Traveling to India? Find Bikaner hotels

A very beautiful hotel with spectacular artifacts, amazing service and excellent facilities. The restaurant is very nice and we enjoyed all our meals. Outside eating facility (evening) is also good. I used the spa and was happy with it. Special thanks to the GYM trainer. As we went in summer and it was very hot...it would have been great to have some fans on the top courtyard. I would say this is the best place in Bikaner to enjoy a vacation. Very tastefully and aesthetically designed.

It was my 3rd trip to Bikaner and this time I was not in the mood to shell out lot of money for a 2 day stay ...... So Agoda helped me find a very good and not so expensive place and that turned out to be a heritage building right in the center of Bikaner next to the world famous fort ..... The hotel was the official residence of the Prime minister of the king of Bikaner region and thus it was constructed on the patterns of Rajasthani Forts .... The staff here was good .... and though I had booked the deluxe room they went out of their way to put me in the Heritage Suite right on the top floor of the hotel over looking the fort at no extra cost !!!! The room was awsome with a BIG attached bathroom ..... and at night it appeared that we were sleeping in the 18th century ..... the room is to be seen to be believed ....... food was not that good rather it was not at all good .... so we chose to dine out coz we were practically staying in a bazaar ..... apart from food on all other aspects the Hotel scored very well ..... I would definitely like to stay over there again for its old world architectural charm !!!!

Stayed here during the Bikaner Camel Festival 2013. The hotel is located right across the road from the Dr Karni Singh Stadium where the 2nd day festival events were held. The hotel staff are really friendly and the owner was great! Ate at the restaurant every day and enjoyed the food each time. Our room was a little dated, but for the price and location we felt like we got a good deal.

This hotel is good otherwise except security from outsiders is a big concern . Specially since they holed lot of Corporate events on new years . My personnel experience was bad on New years eve sine they opted to hold a corporate event of a company with approx 80 people without there families . Also they opened there hotel for take away , where we got into a incidence where one local from Bikaner not only got into the hotel but also staked a lady from our group till his room on 01st floor . He came to order butter chicken on New years eve (350 rs) but his intention was more to check on what's exiting happening on New years eve in hotel . First hotel was wrong is haveing lesser security if they are handing such evens . They should have opted to hold these in separately in lawn , unlikely they hosted this in main hotel complex where other families was also there . Also they never used that much of brain to stop on food take away service or avoid these strangers to come into the main hotel complexes on New years eve . They did everything to make hotel look clean and comfortable (for which i am convinced ) . But the security and no logical brain to handle big events make this hotel slightly vulnerable for families with ladies . For that matter Bikaner as a city is also very save palace for families .

First off, there are no cons, only pros. My title says it all. I've been traveling for nearly 3 years, and this is the most amazing place I've stayed. When I came to India, I expected to be staying at places like this. It has a very open, Indian feel. The upstairs dining room/rooftop/chillout area is the best part. They have breakfast, dinner, and probably lunch. The room was spectacular, clean, big, and the bathroom was big, clean, and the hot water was good. Wifi was good enough. It's located right in the heart of old city, which is a very crazy part of town, but it's pretty much the center of Bikaner I'd say. My room had a fan, AC, and the hostel provides clean water to drink. The hosts are great. The bathroom had soap. Not sure what else I can say. Stop reading reviews and book this place. This is the kind of place you think about when you think about coming to India. You feel like you're in a small palace of sorts.

My husband and I needed a place to stay for a night before catching the train to Delhi and I thought it sounded as though the Karni Bhavan Palace was in a quiet area yet close to town and the train station. When we first pulled in, we thought it looked a bit like a large building enclosed in a park but, on checking in, we found ourselves in the largest room I've ever stayed in in a hotel. Not only did we have an enormous bed, large bathroom and small sitting area, there was also a small office-type room attached to the bedroom. It was so very perfect for what we needed and we hardly moved for the entire afternoon and evening. The bed was extremely comfortable and wifi worked well and, while there isn't much in the neighbourhood, we found it interesting to wander near the hotel and explore since the area appears to be residential and people were really friendly. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was very good but very pricey. We were the only people staying there and felt a bit self-conscious as the service was wonderful and we occupied the entire dining room ourselves. Overall, we had a terrific stay here and would recommend it highly for a night or two in Bikaner.

