Where to stay in Sanya
Sanya hotels & accommodations

Wonderful location in sanya - maybe the best beach where you can enter water safely and play. Beach beds etc has very poor service(you pick - clean the beds and also clean the left over garbage from before as well) pool is great - water slide is best for this kind of resort. Perfect for kids. Pool has wonderful trees giving shade - don’t worry about the sun. Beach as ...

Aegean Conifer Suites Resorts is still one of the best options on Sanya's exclusive Yalong Bay. Only very few of the hotels are truly ON the beach, and this is one of them. The hotel is well designed. Its not fully western, but pretty much there. The buildings and landscaped gardens are excellently maintained and the swimming pools compliment the overall feel without t...

I stayed at MGM Grand Sanya over Easter Holiday with my family, including my parents, and 2 young children. We were pleasantly surprised at the layout of our rooms which is a connected room with a living room and half bathroom in the middle. One room had 2 Queen beds and a large balcony, and the other room has a King bed. There is a lot of activity in the hotel for ev...

we stayed 2 nights at le parker and 2 nights in other hotel in sanya. compared to other hotels, le parker is located right at the city center, it's only walking distance to the beach, nice restaurants, phoenix island...etc. our room was upgraded to city view executive room, it's spacious with a small kitchen and a living room. the bathroom is attached with huge bathtub...

Most local staff speak or understand very little English. The Expat staff members on site however are most helpful, professional and friendly. For the price paid, it represents excellent value for money. However, do not come here expecting your mind to be blown away as you would at say the Rosewood Beijing or some of their North American / European properties.

I had booked two rooms for our 4 nights stay but was told one of the rooms was still not ready when we arrived, which was post the hotel’s standard check in time. Instead of trying to organise another room for our tired family members to rest, the check in staff Miss Zheng couldn’t careless. End result was that the five of us had to squeeze in one room for almost two h...

We've stayed at the Lakeview Premier Family Suite for 4 nights. There were few things that really touched our hearts and made us feel very much at home in Sanya. 1). It was my son's birthday on the 2nd day of our stay. Although I didn't mention it in our booking, a complementary cake was delivered to our room on that day. My children were very happy. 2). We were wel...

The room is large, nice, clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly. The loaction is good, 3min' walk to the beach. They also have shuttle bus every 30mins to the beach for free. My parents also like the swimming pool a lot. Also there are shopping malls and supermarket near the hotel. Will stay in this hotel when come to Sanya again. Really recommand hiahia.

We stayed in the Anantara Sanya Resort & Spa for 5 days and 4 nights. We booked the delex ocean room . You can look at a beautiful sea view at the balcony. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back in future! Becoz this hotel really gave us a relaxing moments all the times! Also, we never experiences such a friendly and perfect services in oth...

Great place but unmotivated staff and noisy customers are wasting the pleasure. Bad points: 1. If you are not used to Chinese people jungle during vacations and Chinese environment, no need for you to come. This hotel is mostly dedicated to Chinese people, the staff doesn't speak English at all - 1 staff over dozens did get few words. Even more: if you have choice bet...

Clearly the best hotel in Sanya, if you can afford the price, you must stay for at least a day! The pool villa is very comfortable with good privacy, it is reliable even if swimming! The breakfast is very delicious, I think it is the best I have ever had in any hotels. The hotel private beach is good, it is not easy for others to enter so it is quiet. There is also...

Been using this hotel for our stays in Sanya for many years, but service seems to have seriously deteriorated. Lack of English speaking staff, poor cleanliness at the break fast buffet, and the loss of food choices all illustrated this. Love the building and location, but was disappointed.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. Our room was the perfect size and furnished appropriately for a romantic getaway for two. We especially liked the openness between the bathroom and the main part of the room. VERY close to the beach; you just have to cross the road (through a private tunnel) and you are there. But there's not really any need to go to the beach when t...

We stayed here for a night to celebrate my birthday. Service was excellent from the concierge to the front desk, restaurant and house keeping. We were checked-in by Lucy and she was really helpful and very welcoming. Even when checking-out, she helped us until we had went inside the car. We had lunch in one of the hotel restaurant and met Stephanie. (I forgot the name...

rooms are large, views can be great and hotel seems better organised under new management. they seem to understand the importance of getting quality staff. great breakfast, especially if agoda get it included in room price. western buffet dinner is great by western standards, but mainland china is becoming very sophisticated and for this to be value, the hotel need...

I really enjoyed my stay in westin haitang bay. The staff are helpful and friendly. Location is quite far away from sanya that the minus point. They have the best pools and beach. Hotel rooms are fantastic Food choice is limited but I still will come back again if I'm gg sanya.

