Staff went the extra mile”
When we arrived we were put up in a room that was not to our liking. We were upgraded to the best room in the hotel the next day after we complained. The location is spectacular. The price reasonable for what you get. When we left we forgot something important and the concierge service went out of their way to get it to us in the next place we visited in India. The food in the restaurant was good and the rooftop dining gives a great view of the Ganges. Highly recommended

Hidden Gem ”
This hotel is absolutely fantastic and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the staff to the restaurant there isn’t anything we could find fault with. It’s location right on the Ganges was a highlight for us, we couldn’t have imagined staying anywhere else. The food at the restaurant was outstanding.

Perfect location”
We stayed here for 3 nights in March 2020. Are room was on the top floor with a large terrace outside overlooking the Ganges. It was so nice to just jump out of bed to watch the sunrise each morning. The hotel provides a complimentary boat trip to the Aarti ceremony each evening which we took advantage of one night and the other night they dropped us off and we watched it from the steps. The hotel has some lovely seating areas and an outside cafe directly next to the steps. We really loved the location of this hotel.

A boutique hotel on the water front”
Recently my son and I visited Varanasi. We found Guletia Kothi ideal for our short stay there This quaint hotel on the Ganges has very friendly and helpful staff, their smiling boatmen (special mention goes for Mr Ram) ferried us to different ghats for morning temple visits and evening outings. The view of the river flowing from the terrace was very tranquil. The ambience and the decor of the hotel were aesthetically pleasing, the cleanliness of our room was very satisfying too. On the whole we had an enjoyable stay there..

Gratis boat transfers to other ghats for transit to the city was very useful. Excellent location and very good service. Food was of good quality. Room tarriff will probably not suit all budgets, But probably due to Kumbh in neighbouring Prayagraj.

Excellent”
This is a difficult review to write. We originally booked 3 nights in this hotel but ended up leaving one night earlier than planned, the reason being that during our visit the water level of Gange river was above the level of danger. This caused the first 2 floors of the hotel to be completely submerged, we could see the river going up in the staircase. Regardless of this huge issue, and surprisingly so, our 2 nights stay at Guleria Kothi was very enjoyable thanks to the very helpful and kind staff, the comfortable rooms and the EXCELLENT food cooked in the hotel restaurant..breakfasts and dinners were without any doubt the highlight of the experience. The location and the view from the terrace are also very nice (don't miss the sunrise on the Gange!). I am sure that with the normal Gange level this is the place to book in Varanasi to enjoy some chill out and fully recover after a long day spent by the river banks or through the intense labyrinthine alleys.

Perfect location with walking distance to the main celebration site, stunning views, good food, great staff at the restaurant (except the man at the reception from the morning shift was difficult in communication), room little small, but pretty and clean. I recommend this hotel!

Location location location ”
This hotel is within steps of the main cremation site and evening ceremony. In the heart of the action, this is a clean hotel with smaller rooms. The bathroom is functional and beds are firm but comfortable. Vegetarian morning breakfast was delicious.

Beautiful view but nothing else ”
The location is excellent but it is very difficult to move around. The lanes are been dug for sewage repair which makes it impossible to move around. Boat service is available but hotel provided ones are very expensive. Internet service and wifi provided is pathetic, we been working from home had to check out to a different hotel as we had some important tele conference. Since it is along the river mobile network is very poor. Please avail this hotel only if you are on complete vacation and would like to rest and enjoy the river view. For anything else I would suggest to avoid this hotel.

The location is amazing just in the side of ganga river, you can see the sunrise from there, the food is great, the room is pretty ok, they give you a free boat ride along side the river its a great deal also.

Access”
It was unfortunate that we did not stay at this hotel even though we had paid for it, since the access was difficult - ie the access to the boat jetty from the city side, requires going up or down a series of difficult steps which some folks ( my wife in this instance) could find it difficult especially if they have problems with their knees / lower limbs. This may be brought to the notice of potential guests who can then take a call before making a reservation. THE RATINGS DO NOT REFLECT OUR EXPERIENCE AT THE PROPERTY - It is low only because there is no option for a " not applicable " or " did not use" situation

The hotel does not have access to road. You can reach by boat arranged by hotel upon calling by phone. Boat is complimentary only during arrival and departure. Other than that you need to pay everyone you go out or come back to the hotel. I don't recommend people to stay here because of this inconvenience and hidden costs of boat ride

Beautiful Property...poor management ”
There is no free PARKING in fact there is no parking what so ever. Please get details of how to reach the property prior to your arrival. Also Double room cost is supposedly different for a signal occupancy and double occupancy so please don't take it for granted that your 9 year kid can stay along with you if you have mentioned 1 adult in thecroom during your booking. Shekhar at reception can do with little more customer care training. Faizan was helpful but cdnt save my experience from going extremely unpleasant at this beautiful property.

One of the best if you want to stay on the ghats”
Guleria Kothi is a hidden gem and we reaslised this only after we reached there. There is no way to reach the hotel by car. Best is to get off the cab at Raj Ghat and call the hotel for a boat. It’s a 10 min boat ride. The restaurant Guleria Cafe has a limited menu but easily makes up for it by the quality of food, ambience, location and great staff. It’s the only cafe by the Ganges with an expansive view without the crowds. Go there while it’s still that way. The rooms were small but perhaps not by the standards of the location but we were 2 adults with our teenage daughter and we managed well. The best rooms are those with the river view and you can see the sunrise right from your room. The evening boat ride with Ganga Aarti is complimentary. I would strongly recommend this hotel in Varanasi

Perfect choice of Hotel”
The Guleria was great! Perfect location, helpful staff, delicious food, and the accommodations were modern enough for comfort but kept the historic feel of the building and surrounding area. Location is right on the Ganges and close enough to the Ghats without being right in the middle of things. Ask for Deepak as a guide. He showed us around and was very knowlegable and helpful.
