Nanshan Shekou hotels & places to stay

The hotel is lovely and I will definitely stay here again. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed and crisp sheets. Had HBO and Star movies. Pool looked good but I didn't use it. The only negative was that there was a slight smell of smoke in the room. I didn't say anything because I was only there one night. There are signs everywhere reminding people not to smoke and charges if they do but I think it must a huge challenge to the hotel to keep on top of it. 90% of the people I saw for the one day I was there were smoking. The breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of choices. There is a free shuttle to the Shekou Ferry Terminal.

The Minghua cruise ship has a city built around it. Shipboard photo galleries depict this imaginative land reclamation plaza. Despite Shekou's distance from city center, several international restaurants and some shopping are visible from porthole windows. The ship has breakfast buffet, upper deck, and street level dining. NW, a couple blocks, Nanshan Park peak trail beckons about a 4 mile RT walk to broad views. Just South of Cruise Inn, a 4 mile boardwalk follows Shenzhen Bay shoreline from Shekou fishing to Shenzhenwan Park and the Shenzhen Bay bridge.

I always love treating myself to a stay here. It really is a home from home for me, not only because you actually get an apartment. It is the best in the area, and one of my favourites worldwide. Good for solo to large families. You can see there are families living there long term. It is just far enough from the nightlife area of Shekou to be utterly peacefully, but perfectly located for the restaurant, bars, subway, and not far from the ferry to Hong Kong and the airport. Also for a hotel in China, it has a great breakfast buffet with decent coffee. This is all too rare.

This hotel is located right at the recently-renovated (indeed, the still-being-renovated) Sea World area in Shekou, Nanshan. It's steps from the main plaza, with lots of little bars and restaurants, mostly catering to the expat crowd. Though the hotel name says "apartments," this is really a regular hotel, not a serviced apartment (at least not the room I took). The room was fine, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Like what many mentioned, this hotel location is not exactly very ideal. It will be better if you alight at Taoyuan MTR and get a cab to the hotel like me and my companion. The main reason why I choose this hotel is because my companion had to leave Shenzhen very early the next morning and this hotel by far is the best we have come across. Although it is a distance to the airport but you can always approach the reception counter and get them to help you get a cab. Also this hotel is near Nanshan Book City and Coastal City Shopping complex and both have a cinema. The wifi is not very strong which will be an issue for most traveler. However, being an affiliate of IHG you can rest assured that you will be taken great care of. It is my first time staying with IHG hotels and I must comment that they really take good care of their guest. I was issued a drink voucher which I redeem on the next day. The lobby bar staff is one of the most polite and courteous staff I have encounter. The room was to my satisfaction and I throughly enjoy my stay here.

Very nice apartment. Staff do not speak English but they were eager to assist and help. Since location is Nanshan, it is quite far when we need to go to other places than Windows of the World. There are lots of eatery in B1, underground of this hotel. The dim sum is delicious. We didn't take breakfast in the hotel and we recommend other customer not to buy RMB58 breakfast from hotel as lots of eatery in B1.

We stayed in Villa side, having our own private pool, however the distance between villas is too close, sound proofing is very poor Room is spacious, air-con is very strong and nice, good enough number of bathroom, but floor is not well-wiped, u feel the dust or dirts walking barefoot. Number of power socket is way not enough, cannot even charge my phone in room if u want to have the TV on at the same time. Overall is a good, butlers and receptionists are nice, buggies came fast

stayed in kapok with friends for four nights. the hotel is brand new and a quiet place to fall asleep. the small library in the hotel foyer is super and a very good place to fill evening time. the restaurant on the top floor would be a very good choice if you fancy chinese northeast dishes. the staff in the hotel need more service training kinda unprofessional at least far away from five star standards.

This is a great place to stay for anyone going to Shekou, within 5 minutes walking distance of the Shekou Port metro station Exit C, where there is a free ferry shuttle bus stop.. It is peaceful and secluded, just behind the QSI International School and the Pet Shop off Taizi Road. I particularly enjoyed the terace garden, complete with a cute pair of bulbuls who chirruped to me every morning. No deposit was demanded on arrival, a stark contrast with the Shekou Haitao Hotel round the corner. The hotel restaurant also offers reasonable meals three times a day.

Had an opportunity to stay in GTA for 15 days, and found that the chaps here are quite friendly. The room service ladies come like umpteen times a day to check if the room is made. One thing is, the leaflets states there is laundry, but there isn't. Wifi is not usable if in room higher then 1st level (a LOL service). Fibre optic internet works fine with the usual China surfing restrictions. Eateries: This place is near most local food franchises (Szechuan Food, Howker Food, Chee Cheong Fun, HK Food, Western and even Malaysia Food, Fast Food like KFC and McDonalds), all within 15 mins of walking. Travel: Fantastic, 2 mins to Metro (Shuiwan Station, Shekou Line). 10 mins from Shekou port, 90 mins to Macau, 60 mins to Hong Kong Island. 40 mins to Dongmen Market. You see.... one spot in the middle of many attractions! Play: There are 2 theme parks - Window of the World and Happy Valley, just 30 mins away by Metro. Traffic: Chaotic, so be careful of bikes and bicycles. Bikes here run on electric, so there's no engine sound.

this has become my hotel of choice now when i travel to the shekou area, which is about once per month. the hotel is off the main road a few blocks. short taxi ride to most shopping and restaurants in the area. the rooms and the staff are great. i had a problem with remodeling workers making a lot noise past the posted time. i talked with the desk staff and they moved me and upgraded me from superior king to a deluxe king room.

This hotel is typical Chinese hotel for low budgets traveler. You get a basic room with little amenities, for example there is no hand soap provided, there are two liquid shampoo and soap in shower enclosure but none in the sink. Clean hard bed , clean shower and bathroom . Basically a place to sleep . It is at least a kilometer to Metro station with many restaurants and shops around .

Here are some pros and cons of my stay in the Ranz Hotel in Shekou Pro: - Good location near city center like Houhai - Polite desk personal - Room size sufficient for two persons - I had a recently refurbished room - Cafe in hotel lobby Cons: - Sheets not always clean after cleaning -> After short talk with the service counter immediately changed without discussion - Lack of storage options (Clothes must be kept in suitcase)

The "special" discount room was nice and comfortable(other than the hard bed common in Asia), but it's 3rd floor location put it above the KTV located on the 2nd floor, which meant loud booming music noise at all hours of day and night (up to 2 am). So if you like the "party" atmosphere, you'll be happy with the price and location, otherwise better to stay elsewhere. Staff was very helpful in taking care of any issues with the room or service, but have very limited English. Breakfast was good by local standards (mostly Chinese food)

I selected the Maple Leaf Hotel because it was located in West Central Shenzhen. The hotel was a reasonable cab ride from the Shekou port area and the Garden City Mall to the south and a reasonable distance from the Window to the World and Happy Valley attractions to the north. This hotel has an entrance right on a main road where it is easy to find taxies. I enjoyed the hotel “western style” restaurant once. The hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel guest rooms were very nice. My room was located on the sixth floor. One complaint I will mention is that my room must have been close to some sort of karaoke bar. In the evenings I would hear music from another floor till 2:00am. I heard in the morning construction across the street or housekeeping rapping at my door. I never took time to figure out the electronic “do not disturb” door feature.