This is a fantastic hotel. I would not call it a "luxury" hotel but for the price it is a wonderful deal. We traveled to Sanya for a weekend escape from mainland China. Our garden view room on the first floor was HUGE with a large bed and massive bathroom which included a tub and rain shower. Our bedroom opened to a little deck and had a private entry into the pool....

Most hotel staffs are rude. Couldn't speak English. There's no hotel airport transfer service and hardly can get a cab before 8am. Please take note for those guest who wish to stay there and do has a early morning flight. Staff just don't bother to help you. The place is very nice just that the China people really pissed me off. I will not go there again.

This was our second time to stay at St.Regis Sanya. It’s a great place to get away and relax. It has awesome facilities and most of all it has the best service in China!!! We’ve never experienced a service like theirs. Everyone was friendly and eager to help. Special thanks to David, Nicky and Adward from concierge. They were so kind and accommodating. We will definite...

Nice hotel with no direct access to the sea although 5mn walk to go there through just in front of the Pullman. We had booked a pool villa, wonderful stay over there. But i do not really recommand other standard room in this hotel. Pretty nice and spacious but maybe you can find better qulity/price rate elsewhere. The swimming pool is deceiving, quite dirty at the bott...

A great value for the money, we had a beautiful pool villa. Still, the service at the hotel, with the exception of one lady, was average at best. If Sanya is to compete against the likes of Thailand/PH for Chinese tourists, this should be improved. All that said, I would highly recommend this hotel to others. The 'private' beaches were not so great.

I stayed here for one night before leaving Sanya. The hotel and surrounding area are new. Awesome spot if you're just arriving into or soon to be leaving from the airport. Great value for the money. Clean and modern. I would definitely recommend this property. They even have a robot that takes you to your room. Just follow her.
Cheap places to stay in Sanya

This was my second time in Sanya and I knew I wanted to stay close to Dadonghai, its best beach. This was one of the cheapest options close to the beach - and I am so happy for this booking! 5 minutes walk to the beach, free towels and surfing boards from the hostel, a nice veranda to have breakfast in the morning, cheap bar at the hostel and a super market just around...

Pros 1. River View is Excellent, Big Room 2. WiFi in Room, Full Amenities eg. Hair Dryer, Soap, Shampoo, Shaver, Electric Kettle, Tea Bags 3. All Around are Shops, Farmers Market, Night Market, Halal Restaurant, Service 8 (Bus Stop Farmers Market) to Airport, All other Buses to Tourist Attractions , Sanya Bridge Cons 1. Bed Mattress is Stiff 2. Hot Shower is Boiling...

Very good location, buses can reach anywhere of Sanya, a very large shopping centre just close by, three min. walk to the beach, the sunset of Sanya bay is stunning! Never see so beautiful sunset before. The hotel is small but service not bad. Recommend to stay really.

I saw a lot of travellers comment this hotel on its location, most of them think it's too far from downtown, but for me I think it is a perfect location. Unlike the crowded beach, it's very quite and clean. And the room is suitable for family stay, you can cook also. If choose only point I am not very satisfied, that is the furniture and facility seem to be a little ol...

I was there 3 days and it was great. Everything was fine. Breakfast is not included my booking but I paid on site and they offer chinese and western and costs 20 and 48 rmb. Swimming pool is nice but when I was there it was so cold due to colder weather. staffs are very friendly and can speak english very well if compare with other same rate hotels located Dadonhai are...

Keeping brief because of Agoda's word limit Pros: + good air con + reasonably comfortable bed + each room has its own router with reasonable WiFi connection + the elevators work Cons: 1: it's Jiantu 87 not "Barry Jiantu City Inn" and is around corner on a different block to the KTV mentioned as being opposite. Confusing to find even for taxi driver 2. strong stenc...

Hotel rooms were new, big and clean. Very comfortable stay. Requested for a high floor with big sized bed and got it! The hotel has direct access to the beach, just 30seconds away but no private beach - in a sense they do not have their own sun-deck chairs unfortunately they have their own rooftop garden which is very nice to sit down and overlook the whole sea and s...

The day of check in, I found the the room was dusty & few mosquitoes were inside the room, it was because the windows were open when no guest occupied the room. The toilet was stink and dirty, only 4 pieces four pieces of toilet paper was there. After the shower, I just realized there was no towel in the room, I had called the housekeeper for four times to send me the...

Pros: Fast check-in; spacious room with carpet; next to a bus stop; walking distance to the beach and Summer Shopping Mall; lots of restaurants and stalls nearby; 300m from the Sanya Duty-free shop. Cons: No WIFI in room; dark corridors, so-so breakfasts.

I originally booked this hotel with a Chinese travel agency, which advertised this hotel as accepting Visa cards. The reception staff were unable to successfully swipe either of my cards, or to communicate in English. So for the first night, I paid cash. Reaching my room, I immediately booked the remaining nights using agoda, which had no trouble accepting my credit...

