Ganges Ghats”
The staff at Ganesha were very helpful (they even held my bag for 2 days while I went to Bodh Gaya, and stayed up late for me to return). The food was good and reasonable, prepared on the spot, when ordered. The hotel is on the east end of the ghats, very near Assi Ghat, so a good place to begin the site seeing.

Very Good”
Firstly the couple of down things. Noisy air conditioning unit in my room. It meant turning it on and off during the night, which resulted in a disturbed night's sleep. It could do with a good servicing. I stayed 7 night's and there was only one service clean of the room the entire time. A bit more regularly would be nicer. So that's out the way. Now the far more many good points. Location is fantastic. 150 - 200 rupees Tuk Tuk ride from the train station to Assi Ghat. Within walking distance of all the markets, ghats, temples and much more, otherwise rickshaws and tuk tuks are readily available. The resturant wasn't open while I was there, but no problem. So many resturant's and street food within 2 - 5 mins. The staff are all friendly and helpful. But the number one good point of this hotel has to be Ajay, the waking tour guide. This service is provided free by the hotel. Ajay takes these which are more than just a walk round. Hungry, he'll suggest you want to try something and take you there. Need a ride, he'll get you a good price. Need to buy something, he'll sort you the right place. Something wrong he'll do his best to make sure your alright. Ajay is a number 1 guy. Overall I had a very good stay at Hotel Ganesha and would certainly recommend other travelers try and stay here.

Excellent Helpful Staff”
This hotel was amazing value for the money. The AC and water pressure worked better than most of the other places we stayed while in India. The hotel is within easy walking distance to Assi Ghat and there were always rickshaws available on the street to take you wherever you needed to go/ The hotel was also able to get transportation for guests. One of the things that made our stay amazing is that the hotel offered us a place to shower the night after our check out since we wanted to go explore more before our overnight train trip. It was quite hot during July and being able to shower before leaving for the train station really helped us out and saved us from having to pay for a room for an extra night that we wouldn't use. We very much enjoyed this hotel and the staff. we would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a good budget hotel and doesn't mind a couple of roly polies in the bathroom. (we didn't!)

Nice, low budget hotel”
We were on a backpacking tour around India and chose this hotel in Varanasi, because the price per night was very low, but we read many, and only positive reviews about it. It definitely is a low budget hotel, but the rooms were clean, and we felt safe there. No worries regarding leaving our stuff there when we went out, we also felt safe nighttime, when sleeping. The staff was very helpful too.

good location, not the best, 80% clean and comfort”
Our stay is Ganesha was pleasant. They staff is helpful and warmhearted. The room is 80% clean and comfortable as we found that their bed sheets were not the most modern and cleanest - maybe because of the material of the bed sheets itself. Their roof restaurant is not so clean because of some ash. The room we stayed in has no windows, so when taking the shower, not so comfortable. It is close to the river by 5 min walk. The hotel offers a very very good boat tour with around 8 USD for a near 3 hour tour along the Ganga River. The boat man was very friendly and true. Overall, the hotel is nice to stay if you are not picky. Particularly, they manager and staff are great.

Nice start of a trip of India”
The hotel has a nice location, very near to the Assi Ghat. Easy to find when taking a Tutu to the river side. THe room is clean, but an non-conditional room is a bit hot in the evening, even in early October. Considering the environment, the price is not so cheap, but OK. The staff in the hotel is nice, introduces a lot to me, and said they can send one staff with me to hang around by free(although I dont need it). It is a great place to start your trip, but if you have more time, you can find much cheaper hotel inside the valleys. If only 1-2 nights stay, I think it is nice.

Good choice for a wonderful stay”
Not a good start here, with having to ask for towel, soap, and toilet paper, and then requesting a tip (did not get one). But after that, the staff were friendly and helpful, the roomquite clean and spacious ,for India. Noise from the road was a minor problem, but it all dies doewn at night. Quite well located, near Assi Ghat, and overall a pretty good choice in wonderful, vibrant Varanasi.

Excellent place to stay, excellent $$”
My stay at Hotel Ganesha exceeded my expectations. The manager and staff quickly helped me settle in and pointed me where I needed to go. For me they arranged a much needed massage after a nasty fall and took care of my laundry. Travelers from the US will notice that accomodations in India are not the same as at home, but I will say that this hotel staff worked very hard and quickly handled any needs. Lastly, I have one particular appreciation for the manager who was not able to fulfill my booking due to a guest who was unable to check out. I had been traveling from nearby Allahabad in severe traffic and arrived at the hotel very late, just hours before my departing flight to Dehli/Mumbai. The manager and staff provided me with a cot in staff quarters so that I would have a safe place to sleep and a sure fire way to get to the airport. Much appreciated! You will never find US grade WiFi, but the connection here was just fine for my limited needs.

From The Moment We Walked In..........”
My wife and I blew into varanarsi at the end of a four week pilgramage threw some of the beatiful & Ancient spots of northern India. As anyone who has traveled in India knows one day in India can seem like seven years or more. And at that moment we'd been on the road 3 weeks. From the the moment we entered this hotel we felt like we had reached our home away from home. Three minnets after walkin in the humble but imaculate lobby we are in our clean & well laid out room taking hot showers. The manager was warm and friendly .He arranged a car to transport us to The maha Kumbha Mela, changed dollors and kindly made our trip more enjoyable. The hotel boys always had a smile & where helpful, not money grubbing vultures that you sometimes find in other Indian hotels. Loved the place and am counting the days 'til I can return. If your looking for a mid priced "homey" hotel LOOK NO FURTHER !

Great location & clean”
Stayed for 3 nights during Diwali, which is not the most quiet time of the year, but the hotel even close to one of the major ghat is way more quiet than main roads. You can walk along the ghat from the hotel, enjoy the rooftop terrace, even go the cinema just close to it. We did not eat there as it was not included in our nights, but you have restaurants on the Assi Ghat with a great view if you need anything.

Clean budget hotel with friendly staff”
Overall really good. Budget accommodation but its clean, clean sheets, towels and bathroom. Staff are friendly with good english. Location is quite close to Assi Ghat. Downside is there is no restaurant on site, only basic breakfast and tea/cold drinks available.

value for money, friendly honest people.”
I was very lucky to get the only room on the rooftop. It was a quit room with a nice view. The people of the hotel were very friendly and very helpful. i was only there for 24 hours so I had to be efficient in what to do when. Arriving at the hotel (later than expected because of delay of train) the hotel people immediately informed me about how i could manage my program. Checking out i almost paid double because i forgot I booked it with a website where i already paid the full amount. The receptionist was so nice to ask if i could please check my emails (although i had the money in my hand and ready to go) because he strongly believed i already paid. Good place, good location, good price. What more to you need?

Nice hotel, with friendly staff.”
We loved this hotel, as it was nearby to some great eateries in the Asi Ghat area. The staff were friendly, and they were not pushy at all with tours. Plenty of hot water as well! Overall, a great stay for us.

A clean space in Varanasi”
Hotel Ganesha was absolutely ok for our needs while we were in Varanasi. It's a little too far away (3km) from the old city but there were some decent food options around. It was clean and quiet ( a blessing in Varanasi) and the staff were helpful enough. Only problem was the number of ants in the bedroom. Other than that it was good enough for a couple of nights.

Hotel Ganesha”
I stay on this hotel for 1 night and the room was great. Food from the restaurant is awesome but they have smaller servings compare to other hotel. Overall, it was a good deal for me to stay on this hotel.
