Sankt Anton am Arlberg hotels & places to stay

Good overall stay, bit trusting when you specify a room in a specific part of the hotel about 6 months prior to arrival then again about 3 weeks in advance to be told the room is already allocated and can't be moved due to being full. To then stay in a room with a broken bed and next to a noisy family and to find the hotel less than half full. The bed frame was broken and was clearly visible to anyone as soon you walk into the room, so no excuse not to be fixed, had to manually wedge something under it to be able to sleep properly. Breakfast was average, food generally cold, room often a mess with uncleared tables. Hotel location is pretty good , mid point of the two main lifts so a bit of a walk, but you can leave skis and boots in the shop at the lifts, so the 10 min walk ok. St Anton still a great ski area with some good bars and restaurants.

Pros: - deluxe room with lounge and two televisions - robes and slippers to use in the wellness centre - included an amazing breakfast - close to the ski lift and ski school and they have a free ski room there for your gear - very secure - very helpful, friendly and attentive staff - free apples, cake, biscuits and lollies - help yourself bar with wine, some spirits and beers Cons: - the shower in room 27 was very low due to the design of the ceiling which made it uncomfortable to attempt to shower beneath

we stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon and it was perfect for our needs. this hotel is really set up for skiing, located next to the gondola, and bus stop to other slopes, with large drying room for all your gear it takes the hassle out of skiing. the rooms were modern and spacious and the 5 course dinners were to die for. thoroughly recommend this hotel to people looking for a special hotel on the slopes.

Our stay was ok, definitely not better, but also not worse. Food was very poor: 1) Breakfast is very monotonous and without any specials. 2) We canceled the half board after the very first dinner given the complete lack of any taste. There are far better places to eat in St. Anton, so of you stay there don't go for their half board. The rooms urgently need refurbishment as they look and feel a bit worn down. The two best thing were the hotel's very close situation to the next ski-lift in only 300 meters and the newly build wellness area. Overall, there are better places in St. Anton to stay.

This property's main selling point is its fantastic location, a couple of minutes walk (in ski boots) from the main gondola. Easy walking distance to the main street area, restaurants and bars. Sadly, when we were there, the hotel's masseuse was ill, and we were told to go and ask at the tourist centre where else we could get a massage. We would have expected that they would have at least suggested some alternatives. They were polite, however, just not particularly proactive. Breakfast had a satisfactory range and very well executed in the italian restaurant below, which is great for pizza in the evening. The room itself was well sized, with a good separate section for hanging and storage, complete with a tray for damp boots! The ski room arrangement is a little odd. When we arrived and asked if there was a ski room, we were told that we had to use the Intersport (under the hotel), however, the next day when we came down from the mountain after Intersport closed, we were directed to use a small ski storage room in the hotel. We arrived at 9pm and the lobby was dark apart from two guests having a glass of wine. We were a little confused as there was no apparent number to call and wandered around a bit before someone came to the desk. We would stay again - particularly because of the convenience of the location, but would bear in mind where we can put our things and when desk staff are likely to be around..

Was staying here late February for a snowboarding trip. It was high season, so obviously prices would be high as were all the other hotels. This hotel is managed by the Sailers, family business hence Hotel Sailer. Was received by a very warm reception by mr sailer's the son. They would chat with you by the bar, and check if everything was fine. We has a room with a balcony with the view of the Mountain, rooms are very clean with a good size bathroom with bathtub which is very nice especially in winters after a whole day snowboarding. Location is fantastic as it is just a 5-10 mins walk from the main station, and right in the center of the town, near to all the bars, ski equipment stores and offsite the ski lifts. I was surprise by the rooms, as the rooms looks a lot better than the pictures. Although it was a hotel, it seem like a home stay at the same time. St. Anton is a very beautiful place, left with a heavy heart,as I fell in love with St. Anton. If you are planning to go there, Please stay ate Hotel Sailer.

This hotel is in a prime location for skiing. You will pay for this. Some of the staff were absolutely excellent: kind, patient and would go out of their way to be helpful, even though I was American. Some of the staff were intolerant, and I suspect not honest with me. Unfortunately, this happened on more than one occasion. Breakfast was ok, dinner was mediocre. I will not stay here again. But the skiing was an outstanding experience, and I did like the convenience to the slopes!