For a little bit less than 400 Rupees per night we stayed at this lovely and quiet guesthouse and enjoyed every minute of it. The food at this guesthouse is delicious and reasonably priced. If you want you can join the manager's wife in the kitchen to see how the dishes are being prepared. WIFI is working fine and the speed is quite OK for this part of India. The guesthouse is close to the fort and to the bus stop to Deshnok (for the Rat Temple). The last night we joined the manager and his wife for a drink and spicy nibbles in the garden and chatted until it was time to pack our bags. We would recommend this property to other travellers planning to stay at Bikaner. We doubted whether we should rate this property with five stars or not, but the floor was not really clean and the dustbin still had garbage from the previous guest in it.

Upon arrival, it was clear that the management was not prepared to deal with modern reservation systems through Agoda, Booking.com or others. The man in charge when I arrived was rude, surly and treated me as if I were some petitioner for a medieval feudal lord rather than a traveler in Bikaner on business. I asked about his conduct at a later date, and was informed that he has problems. I’m unhappy that his problems became my problems. In distinction, the staff was excellent. The food was mediocre, unfortunately, and the bath had no hot water. There was not a moment when the internet worked. Not one. As is usual in South Asia, the modem works, but the connection through the server fails, so that no communication is possible. If you need to conduct business in Bikaner, you should consider another hotel. It is sad that the management is so inept when the building is so spectacular and the appointment so stunning.

The hotel was clean and rooms were large and comfortable . Plenty of hot water. There were old historical photos on display throughout the hotel. Felt like living in a beautiful living museum. Was quiet and plenty of security , but only a short rickshaw ride from the center of Bikaner. The grounds are huge and the staff are very enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge regarding the history of the hotel and the area.

The best thing about hotel Sagar is its location, which is within he Lallgarh Palace complex. The museum at the palace is walking distance from the hotel. The room that was provided to us was a huge family room, with lots of space for the luggage and 4 pax. The dinner was decent, but the breakfast was ordinary. Room service was variant, at times very good (while serving food), at times bad (had to ask 4 times to get an extra towel). The overall appearance of the hotel has got a charming feeling, especially the open courtyard converted into an open air dining area and the impressive lattice work on red stone. If you are in Bikaner for one night and okay with Veg food, this hotel is not a bad choice.

The truth is Bikaner is outside of the normal tourist route, and there are relatively few good options for guest houses. We feel like we found the best one. The guest house is an easy 5-10 minute walk to the fort, with a quiet courtyard and a few communal tables. The rooms are simple but adequate. Jitu and his lovely wife run the guest house and live here with their family. He is a Phd in herpetology and studied zoology, and is an absolute wealth of information. He organized a day tour for us that included a bit of bird watching (he knows where to find the raptors), a bit of a nature drive (we saw gazelle and blue bull), took us to his favorite tea stand and ended the tour at the traditional home of a Bishnoi family of widows. I learned so much from him in one day, about desert plants, about the birds, about the Bishnoi culture, about every question I've had about India but never had anyone to ask. His wife is a superb cook and we ate thalis there every day. This guy is the real deal--he's a gem in the heart of Bikaner.

I was supposed to spend 2 nights in Bikaner as a way station for Delhi. I have stayed much longer and do not want to leave because of my stay at this hotel. It is clean, modern, my room is big and has a terrace and large glass windows that make the room sunny and cheerful. The room comes with everything I need like a fridge, coffee maker, and flat screen TV with English channels. The bathroom is modern and clean and has a separate frameless glass enclosed shower. The bed is as comfortable as my bed at home. The buffet breakfast is excellent with much variety and excellent quality. The pool is clean and refreshing and very well maintained. The hotel is centrally located and all the main sights are within walking distance. Despite it's central location it is very quiet and you do not hear horns tooting like in most places in India. The hotel is on a very large property and the grounds are beautiful. Best of all is the staff. They are so well trained and courteous. I tell them I do not need my room cleaned and they clean it anyway. They speak English well and I have had some nice discussions with them. The man who runs the restaurant is very nice and so attentive. You never have to ask him for anything because he is always one step ahead of you. The owner of the hotel is around a lot and is a terrific guy who is so hospitable. You never feel like it is all about the money with him. You feel like you are his guest and he wants to make your stay wonderful. I cannot recommend this place enough. One last thing; I know in the guide books Bikaner is a footnote but I very much like this city. The fort is terrific and the streets are extremely interesting. Make sure you visit the old city. I would skip the rat temple though. I couldn't spend more than 5 minutes inside and it is not worth the trip. Take my advice and stay at this hotel.
