        Excellent basic hotel”

        In a beach strip where all the fancy hotels seem to get poor reviews for services, maintenance and cleanliness, Thushara takes the opposite approach. Keep it simple - this is not a fancy hotel, but a basic older property - but keep it very clean, well maintained, and friendly. Pool is so nice and so clean. Balconies are nice. Comfortable bed. Good breakfasts and a la carte meals by the pool (especially Vijay's Daal Fry - best dish I've had in 2 weeks in India!). Don't come with high star expectations, but enjoy this lovey little hotel.

        Excellent place”

        Fantastic hotel with fantastic staff. Value for money with a lovely clean pool. The hotel had a lovely relaxed feel. Staff were helpful and respectful with the boss especially friendly. We arrived early and they gave us the room early, totally unexpected. We also got a fridge, which again we didn't expect. Only downfall was lack of safe. For the price it was excellent, but if us s basic hotel. Wifi in reception only. Residents did reserve sunbeds though, but we always managed to get beds. I will definitely stay again. For a fantastic deal through Agoda.

        Standard AC room value for money close to beach”

        The rooms were clean with good air-conditioning. The USP is walkable distance to hawa beach . It takes a minute to reach beach . Swimming pool was neat and clean with a small pool for kids. Only thing I would point out is lack of running kitchen at the hotel to provide at least breakfast and the amenties listed had cable tv but only free channels were available, had to follow with hotel owner to get some popular entertainment and movie channels, cartoon channel added to be able to spend some with family post 8:00 pm in hotel room

        Would certainly stay again.”

        This is a very nice medium size hotel. I was surprised how quiet it was as it was nearly full. The pool was never so busy. I think most people went out during the day although the pool area was very nice. It was only 50 metres from the beach and the restaurants but was quiet so the location is fine. The breakfast was a little dull and would be improved by providing fruit. I hope to stay again next year.

        Gem of a place”

        location, very short distance to beach and restaurants; clean and decent size swimming pool; very quiet and peaceful

        Excellent stay, a surprisingly peaceful haven so close to the beach and bustle of the bars and restaurants. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels supplied, and fresh bed linen every other day. Decent sized room with air con, wardrobe (not usual in many Indian hotels),TV with international stations, fridge, and balcony overlooking the pool. Breakfast was adequate, with Indian option available with advance request. Pleasant and courteous staff who also tried to assist us in the next leg of our holiday when we couldn't clarify whether a specific booking had been completed properly. Have already recommended this little gem of a hotel to other people we have met while travelling onwards.

        A clean and friendly hotel with pool, tv, fridge, hot water and lovely staff”

        Although set back from the sea along walled footpaths, it provided privacy and cleanliness to suit all. The pool has a child friendly section and the breakfast area adjacent, is sourounded by flowers and trees. The reception was more than helpful, without ever trying to pressure trips etc as some places do. Having stayed at many local hotels in Kovalum, it would always be our first choice to return to.

        Helpful staff, nice poolside, helpful for airport transfer in the middle of the night

        My stay was comfortable after several months of travel and issue with an incorrect booking ( that was my fault ) was resolved with the helpful staff. My impression was that there was a genuine desire for guests to be happy and comfortable during their stay at Hotel Thushara. Thank you!

        location, pool.

        Good hotel, but a litte bit pricy. There are better alternatives on the beach for the same price, or cheaper. The Wifi did not work in my room, which I think is unacceptable.

        Good pool with shade, basic breakfast, friendly staff. Fun little way to walk from the beach. We would recommend it! Sad to leave, will come back.

        Lovely place! Friendly Staffs! Few steps away from the Sea! Only point to take notice for the traveller is, call the hotel before you reach the hotel. Because it's a bit tricky to reach the hotel from the place your taxi/auto will drop you.

        They allow 2 young kids but offers just a double bed that is not big enough for a family. Otherwise it is a great place and their pool is nice.

        Good hotel, but there is no direct road connecting to Hotel, one has to walk narrow lane to reach hotel. There are many properties on beach front which can be explored.

        Everything we needed”

        Hotel Thushara exceeded our expectations. The room was nice and clean (and was thoroughly cleaned every day). It was right at the heart of Lighthouse Beach, with all the restaurants around the corner and the beach on the doorstep pretty much. We spent lots of time in the lovely pool. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful. Good wifi and a/c. Quiet and peaceful. We'd definitely recommend.
