Where to stay in Qingdao
Qingdao hotels & accommodations

I have stayed at this hotel around 20 years ago. By the time it was the best hotel in Qingdao. Other big brands has been built new hotels. But the location and the service of Grand Regency is still in place. Price is very reasonable. Strongly recommended.

Hilton Qingdao Golden Beach provided excellent room, comfortable bed, and a nice view. The friendly, young staff spoke English very well and were helpful. Several restaurants offer local and international cuisine. The location is some distance from central Qingdao but must be popular during summer beach season.

Room was spacious, well-designed. It has a living room, bedroom, Kitchen and bathroom. As my place of visiting is Shangri-La Office Tower, which is just about 200-300m away from the hotel, it saves me travelling time from taking any transportation. The Qingdao Metro is work in progress along this Hong Kong Middle Road, there will be a station below this hotel and will ...

I had a great time in the Sea view garden hotel. All I want to say is “Thank you!” Their service is absolutely superior to any other hotels I’ve visited! -Free Airport Pick Up: You can get to the hotel if you call n book the hotel shuttle bus in advance. -Staff: All staff was so friendly and tried to figure out my problem. There was a problem with my Chinese visa rig...

Me and a colleague were visiting Qingdao for work when we decided to stay here. We were pleasantly surprised how nice this place turned out to be. The property is very nice and the staff are very well trained. A special mention to the concierge staff members (Jesse & Justin) at their knowledge of the City, their enthusiasm and willingness to help and English skills. T...

Since it was a relatively new hotel in Qingdao I decided to check it out. Stayed here with my family over the holidays. The room is comfortable, big and clean. The view of the beach was nice and made me wish we were staying over summer. The restaurants had good food and thankfully so as there isn't anything within walking distance (i.e. 5 mins) from the hotel to have a...

The location were good. Easily access to malls and dining. It's comfort while I stay in The Westin Qingdao this time. The staff was very kind, helpful and really polite. Everything is possible and always with a smile. Great rooms, comfortable and tasty.

I was in Qingdao due to business and a honeymoon. And that was the BEST CHOICE that I can possibly make. The hotel is a very big property and it sits right next to the very beautifull Silver Beach. As I enter the hotel, the reception greeted us with high enthusiasm and they threat their guess really good so every guest may feel so special. I would like to express my t...

The site is a little outside of central part of city but using transportation was comfortable. Room was clean and people in front was friendly. Price was reasonable among the hotels in Qingdao. However room facilities were not enough (hair dryer was not in the room).

The hotel is located really far from city center but if you have to catch a plane in the morning, staying this hotel could be very nice. It takes about 10 minutes to go there by taxi, and taxi fare will be at around 20 yuan. Whenever i go to qingdao, before one day i leave there, i usually stay here. Room is super big and everything is really nice. And the bar on the f...

Good stay during by business visit to Qingdao. Reception staff helped me with some special requests. I wish I would have had some more time to enjoy the lovely seaview from my room. And really nice that the Airport Express Bus stops and leaves right next to the building!

Our flight to Qingdao was delayed and we only arrived at 1:30 AM at the hotel. Very efficient and fast check in. The staff is friendly and they can speak good English. The hotel is a little dated and decor looks like a plush palace from the last century. And so does the room. But it is all very clean and has all the amenities one needs. Fast Wi-Fi Internet access and a...

Me and my wife arrived the airport almost 11:30pm, we knew that the hotel was within walking distance, but we also had to catch a a taxi. However, the taxi drivers at the airport were crazy, tried to ask RMB50-100 for a short 2 minute ride, so we ended up walking there, only took about 10 minutes, no trick. The lobby was like a typical hotel lobby in China, dark and ...

JinJiang scores again at this QingDao property. A basic chain hotel, it neither overwhelms nor disappoints. Very enjoyable stay in a good location at a good price. Strongly recommend that all guests enjoy the breakfast. Can't beat the price at 18yuan, and the buffet offers Western and Asian choices in abundance. The staff English is mixed, but good enough to get b...

