"A great value for the money, we had a beautiful pool villa. Still, the service at the hotel, with the exception of one lady, was average at best. If Sanya is to compete against the likes of Thailand/PH for Chinese tourists, this should be improved. All that said, I would highly recommend this hotel to others. The 'private' beaches were not so great."

"We stayed in the Anantara Sanya Resort & Spa for 5 days and 4 nights. We booked the delex ocean room . You can look at a beautiful sea view at the balcony. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back in future! Becoz this hotel really gave us a relaxing moments all the times! Also, we never experiences such a friendly and perfect services in other five stars hotel. Their ppl are well-trained and always with smile. Their services showed that they take care of their guests. It made us feel warm. Their room are big, clean and with everything that you expect from a 5 stars hotel. Room decoration is simple, stylish and comfortable. Also, their towel art decoration is amazing ! It was surprised us that they folded the towels into different animal shapes every night! It was really cute and made us happy! Surrounding area of this hotel is nice, clean with fantastic pool and good gym. I love the massage function in the pool. For the Spa, you cant miss it at all! Their restaurants are great. The Thailand restaurant must try there! I love the mince chicken and deep fired fish with sweet spicy sauce! It was so yummy! This hotel gave us a wonderful holidays. We had a very quiet and relaxing moments at Anantara Sanya. We would love to come back if i visit Sanya again. I am also interested their resorts in other Asia places! "

"We were very happy with the hotel, our suite was huge, we loved the full seaview and the bathtub on the balcony. Breakast was amazing. The swimming pool was also great. I have however 4 comments: 1. The hotel doesn't accept international credit cards. We arrived at midnight, after 5 attempts of using the card we told the hotel staff we've had enough, they said we could pay the deposit the following day. Next day they woke us up twice (!) to remind us about the deposit, saying the machine was fixed. After another 2 attempts the staff called somewhere and told us our card was blocked. This very moment some other foreigners arrived at the hotel, their card also didn't work. We asked the staff why did they lie to us about our card – no reply, no apology, but in the end we only paid $10 deposit in cash. Just say straight away you only accept cash and this would make things much easier. 2. The food in the beach restaurant was bad, so we were eating at a Chinese place nearby. We ordered pasta with seafood – the dish we got on the flight from Beijing to Sanya. Unfortunately it looked and tasted the same as airplane food, the portion was as small and as cold as on the flight. It's a pity, as the restaurant is beautiful and we'd be happy to eat there. 3. The beach is a typical „Chinese style” beach – full of quads, motorbikes, scooters, motorboats, excavators, helicopters and planes flying just above your head. Basically you are walking between speeding vehicles, in a lot of noise and breathing exhaust fumes, while all those people honk at you trying to sell you a ride. Not a good place for a 6 month old baby, we only spent 15 min on the beach then only stayed at the hotel pool. 4. Heavy smog was covering Hainan – the sun was barely shining through the air pollution. Air in Beijing was much better (in Sanya AQI was 200 with no visibility). This is the reason why we will not go back to Sanya again, but if we went we would choose the same hotel again."

"Been in Hilton Sanya for my sixth time, for our anniversary, birthday of my father and son... wonderful experience as always, the hotel is getting old, can see from pass experience that they had change they business way, it become a hotel for kids. The down part from pass experience is the F&B, they have limited choice, the international restaurant is only open in breakfast, if you want eat a la carte western food need to go to the chinese restaurant or the speciality restaurant that as well becoming a hot pot.... over all Hilton Sanya is a nice place for vacation... we will back for sure... but the F&B is a down and petty for us as we do not like buffet... "Most local staff speak or understand very little English. The Expat staff members on site however are most helpful, professional and friendly. For the price paid, it represents excellent value for money. However, do not come here expecting your mind to be blown away as you would at say the Rosewood Beijing or some of their North American / European properties."
