Traveling to South Korea? Find Gyeongju-si hotels

Not a far walk from Gyeongju train station but the road it is on has pretty much nothing else. Each bed has a privacy curtain and light so it was real comfy. Make sure you know a little Korean or have someone who can help because the staff didn't seem to speak much English so I spoke only in Korean to them. They seemed friendly though. The hostel is under 10 min from the train station, 15-20 min to the main attractions, and close to the bus stop that will take you to Bulguksa Temple.

Very well maintained guest house. Great location and helpful staff. 7 mins walk from the intercity bus terminal. Agoda's check in time was 1 pm but on arrival, the staff said check in is at 3 pm. However, the accommodated us by 1 30 so I am not taking this into account. The room and property is very clean and the breakfast is quite good (bread, eggs, peanut butter, jam). The bed (mattress) is quite small but that is specified; however I wish there is an option of a larger mattress. The room had no ventilation and the a/c in the room didn't have a remote control (on purpose I guess, so we couldn't use it). I'll still recommend this as a good place to stay in Gyeongju.

This hostel is just a few minutes walk away from Gyeongju Train Station, so it is really convenient. My friends and I booked one entire 4-bed room, and it was very clean. Each room has a private bathroom, which was also very clean. There was enough space for all of our belongings although the room isn't that large. The hostel provides egg and toast breakfast in the lounge/kitchen downstairs. Also, the lounge has a few computers for guest use as well as a few board games to play. It was a very fun and friendly atmosphere. The only negative is a very minor thing: they were a little bit pushy about when and where you were supposed to be in the hostel throughout the day. We were told we weren't supposed to be in our rooms in the afternoon because they were being cleaned, and they don't like you staying in the lounge area after you've checked out either. Despite their not being flexible in this regard, the staff was very attentive and helpful. They even ordered delivery for us because we don't speak enough Korean to do it ourselves. We were all very happy with our stay in this hostel.

The owner is warm and kind. There were a lot trouble in this trip but the owner gave me help. At first, We were too busy to go on way to Gyeongju si from airpot, and we didn't eat anyhing. even if that, she still provided breakfeast to us and was concerned with my grandpa. Then, My cousin's shoes was broken, she gave us power glue to repair. the room was clean and warm. it looks like staying at home. the floor heating, heater and electric blanket was so warm that I didn't wanna go outside! the map the the owner gave was quite useful, it was easier to go anywhere in Gyeongju . the location is good, it take 5 to 10 mins by bus from terminal station and it take 5 mins by feets from train station. It is located in center of city, the attractions is quite near to Momojein Guesthouse. Momo is a cute and naughty dog, I must keep beanie on the table or she gripped it.

This guest house is really great,me and my friend decided to stay there for 1 night. At first it was hard to find but in the end it was easy. When you alight at gyeongju station or by bus number 10 or 11. you will see Arituam then walk straight all the way(you will pass by the seondeok market)continue walking*on the pavement where you are look to your right, there is a shop name the gallery , it is not far now.continue walking look up you will see a blue signboard with guesthouse,*there is a gyeongju bread shop, turn left walk into the lane, the guesthouse is located on the left. I had an amazing time here. 41st is down the road and across the bridge from Gyeongju Train Station, or opposite Silla Middle School. You can access it easily with city buses or a taxi. They're mainly a Backpackers Hostel, but I do think they may have private rooms as well. The beds are really great, and you get a locker with a key. The central lounge area is always busy with guests so you get to chat with people from all over the world. They have a kitchen and offer a DIY breakfast, and the staff are the friendliest and most helpful I've ever met. They seriously will go well out of their way to accommodate you and help you. Not only did the lady at the desk help us with everything from drawing us maps, to telling us every bus option we can take, to calling cabs for us and even organizing tours for us (using her cellphone and her own airtime), but she also came in at 6am just to check us out early because we had an early train that morning. They're the friendliest hostel I've ever stayed in, and the dorms are great and the showers/bathrooms, and definitely the people as well.

Had a really great memorable stay in Gyeongju Blue Boat. The room is very clean, bed is very comfy, room heating works well, clean bathroom, hostel has all the basic facilities you need, location is convenient in the city centre and close to some historical sites such as cheomsongdae, anapji pond, daerungwon. Finding places to eat is very easy too. The staff Sharon was very helpful and informative. She even gather a few solo travellers who just arrived that day (including me) and organized a night tour for us. I left Gyeongju with unforgettable memories. It was perfect. I will definitely recommend this hostel to everyone travelling Gyeongju!

