Hotels near Kaufhaus des Westens (KaDeWe)

Our second stay at this hotel, excellent location barely 5 minutes walk from KaDeWe and one stop on the U-Bahn from the Zoologischer Garten railway station (35-40 minutes train ride from Schonefeld Airport) If you book a comfort room on Agoda or any other third party website, you don't get all facilities listed on Sorat's website. You don't get free drinks (access to a fridge containing soft drinks, water and beer) unless you book direct. You do get all other facilities in room. There are construction works going on at the moment (June 2018) over the road from the hotel, with loud construction noise from 8am on weekdays. Can be disturbing if you have a room at the front of the hotel. There is no air conditioning, but the windows do open fully.

Perfect location, one side is the U3 underground which takes you to all major attractions and the other side is a truly outstanding bar/restaurant called "Neffes". You can walk to Potsdamer Platz or Kaiser Wilhem Church / Zoo / KaDeWe in the other direction. Euro 25 from airport in a cab, very friendly staff, good breakfast. Very simple rooms in line with the cost but ideal if you are here to see Berlin. Supermarket, takeaways and alcohol shop across the road. .

I would reccomend Aldea due to great location (2mins from U-Bahn) and 15 min walk from Tiergarten, KaDeWe, Siegesäule, 30 mins to Reichstag and Brandenburger Tor. Rooms were cleaned everyday and were pretty spacious, with comfy beds. Bathroom was small, but still ok. Wi-Fi was ok! Really good value for money. Many cafes and shops to grab a bite/drink in the neighbrohood.

Have been staying here for 1 night only on a private trip to Berlin. The hotel is really central located, walking distance to KaDeWe shopping centre; to the Zoo and Central Station as well as Kurfuerstendamm and all the other known places when this part of the town was the centre of life in Berlin. Since I was driving i used the car park at the hotel, otherwise it would be almost impossible to find a car park in this crowded city; its about Euro 19 per ay car park charges (which usually here in Asia is free if you stay in the hotel). The city also chafes a kind of 'towel' fee (Euro 5) if you are not travelling on business. Anyhow, the room was big enough with a comfortable big bed, the sleeping quality was perfect, even the central location with all the traffic was shut out by the well designed noise absorbing windows. Check-in as well as check-out has been fast and easy, the staff at the reception was helpful, attentive, friendly and well trained in speaking English. The amenities in room and bath room were sufficient, actually there was nothing missing, except slippers, but a call to house keeping settled this minor problem also. The breakfast was superb, huge international spread and warm and friendly staff here as well. Overall it has been a satisfactory stay in Berlin.

Stayed for 6 nights and despite a late arrival was still comfortable and felt welcome. Great groceries (one Organic) within a block. Many Restaurants and MANY Bars very close. Also Very convenient to Tiergarten, KaDeWe, Shopping, Tourist Bus and Canal Boat Tours and Museums. Apartment an a Quiet side street with the worlds best Ice Cream shop 3 doors down! Would definitely Highly recommend and will stay again!

Excellent B&B in heart of Gay area of Berlin and close to all that has to offer and also a short walk to some of the best shopping in Berlin. The U Bahn is only 5 minutes walk as well. The room, older style is spacious, the shower excellent as is the wi fi. The 10 Euro breakfast is very good ( including freshly made eggs ) Finally, the staff are very welcoming and attentive. I'll stay here again.

We enjoyed four nights during Berlin Marathon week. The hotel was well located for access to the bus and rail system which gave access to everywhere we wanted to go. Had to walk a fair distance to find dining options, but with a bus at the corner you can get wherever you want easily and quickly. Staff were helpful and spoke good English, room was clean and comfortable, and best of all quiet.

We know before hand the good location of close proximity to U banh, Bus 100 & 200, KADEWE, Europa centre, Bikini Berlin etc. But we got two surprises. First is we can simply return our rental car to Europecar and pull our luggages to the hotel in less than 30m. Second is we were given two adjoining rooms with four single beds for our stay. Most of the hotel staff are not very friendly except one young man who served us during our checking in. There is no kettle in room but we can request for hot water for tea over the counter. The wifi is very weak so not good for sending large media files.

Good side - nice hotel, good location Down side - when booking the hotel I filled the form in requesting the room after 11am, we arrived at 12, only to be told the room wont be ready until 3ish, fortunately they take your email address and send you an email when your room is ready, which was after 2pm Once we checked in we went to the room to find it was a twin room ( we booked a double deluxe) we contacted the reception where they explained that a room with two beds is a double, meaning two people can sleep in it...……..my thoughts with working in the hospitality industry at management level is this is a twin room . The lady in reception did her best to accommodate us by giving us a disabled room which had a king size double bed, under the circumstances and with the day passing quickly we accepted this and just got on with our break. For future bookings it seems best way to ensure we get what we really want is to contact the hotel direct instead of using a booking agency

Every thing was ok , until I want to have a free coffee from downstairs a guy i didn’t know ask u stay here with angry face, I said yes and I give my room number , then he asked someone to check and all of this happened in 11:50am , so I told him my friend it’s ok to take the coffee or not then he said am not your friend and will of this words believe it or not come from the owner of the hotel !!!!! Really shame to have someone like you in Berlin city

A hotel located in a quiet area, with easy acces at U9 – Bahn Guntzelstrasse (3 minutes walking) and small shopping posibilies (ALDI and E-STADIE supermarkets). You can also dinner in nearby restaurant (I recommend San Marino – italian restaurant). Clean hotel, with hearty breakfast (salami, cheese, jam, butter, yogurt, milk, coffe, tea etc.) and with facilities (refrigerator, cold water in the bathroom, hair dryer). The negative things: no TV cable (from receptionist I understood that was a malfunction on the network, in the whole neighborhood) and poor internet. In conclusion, I recommend this hotel for low and medium budget persons. Un hotel plasat într-o zonă liniștită, cu acces ușor la U9 – Bahn Guntzelstrasse (3 min. de mers pe jos) și posibilități pentru mici cumpărături (supermarketurile ALDI și E-STADIE). De asemenea, poți cina într-unul dintre restaurantele de lângă (recomand San Marino – restaurant cu specific Italian). Hotel curat, cu un mic dejun consistent (salam, brânzeturi, gem, unt, iaurt, lapte, cafea, ceai etc.) și cu facilitați (frigider, apă caldă, uscător de păr). Dintre lucrurile negative aș remarca lipsa cablului TV (din spusele recepționerei, o defecțiune în tot cartierul a afectat transmisia) și internet-ul nu chiar corepunzător. În concluzie, recomand acest hotel celor cu buget mediu sau redus.