I am very happy with my choice though it is a new hotel, very quiet, close to beach, and also close to the local town, nice to walk around in the evening. Free shuttle to the beach and wuzhizhou islet, very nice service. The staff are friendly, some speak enough English. I would recommend this hotel for a budget stay on Haitang Bay. They serve western breakfast.

my trip was free and easy..from haikou to sanya via high speed train..when reach sanya, i never thought the public transport actually stop near to this hotel..the station is 'yi fang bai huo' a plaza just next to baosheng...convenient...the staff is helpful to show us the direction and the bus no. we should take i choose per night room (triple beds) type..room is clean...

Having earlier stayed at a budget hotel in Sanya (for about half the price), the difference between rooms was like night and day. We stayed in the older wing, which is across the road from the main building. The room and furnishings are in excellent condition, very clean, it was every bit the 4-star room that was advertised. Staff were friendly, buffet breakfast was gr...

The hotel rather poor about facilities, and rather old about room condition. The rooms are not well cleaned, the walls are dirty in some places, old, the mattress on the bed was so old and sagging - ipossible to sleep well. In the same case location is very good, and staff are very helpful

Overall stay was ok. This is a Condominium turned mini hotel. The room is location on the 6th floor out of around 20 floors, there is a balcony facing the sea, however it has a low floor. Room was decent but a little aging due to its business operation for about 4 years for this hotel. Room does not come with any Soap or shampoo, but they do provide a towel if you ask....

i visited sanya recently for a conference and stayed at the landscape beach hotel (liking beach resort is the sign on the hotel) for 3 days. they have very beautiful and clean rooms, well maintained lounge and good conference halls. the service is very good and quick although language is a problem. however, you can get what you need with the correct hand gestures and t...

Check in was fast. They had the room ready with my name when I arrived. The lady (her name was Cherry, I believe)spoke decent English, understood what I needed. The room was clean, toileteries complete and with a nice balcony. The pool is nice, clean, and very relaxing. Its facing the sea. Beer, coconut water etc is available at the pool side. There is a pool for the k...

This hotel is very good. Very convenient location for fishermen. There is lake from back side of hotel and you can go fishing. Many Russian restaurants are around hotel where you can try many different things. The weather in April was also nice so you can enjoy lazing at the beach. Water quality is also OK. I can recommend this hotel because price is not very high.

this is one of the best resorts at sanya,, you will find here everything makes u happy, this hotel have a very nice private beach,, also there are many restaurants arround the hotel, the breakfast was very nice,, i dont eat chinese food so it was very nice for me to find western food,, also there are many places arround u can visit and spend good times.

Was disappointed upon arrived, rooms are small and very old, views are lousy, even Singapore budget hotel are much better. Should have not change my hotel (stayed at 2 hotels in sanya during my visit),pros were very convenience to the shops, beach with many food, hotel staffs are friendly and helpful, breakfast so so. Receive a very warm and friendly service from front desk staff name Coco, although there is a little hiccup during check in due to some miscommunication internally between hotel department & Agoda however Coco did try her best to resolve our issue, She is thoughtful enough to arrange immediate check in for us when she saw we are extreme tired from our trip. We are the...

We have been living in China for 8 years & stayed at many hotels & I would not recommend anyone to come to this hotel. It is miles away from anything, there is nothing outside the resort area, no small shops or places to eat, and is a minimum 30 minute drive into the city. firstly we rented a garden view room that advertised a fridge, that it doesn't have, then we wer...

Four Points by Sheraton Hainan Hotel is a 4-star hotel, just only 15 km away and this hotel can be easily accessed from the airport. Have a very good time stay at the hotel. It is close to the beach and near to other activities, the staff is very helpful but the English speaking are poor as all over China, but thing in the future it will be very good, I will go back to Sanya soon and then stay at the David Legend Resort again and again

we stayed at this very well furnished and comfortable hotel. the hotel is so comfy we had difficulty leaving the hotel hehe. the hotel is not located at the touristy area, henceforth it may not be very convenient if you do not have a driver. hotel arranged for a very helpful driver for us, so that works out for us. the dinner steamboat buffet was slightly disappointing...

The main reason i choose this hotel is becuase of price, it got 5 star rating, on the agoda website, i pay for $59 which is about RMB372, i was thinking wow, a 5 star for that hotel, what a bargain, But when I arrive the hotel lobby, I was very disappointed, service is very poor, it is not a 5 star hotel, I will give a 3 star only... The karaoke was seriously loud and echoed in the hall. but that's why i always have earplugs in Asia. The front desk staff spoke not a word of English. It was a good stay but nothing special. No cushions on the chairs at the pool. no water in the hot tub. Main pool was very clean.