Stayed here 4 nights. The place has a nice, cozy vibe to it. Breakfast is simple, but good. The beds are spacious and the whole place is quite clean. The hosts are absolutely wonderful; they went above and beyond to make my stay as pleasant as it could be. Also close to the bus station and in walking distance of quite a few of the attractions. Will be staying again should I find myself in Gyeongju.

We got to Gyeongju late around 11:00 pm and the owner friendly greeted us. We got the last couple room on the third floor which is located quite far from other rooms. I don't know if you can request but please ask for that room if you'd want some privacy. Breakfast is provided. Basic simple room for 2 people with bed, TV and bathroom. It's close to the Bus terminal station and they put places to visit in Gyeongju so that was very helpful. The only thing is the weak pressure of water. Other than that, both my boyfriend and I loved the place :) Totally recommend it!

One of the best hostels. Very strategic location: within 200 meters from Gyeongju Express Bus and Inter-city Bus Terminals, walking distance from Gyeongju Historic Areas (Ancient Tombs, Anapji Pond, and Gyeongju National Museum), and very near the bus stations to Bulguksa Temple or to Yangdong Village, or even to the train stations. The room was very clean, beds and bedding were comfortable; the comfort room was spacious. Breakfast was good. But most important, the owner Mr. Kim is very accommodating and approachable. Will stay again in this hostel. :)

We had a pleasant stay at the Sono Hotel. My wife and I have stayed in plenty of Love motel's in Korea and this one was one of the more comfortable that we've stayed in. The lady working at reception was attentive and considerate and gave us a map of attractions to see in Gyeongju. We arrived by bus and the hotel is only a 15 minute walk from the bus station or a cheap 3 minute cab ride. It is also conveniently located within in walking distance (15~25 minutes) to some of the attractions such as the royal tombs or Cheomseongdae. It's an 8 minute walk to the downtown shopping area. It's also about a 45 minute walk to Anapji Pond (nice to see at night) though you can take a short cab ride. There wasn't much of a nightlife but if you are looking to go out ... Seonggeong-dong is about a 3 minute cab ride from the hotel. Gyeongju is a nice place to visit if you're looking to see a scenic and historical side of Korea; we also visited Gyeongju world which was a 35 minute cab ride, the water park was nice but the amusement park was a little rickety.

Dasoda Mini Motel was the perfect choice for travelling in Gyeongju. This hotel located near Intercity and Express Bus station and also near the market. The motel staff was very friendly and the motel provide complete facilites, include bath amenities, free drinking water, juice,tea and coffee. The bedroom also very comfortable and the bathroom also very clean&comfortable. Overall we really satisfied with this motel and we couldn't get the negative points for this motel.

Had an excellent stay here in November. When searching for lodging in Gyeongju, I was a little hesitant about Tavo due to the startlingly (I'm being quite literal here - look them up) positive reviews on other sites, but they do live up to their reputation. Leaving afterwards to Seoul, it was my first time in Gyeongju and my second time travelling via intercity train, having previously arrived from Busan, and they not only gave me advice on directions, but Mrs Lee went to the trouble of confirming that I could buy KTX Singyeongju (located just outside the city, and the fastest train) to Seoul tickets at the inner-city Gyeongju Station. Kanye, her son, was also always available over the phone to to help with English questions and cover for my lack of Korean. This was a very homely homestay; Mrs Lee was always welcoming when I arrived/got back and for the day. She would also proudly, and rightly so, prepare a day snack of delicious persimmons direct from her mother's home. A little note on location, when looking for buses, find one with "YMCA" listed as one of the stops (mind you, I never found the actual YMCA). The house is a little hidden, being behind the gas station that the bus will stop at; getting off the bus, you won't see the house at first, but just follow the side-road right beside the gas station and a cute brown house will come into view.

Apple is near to the bus station, and about a 5 minute walk to all the main in-town bus lines. We easily walked back to the hotel from all the historical and shopping areas in Central Gyeongju. The room was very big, with a high quality bathroom and bed. All toiletries and water were replaced as soon as we needed them. While we were happy with all of the motel owners at all of our stops in South Korea, the owners at Apple Motel were our favorites. They were kind, helpful, quick to respond, and English-fluent. They were just very very nice, and clearly cared a lot about their hotel.

