for cooling off when the weather is hot. It's an easy 5-10 min walk to 3 stations and a few stops into the buzzy centre. You can even walk to Park Guell in 25 mins. There are lots of restaurants in the classy Gracia area which is 15 mins walk. Barcelona is surprisingly much smaller than it looks on the map. We'd definitely stay there again."
