As usuaual, the InterCity hotels are centrally located, so is this one: next to the main train station of Darmstadt. From here you can reach restaurants and shopping areas in a few minutes or a with short tram ride. The rooms and facilities are very clean; the front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is safe but you need to pay, the parking lot is not operated...
This hotel is probably nice for people who lived in the seventies and like the dark, brown interior of that time... for me, it's totally depressing. Therefore, it's what it is - a conference hotel with simple rooms, good beds, and fast service. The hotel has a newer sister hotel across the street, I assume that would be nicer from its interior and provide a more plea...
Ibis next door has pretty much the same basic breakfast and if you just need a bed to sleep the place is ok.
ibis budget is nice in most cities and this was no exception. wish i had stayed for more nights. very clean

Getting to and from the hotel from Darmstadt Station was not so good by public transport since the bus stopped a fair walk to and from the hotel. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful particularly on my last day checking out. It was pouring with rain and to walk to the bus stop with luggage was going to be difficult. The man on duty at the reception desk ...
you get the pharmacy, McD all nearby
the hotel was hard to find, as the entrance is located in a court behind other buildings. signs show the entrance actually. then you take the lift to the 3rd floor where the reception is. the rooms are half level below and above the reception level, along two corridors. similar to a garage? because the hotel is actually the top 3 levels of one. the breakfast was goo...
I have repeatedly staid at the Welcome Hotel in Darmstadt on Business trips to the city. The location is perfectly central, the rooms are good with nice and big bathrooms and the staff is very friendly. I didn't have breakfast, as it is a little on the expensive side.
it is conveniently located on the outside of darmstadt. i did not like the fact that free internet was only in the lobby. nowadays basic internet connection is so cheap that is should be provided for free. the restaurant is separate from the hotel so you cannot put your bill on the room. garage spaces are very tight and not very convenient with chains and padlocks
