"My family of five enjoyed six days at the Garden Manor and Ooty city. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. They made every effort to make our stay enjoyable. TIP: If you are on a tight schedule you may like to build in extra time for food and beverage orders. Once we realized that we must order several hours in advance and tell the cook whether its urgent it's on time or not, we found it easy to work. We liked the fact that the cook would go find the best fresh food to make our order, often showing us the produce before cooking. Impressive fresh fruits and vegetable finds. The location is wonderful, conveniently near the botanical gardens. We are an adventure seeking bunch and enjoyed roaming the gardens but more importantly the wilderness behind the gardens. There is a gate on the top of the steep hill that leads to service roads where quiet hiking is abundant. We kept climbing and eventually found Snowden peak. We also liked that Modern Stores (supermarket) is so nearby as well. Sometimes we ate food from Modern and other times from the restaurant. The staff was happy to help with food storage, crockery and clean-up."