After looking at the photos for this hotel, I was a little disappointed after I arrived. It wasn't quite as modern as I expected. That said, it was fairly clean. A little bit small, but it was quite adequate for the 3 days I was there. I ended up paying around AUD 55.00 (USD 40.00) per night and considering it was fairly cheap, I guess I got what I paid for. One o...

Me and my colleague stayed in this hotel in Qingdao near Qingdao airport for 2 nights in mid Apr. One morning we asked concierge to call a taxi to send us to Qingdao train station located in downtown. That taxi has normal taxi appearance but it turned out to be one installed with a crooked meter - distance between the hotel and Qingdao train station in downtown is aro...
Cheap places to stay in Qingdao

It was pretty nice place compare to it's price. King size bed, clean room and everything was tidy. But the staff couldn't speak English, so it was hard to get information about this area from them. The most funny thing is price. When I arrived at hotel, staff asked me to pay 260 RMB because they didn't know that I already paid all in Agoda website. You know? I paid 's...

Location: Only if you're able to conquer slopes easily, I say this is a great place to stay. Service: The ladies are generally very helpful. The men were terrible! I speak Mandarin so I think it helps, so I'm not sure how's their command of English. I wanted to enquire about the airport transfer back and would like to find out about the airport shuttle, the men counte...

The price was unbelievably cheap so my expectation was actually quite low. But once we arrived at the hostel it was amazing. The building looked great and the bar looked quite nice. The staff was very friendly. The room(we stayed in a family room) was even better. It was two floored room. Two big bed in a separated space. Quite spacious. Hot shower, clean sink and to...

The main reason for choosing this hotel is it is very close to Qingdao airport, convenience for those traveler who arrive late. It took less than 10 minutes by taxi from airport and it cost about RMB 12. There are quite a few small restaurants and mini marts just a few steps away from the hotel. Room are very basic, just good enough for a one night sleep. Staff are fri...

I was just going to stay 1 night, but the staff were so friendly that I stayed an extra night. The location may not right for everybody, but it was where I needed to be. I only had breakfast there which was good, about average, but the pictures of other meals looked very appealing.

it was awful! i know it was a budget place but seriously don`t stay here. the staff were very average and unhelpful. the hallway to the rooms was very dirty. the room was very dirty and had an awful smell. there was a massive cockroach in the room. there were people drilling loudly in the floor above us while we were trying to sleep at like 9.30pm. then the next day th...

Incredibly cheap hotel walking distance from the airport. Super easy to find. The staff was very friendly even though there was a language barrier. You are getting what you pay for at this hotel meaning the bed like other budget Chinese hotels is incredibly hard. But if you have a long layover it's a much better place to wait than the airport.

despite the previous comments i give thumbs up to this hotel. i stayed only for a night and i liked it. it's a definite value for money. room no windows. room was spacious and has all amenities in. cleanliness and the room condition was nice. water pressure of the shower was great, but there is an issue with the sewer i guess. if you use the full pressure water, toilet...

Lacked basic necessities such as hairdryer (called to ask for one and took ages to receive one). Room doesn't have a phone either so you must use your own mobile to call out (make sure you get a SIM card in china). Shower wasn't clean and the doors were broken. Location is a bit far out from all the major attractions except for May fourth square and the beach which is ...

Compared to some other hotel around that are even more expensive, Hola hotel was actually above our expectations. Everything was clean in the room and the bed very comfortable. We really enjoyed the free gifts in the room & the amazing sound system. Despite the music, we couldn't hear any noise from neighbours or outside. Our stay in this hotel was definitly an added-v...

stayed there for 3 nites for business. staff were friendly and helpful. but, as with most parts of china, english language capability is definitely a hindrance to communication. for even the basic things. but then again, it is not their first language so it shouldnt be expected. besides that this hotel provides everything you need, for the right price. it may seem to f...