This is an hostel which has an ambition of becoming a hotel! I like it very much! It's a new hostel. Everything is new and clean. The room is well-equipped and nice-furnished! The bed sheet and comforter are super clean! The heating system is powerful, more than warm enough. I felt warm and comfortable in winter nights. There is a tea bag, an instant coffee bag and a bottle of water in your room every day(just like normal hotels do). What's most important is the boss. He is very friendly and helpful. He explained to me how to go to the attractions in details, giving me bus timetables for the attractions in remote districts and even leading me the way to a restaurant at a Sunday night when there were many restaurants closed. If I need to say a disadvantage, that's the breakfast time. The breakfast time is so short, from 8-9 a.m..If you want to have a good rest and sleep later in the morning, then it's highly possible that you will miss the breakfast time. Plus, you still need to walk about 10-12 minutes from the intercity bus terminal/express bus terminal to the hostel. On the way, you can see many hostels. So this one may not be the one which is closest to the terminals.

Great location! This hotel is just 5-min on foot from the long distance bus terminal (we got to Gyeongju from Seoul by bus), and just outside the bus terminal there is a Tourist Center where the girl can speak very good Chinese! There are many small restaurants around, you can walk around to see the traditional korean-style alleys and houses and get to the ancient tombs area in 15 minutes. Also there's a bike rental shop near the hotel. Hotel room is clean, though simple. The TV remoter is too complicated and everything is in Korean, we spent quite a time to study the remoter.

The hostel is superbly clean. Stayed in a 6 bed female dorm. Breakfast was alright (eggs, toast). Fresh towels daily. Abit far from gyeongju express bus station if you walk, probably takes 20 mins with your luggage but the hostel is close to gyeongju's 'town centre' where there's lots of food and shops. It is close to the tomb complex too. Other main attractions (eg. anapji, grotto) are easily accessible by local buses (bus stops are 5-10 mins minutes away. It is a quiet hostel and you can have a good rest during your stay at gyeongju.

a pleasant surprise, such large rooms and bathroom was unbelievable. I loved the owners, an elderly couple and their son who helped us book our flight tickets to Jeju using his credit card----------so much trust. A place to stay if you are not the type who MUST BE DOING OR SEEING things just because you are on a trip. love the place and thank you for the free water melons

This hotel is located in a very convenient location for tourists to navigate through the city. It is located literally in front of a bus terminal . If a first time visitor, this hotel works wonderfully. And it was very easy to get around and safe. I could find many local restaurants nearby. The staff in the reception could speak English, so had no problem to communicate with. Service was efficient and the staff was friendly, helpful and supportive. As the other reviewer said, it is just one of the love hotels.. For those unfamiliar with the "no tell motels" of Korea this may not seem like a good thing but anyone who has spent the night, or an hour, in one of those pleasure palaces knows that this is a compliment. Each room is decked out in kitchy style. The breakfast was better than I expected. . The rooms were large, clean and comfortable with useful amenities. The neighborhood was busy but the rooms quiet. I would stay here again when I go to Gyeongju.

It’s our first night in Gyeongju, and we arrived at 11pm+ with a late bus from Seoul. The owner waited for us and even gave us ramyeon when she knew we were hungry but most shops/restaurants close early in this quaint town. That was so touching! The room is comfy and warm with enough blankets and extremely clean. The guesthouse also functions as a cafe and their decor definitely had style. We didn’t have time to try their coffee (opens from 11am) but judging from the fresh bean brew during breakfast (served from 8 to 9.30am with toast, jam, hard boiled eggs, fruits and joghurt, with milk and orange juice), their coffee offerings must be good. Definitely will recommend this to anyone looking for a comfy guesthouse with good location and friendly owner!

Walking distance from intercity bus terminal and express bus terminal. Unesco World Heritage sites are also within walking distance. Very traditional popular Korean restaurants are nearby too. 집주인 The owner gave us introduction and direction to travel to the places of interest in Gyeongju-Si which is extremely useful and helpful for us. We enjoyed the trip very much as we managed to watch the beautiful 불국사 Bulguksa in Autumn. We love the Ondol room too, we slept very well in such cold weather. My children love the breakfast very much.
