I was most impressed that the hotel staff took note of my requests for different room's bed arrangements when the requests were written in a small column. I wasn prepared to be granted those requests. The reception staff was most helpful with recommending places of visits, and even helping me with planning, providing reliable transport services with careful drivers. They were patient with our family when we had no itinerary planned. At the end of the stay in Harbin, my children said it was a well planned out trip! The rooms were warm. Very warm. The thermostat didn't seem to work.

Hotel room is very clean and comfortable. Staff is very helpful to help us check in early. Just few steps away from Zhong Yang Da Jie, main shopping and eating areas, where you can also easily get a cab.

The only down side : majority of their front desk staff including the supervisor have difficulty in speaking and understanding English. Its very challenging. I just hope that they will be taught how to speak English (the basic words) so they can engage better.

This hotel is very central to where we need to be and access to many places to shop and eat. The Red Lion Bar was a let down with no one staffing it whilst we were in there and the same play list played over about 10 times.

Only Satisfactory, not as expected for Holiday Inn”
I guess Holiday Inn (China) has lower expectation and qualities compare to those in Europe or Other part of Asia. The carpet along the hall way need to be change, the security guard need to learn to be more polite or courteous, the receptionist need to be trained better (a cheaper hotel in harbin that we stayed b4 here has better training and knowledgeable staff than this hotel). The heating system still need to be fixed, sometimes its cold sometimes its hot, even when to set it to cool or vice versa. The breakfast buffet is 50/50, food quantities is good, but lack in qualities. I request for some special request from the hotel but nobody from the hotel reply me or even update me if I would be getting it or not? I don't usually stay in "expensive" hotel chain as I dont believe that they will offer better service & qualities that cheaper hotel can give, and this hotel prove that Im right. The only good thing about this stay is the location and the helpful bell boy.

Location is the hotel is great. Walking distance to Zhongyang Street just need to cross one traffic light. And a great old food stall that sells grill squid, grilled chicken and grilled mushroom at local prices. Except for that staff that are not professional in terms of customer service. At check-in, I requested for Bellboy services to help me bring my luggage from the taxi. Instead the staff kept asking me for my passport to process check-in. Secondly, they staff asked me to pay a deposit of RMB1, 500 for my 2 night stay when my total bill is RMB700plus. After I asked why, then they realise they made a mistake in the deposit amount. The staff needs to polish their customer service skills.

The pictures of the bathroom are nothing like what you get ”
Location is great but for the price we paid, the rooms are horrible. They are out-dated and in dire need of renovation. The decor is like granny’s house and not the modern look you’d expect from the brand. The bathroom looked like something you would find in a cheap hostel or old public toilet. The Holiday Inn brand should be ashamed to have its name on the building. The pictures, especially of room, do not represent the hotel correctly. The bathroom is completely different - old and I wouldn’t shower in it. Disgusting! The Red Lion pub in the lobby has no food and sells a small selection of bottled beer at extortionate prices. Such a shame as it looks like a nice pub. Staff were helpful. We arrived early so the room wasn’t ready but they let us put the bags in the room. It was handy but I didn’t really feel comfortable walking into a dirty room that hadn’t been cleaned seeing the state the previous guest had left it in knowing that this was the room I was later staying in. I lost faith in this brand and will think twice about staying at any Holiday Inn hotel in the future. I’ve also lost faith in agoda and the way they have handled my complaint is unacceptable. If the issue is not resolved, I’ll be booking my hotels through another company in future.

Two days in Harbin”
Staying at the Holiday Inn Harbin City Centre made my stay in Harbin most enjoyable. The Sophia Church is walking distance. Center Street is just across the street where I was able to experience some local food and also do all the shopping I needed for gifts from Harbin. I went to attend the Ice Festival and there is a small Park within walking distance that had sculptures on display. That was enjoyable to see. And then to take a taxi to the Ice World was not more than 25-30 RMB from the Hotel. And with all these things so easily accessible the staff at the Hotel front desk did all they could to make my stay enjoyable. I really enjoyed my stay here at this Hotel and recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Harbin.

Great location, but language difficulties”
We traveled to Harbin for the purpose of seeing the Ice and Snow Festival. We went the last weekend of February and just made it before it all closed. We stayed at the Holiday Inn and really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly, although not at all fluent in English. We ended up getting what we needed though. The restaurants were good, but our favorite was the Red Lion bar. Good food, nice atmosphere and pleasant staff. The best part of the hotel was the location. Right at the end of the pedestrian street so when we were done walking down to the river and back, we were back in the warm hotel.

The Best Choice”
For a comfortable stay while visiting Harbin in winter, this is the best choice. It was warm and had good breakfast options. Definitely use the help desk in the foyer to arrange taxis for you. It is much better standing inside the warm hotel while you wait and its good to have a Chinese speaker to relay your destination clearly to the driver. We tried to get one ourselves and were duped into a strange snow park near the main tourist attractions.

Fantastic location; hotel was located just outside the set-down point for the bus from Harbin Airport and the start of Zhongyang St. They also had this buffet hotpot (and unlimited beer) for a very reasonable price which was fantastic (~$20AUDpp from memory?).

Lovely hotel,great loation”
We had a hassle free holiday staying at this hotel. the staff did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They were kind enough to upgrade our rooms which also came with breakfast on the house but they should have informed the restaurant about this facility. The hotel is in a prime location and we enjoyed walking to the nearby shopping malls. The hotel has several restaurants to choose from so if you just want to stay-in, this is not a problem.

Stay for 3 nights with another couple unfortuneatley their room was like an "oven" upon check-in,called reception & sent the maintainence guys unable to fix,room change with no hassle! Breakfast on last morning(3rd)was a disaster,at 8.30am most of the food was empty on the servery.Alot of staff but no one seen to care maybe after an early rush!!! The chinese restaurant on the first floor was highly recommended serving cantonese cuisine..at a resonable price or very cheap for our exchange rate (aussie).

The hotel is located at the center which is near the walking street that you just walk across to. It's easy for you to go shopping and find some local dining places. The hotel staffs and bell man could speak English a little bit but they are willing to help you all the time. All in all, it's a nice hotel with the reasonable price from agoda.

I was stop by in Harbin one night, and i find that this hotel location is nice ,near to the mainly sight seen and shopping centre. This hotel need to refresh the room furnish and do some maintain such as the toilet. The staff performance should be improve ,especially the bell boy they are not helpful and they wouln't help us to carry our baggage .