I stayed 3 nights at the newly opened Four Points. At the current time, it is the best and highest-rated hotel in Jiaonan. The service was wonderful, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The food at "the Eatery" was ok, but still a safe alternative to the local food spots that I am unfamiliar with. Fitness facility is new. Nice TV's for every treadmill and el...

Good location and friendly staff. Thanks to Ms. Amy Zheng who had helped to provide me lots of info during check-in. This is my second time to stay in this hotel. This time my room's air con was not working well, making me feel very cold. Even they sent someone to check and fix, but just a bit better only. Also, buffet for dinner to me is just so so. I only like Jap...

Well, Not a good experience at all... What I thought was a good rate turned out to be a bit of a dilemma.. Arrived in Qingdao late on the Fast Train.. got the Taxi to the address, then set about trying to find the Check in Office for this establishment.. after 1.5 hrs of looking. asking locals, I finally found the phone number of the place.. Turns out to be Himalayas ...

Well there are many good hotels in Qingdao City. With beautifull landscape and seashore coastline, one of the ideal place to stay is Sanford hotel. Why convenient locatioon, great amenities, good staff attentive to your every need.I will say coming back for business or leisure is worth your stay.Fantastic,really.

It's a very nice hotel. The room was big and well furnished. Overall the hotel was well decorated. The bed was quite comfortable. It took the air conditioner some time to start heating the room, but in the end it worked fine. I would certainly stay in this hotel again.

Hotel is located near the main street of ZhongShan road, which has many food stalls, unique gift stalls, and traditional biscuits/cakes/snacks shops nearby. It is within walking distance from the high speed train station ~ 15 mins, as well as the nearby coastal sea ~15 mins walk. Just behind the hotel, there is a venue where couples take pre wedding photo shoots throug...

Wow! I wish I had tried this hotel earlier. Because a few days earlier, I had stayed 200 metres away in The Duoyuan hotel which was more expensive and I didn't think as good value for money. i chose this hotel because it is very near to qingdao airport, just aroung 10 minutes by airport taxi, which i need to take some rest after long staying on the plane, moreover; this hotel is much more beautiful than the pictures i saw before, it looks luxury with vintage style, but very cheap price. the room is romantic, cute and very comfortable with free internet acc...

The Castle Hotel is located on the grounds of the historic Qingdao Castle. A great place to stay when visiting Qingdao, taking the tours, and getting to know the history of Qingdao. a very charming, quality hotel yet very far from downtown qingdao. however a few onths agao the new tunnel conecting the technical development zone with downtown pas opened which shortens travelling time to under 30 minutes. i consider this hotel one of the best bargains. the quality/price ratio is excellent. the surroundings are a bit dissapointing, so i recommend you...