Overall ok, nice view, nice environment. Even thought they do provide some kind of golf car service to send you out to the main road, but it's not convenience especially when raining season. I experienced wait almost half an hour for waiting the golf car to take me in,(Cab aren't allow to enter the resort) and i'm getting wet while waiting.

There is no english name of the hotel. When we arrive in taxi, we saw a book store (using the same entrance as the hotel). The reception is not good but the staff is very friendly. When we check in the hotel, we are surprise how spacious and clean. However, when they build the hotel, they try to make it very nice but not very practice. For example, the aircon is h...

Room was quite comfortable and modern. Good spread in the breakfast buffet, including many Western options. Good option for a family with small children or for those who don't want to move around Sanya too much and want to stay away from crowd of the city or Yalong Bay. Many people were lounging comfortably on the pool side. Staff was quite friendly and helpful. 10-1...

it was terrible to stay in this hotel. people in front desk can not speak english well, and even in tour desk. We complained so many time that cold water is not flooding in my room during our staying period, and I called people who conerned but they do nothing at all. I really don't recommend to stay this hotel!

The first room I was given, I could not open the door from the inside anymore as mechanism was faulty. The room was not clean. Then I received another room, but it was dirty too. The next day they just made the bed, no cleaning or folding of towels at all. After complaining, it was somewhat cleaner for 2 days, thereafter no cleanu up anymore until I left after 8 days. ...

What a gem of a hotel, we went at the end of Sept 2015, and were expecting it to be very local however, there were a mixed range of people. The only downside is that we have to take an hour taxi ride to the Hotel from Sanya international airport. Cost us around RMB450. Real reviews for hotels
Most of the places we wanted to visit were closed and had been for years, even though I found them online.
Fun and sun in China. One of the best cities in China--and little pollution. Something for everyone here.
For those who loves Sun and Beaches are okay. But no shopping and it takes 30 mins to a very small town with nothing special.
Nice beaches over there and the new hotels and beaches on the eastern side of Sanya are better than the old ones established in Sanya bay
I'm impressed by the quality of the hotels there, a lot of international hotel joints and affordable rates.
Sanya is a beautiful place but it is very expensive comparing to any other similar places. Pricy and you do not get quality
The beach & resort was very beauty and attractive and just things that the hawker centre like food stall need to improve more.
Sanya has many nice hotels and hardware is very well built, but what it lacks is the service and the "software" of the city
Sanya is the "Hawaii of Asia". Clean beaches and good night life. not much variety, but ok if one finds the right places.
Nice relaxing area for chilling out and for sun worshippers. However most of the attractions and food are overpriced.
The weather of sanya in Winter is not as warm as what the travel agent said (tropical waether, coolest day is only around 20 degree celcius), it can drop down to around 10 degree celcius.
i love Sanya, i've been there few times this year. i totally enjoy the hotel and the service. love the clean beaches.
Language Barrier is a huge problem, if you speak English. Sanya beach area is grubby and same same same.
During our stay heavy smog was covering Hainan – the sun was barely shining through the air pollution.
Hotel staffs with fair english standard. Famous chicken dish. High living standard. Not convinence traffic amoung the city.
You know what, I expected a whole lot better. For people living on or near the beach, they are not the happiest lot I have met.
The food is good and the prices is reasonable. The public bus network is okay. But many taxi drivers are asking more than the exact amount and they are irresponsible and dishonest.
The beaches are nice, but still need a lot of improvement to become an international tourism destination.
Absolutely unreasonable overpriced place in everything (hotels, food, service, transportation) with very mediocre (or lower) service, can’t imagine why do people go there at all for several times… Sea water is very clear and nice but cold (22-23'C) - you can't swim for hours.
Attractions can be quite expensive however, if you have friends over there, they might help you to get cheaper prices!
It's really important to be able to speak mandarin if you come here. Actually, nothing much to do here.
This is a sunny and hot island with sea surrounded. Sea water is clear. There are also lots of kind of food here, all over China as well as international food.
I won't recommend anything about Sanya, the only reason you will need to be sanya is to attend some seminars.
Sanya City is a tropical city. It enjoys clean seawater, fresh air, beautiful beaches and bright sunshine and is rich in natural tropical scenery and historical sites.
you can walk along Sanya Bay at night and you will see there are lots of people dancing and having fun there.
Impressed sea view, must visit Yalong Bay, Sanya Bay, Dadonghai all these sea view areas, night sightseeing must go to Luhuitou , you can enjoy nice whole city view over Sanya.
Nice beach & good food. Unfortunately, it was not safe in the street due to too many pick pockets & poor hygiene.
I came to Sanya from Singapore and there aren't any direct flights so it's a bit of a trek to get here.
Sanya has long coast and beaches like Gold Coast with lots of condos. Cheaper than Gold coast but not as well developed.
Great tropics place to visit (especially for pple who like experiencing the nature and enjoy beaches and sand)