It was the first time we have been to Qingdao and we deciced to book the Lalo because we wanted to relax. The staff was rude, and when we went to the front counter of the hot springs, they told us to go back to the room and use our 'bubble bath' and not the hot springs that they provide as a service for guests staying there. Very beautiful city center which suits all types of travelers, i was a solo explorer when I visited qingdao the first time, then for business and recently with family.
Very clean city with almost no air pollution. Nice historical sites and restored buildings. Pleasant walks along the shorelines and on the many hills and parks within the town.
It would be helpful to be prepared to speak a little Chinese before going like, where is the toilet, take me to .
IF YOU HAVE A TIME, I WANT TO RECOMMEND YOU TO VISIT LAO MOUNTAIN! NOW, WE CAN NOT USE METRO BUT BUS SYSTEM IS GOOD, IF YOU CAN READ CHINESE LETTERS.
QingDao is beautiful, it s well known internationally for their beer, and also for their scenery. Thinking that this place is all about the beer, i made a short tour around the city, sadly i do not have time for sightseeing.
the city is good and clean, however taxi is bad and shortage, they will ask higher fee for foreigner, it will be good to ask the hotel to arrange a car or rent a car at airport and drive yourself.
I always wanted to visit Qingdao as my 2003 trip got cancelled due to SARS. No one there speaks english so travel with Chinese friend or native level speaker.
I spent half of my time in Huangdao, which I preferred. Qingdao was cheaper to stay and eat in but it was dirtier.
Generally easy to get around if you speak the language. Not much touting as there are little foreigners around, mainly Mainland Chinese tourists when I was there.
Qingdao is surrounded by sea. It a very nice and cooling place. It a must to visit the Qingdao Beer Factory.
it is a city which can cater to all your holiday needs. You can enjoy the beaches, the seaview and the mountain scenary.
it's famous for beer and Mt Laosan. Quingdao beer is one of the best beer in the world and Mt. Laosan is good for hiking, 1320m.
Qingdao is a port city with good beaches but is very hot in summer Streets are not very clean , buses are many but taxi are bad
Vibrant city on the sea with plenty of seafood restaurants, but check the quality and freshness first.
Its a Clean and nice city with nil nightlife or entertainment facility or you cannot manage to reach due to language problem.
Qingdao is good for all types of travellers. There are things to do with small children and adults on their own.
An expensive City for the rich china residents. Everything is costly including food. Shopping very expensive compared to other part of China.
It is a great city with many small mountains areas. The houses built along the slopes which makes it such a good picture ! The old historic sites are great to see.
Qingdao is a modern city. The Olymic sailing was held theremin 2008 and so the city was tidied up for the evnt.
I like cities close to the sea and Qingdao is perfect for a day on the beach, walking around the city, shopping and having seafood.
not too much people. nice and quiet place, clean and tidy streets, pretty harbour, historical buildings everywhere.
a beautiful city of china. very unlike beijing or other cities. the air is much fresher and building nicer
Qingdao is a nice, small Chinese city. By small, I mean around the size of Chicago. It is very affordable and there are plenty of things to see.
As I lived in Jinan where is surrounded by mountain and noisy in Shandong,China, this city is so refreshing cause of beautiful scenery of the ocean and mountain.
Qingdao is a nice place to chill out, away from the combusted and overcrowded cities. Nice food and sightseeing places such as the beaches, Badaguan German houses and churches.
You can find great Korean restaurant JINGFUGONG in this city. You can experience the most traditional food there
Qingdao is probably one of the cleanest and picturesque cities in China. It was occupied by Germany at the turn of the century and their legacy has left some excellent architecture that has been maintained by the local government.
Visiting only for Biz, but would rate this as the best or second best (next to Shanghai) city in China.
Sailing and olympic city with an old part and park where the life goes much slower then in CBD and worth a visit, the same with the old german churches

Travel Tips for a Smooth Journey in Qingdao
Traveling to Qingdao can be a breeze with a little preparation. First and foremost, familiarize yourself with some basic local customs. Chinese culture places a strong emphasis on respect and politeness, so greeting locals with a smile and a nod can go a long way. Learning a few simple phrases in Mandarin, such as “Xièxiè” (thank you) and “Nǐ hǎo” (hello), can enhance your interactions and show appreciation for the local culture. While many young people in Qingdao speak English, especially in tourist areas, having a translation app handy can be helpful for navigating menus and signs.
Another essential tip is to plan your transportation in advance. Qingdao is well-connected by public transport, including buses and taxis, making it easy to get around. The city also offers bike rental services, which provide a fun way to explore the scenic coastal routes at your own pace. When using taxis, it’s advisable to have your destination written in Chinese or use a ride-hailing app to avoid any communication barriers.
Lastly, be mindful of the local cuisine. Qingdao is renowned for its seafood, so be sure to indulge in fresh catches from the ocean. Street food is also a must-try, with options ranging from grilled skewers to savory pancakes. However, if you have dietary restrictions or specific preferences, it’s wise to communicate your needs clearly to avoid any misunderstandings. With these tips in mind, your journey through Qingdao promises to be smooth and enjoyable.
