Super friendly staff maintaining clean hotel”
must say, pretty flawless experience. only issue was a room mix up on arrival. needed twin share room for a mate and i but received 1 double bed. i suspect this is technical issue through agodas system because this exact same thing has happened before in other countries to the same mate and i and also at the marina bay sands just 3 nights after we stayed at the perak. either way, they were very apologetic and and rectified the problem in no time at all. we felt like we were definitely at the top of their priorities, so we thank them very much for that. cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding, beds were a little more comfortable than the standard asian firmness. i slept on a fold out that we received for the bed mix up and it was more comfortable than mine at home lol. location for me was perfect, little india has many great eats, open late, loads of character 24/7 with markets and people out all day and night. short taxi ride to anywhere in singapore seeing as it's a small town and caters cheap taxis. without gassing on for too much longer, i just want to say once again thank you to perak staff and highly recommend a stay there.

Thanks to the Perak”
We stuffed up our dates, Perak and Agoda sorted it out for us, which was greatly appreciated. We love the ambience of The Perak, feels like you really are somewhere else. Like most in Singapore the rooms are small, wifi doesn't always work in the rooms but Singapore is for exploring and eating out so it's no big deal, good wifi in lobby and dining room. Breakfast is good, fruit, cereal, eggs, as much toast and coffee as you want. The new Rocher station is less than 3 mins walk so easy to get to Chinatown, Marina Bay or anywhere else and being in the heart of Little India, all kinds of Indian cuisine and great shops. Look forward to our next stay there.

Lovely boutique hotel”
We spent 6 nights at Perak Hotel in the superior room (they kindly upgraded us) and enjoyed the location on the edge of Little India. It wasn't as noisy as I had read in other reviews. The staff were friendly, welcoming and happy to assist with making restaurant bookings and other room requests. Breakfast was simple and varied every day, good basis for the day. WI-FI access was only available in the lobby and dining area. Would stay there again, if we return to Singapore.

A hotel with character”
this is our second stay at the perak hotel. we like the location (8 min walk to bugis mrt and raffles hospital). that location will soon be even better as they are putting in another mrt line which will have a station at the end of the road! the rooms are very clean. better to stay in a superior room as the standard rooms are on the ground floor and have very small, high up windows so the room feels a bit poky. the superior rooms have large shuttered windows from which you can open to see the life outside. since perak hotel is in the middle of little india the area teams with life and character and there is great and reasonably priced indian/lebanese/turkish/moroccan food within steps of the hotel. the breakfast buffet is quite adequate if not inspired - juice, cereal and banana, fried rice and omelet, toast and jams, tea coffee. there is wifi in the rooms and satellite tv and mini bar. i feel however that at certain times of the year the rooms are a little over-priced. the towels are very thin, the blankets, although clean, are quite old. the pillows are a little hard. however we asked for another pillow and an extra blanket and the staff were always helpful and obliging - lent us an umbrella when it was raining, gave us an extra hour to check out etc etc. we will stay there again as the pros outweigh the cons and it is hard to find a small hotel with some of the flavour of old singapore and this fits the bill.

Great location, hotel with personality”
we stayed here for four nights and really enjoyed our time at the perak. the rooms are spotless, the aircon is great and the location can't be beat, if you want to stay somewhere away from the soulless high rise hotels and excessive shopping experience (however everything is within easy mrt access and the little india station is only a 6 minute walk from the hotel). there are open spaces throughout the hotel where you can sit and have a nightcap and watch the street below, and the evening breeze alleviates the heat and humidity. breakfast was fine, with protein, toast, fruit and other things to choose from. if you have heavy bags or are mobility impaired, the lack of elevator may be a problem, but the hotel is only three stories and the staircase is quite wide. any one of the hotel staff would be there to assist, if you needed help. the front desk guys are really friendly and go out of their way to handle any requests. so glad we found the perak!

Excellent location and great atmosphere”
Right in the middle of Little India, walking distance to the MRT and good eateries (tip: the naan set at Banana Leaf Apolo!). Service is great and the rooms (we had a superior) were cozy with a wooden floor and colonial style shutters. You actual have space, although it's still not a big room. Internet was doing fine with LAN, didn't try the wireless in the room (supposedly there's only wifi in the lobby). Breakfast is OK with loads of different spreads and fruit salad. You can stay cheaper in the mOOn hotel, which is 2 blocks from the Perak hotel, but since there are (almost) no rooms at the mOOn that have windows, we paid the extra to stay at the Perak in a 'room with a view'.

Beautifully Restored Hotel w/Great Service”
My parents came to visit me here in Singapore so I thought it'd be fun to stay near Little India and explore the area. The Perak Hotel was the perfect spot for us. It's less than five minute's walk to the Rochor MRT Station (Downtown Line), their included breakfast was simple, but delicious, the location was easy to get to interesting sites and the staff were nothing but courteous, kind and helpful. The only caveat is that it is an old building with wooden floors and can be a little noisy, but nothing ear plugs can't fix! Can't recommend this hotel enough.

Fantastic Honest Staff”
We stayed at the hotel with our young baby who decided it would be fun to hide my wife's Raybans under the bed. We didn't realise until we returned to Australia. An email to Perak was replied to within 5 minutes, the sunglasses were located less than 30 minutes later and they were posted to Australia the next day. They arrived less than a week later and packaged according to our wishes. This was fantastic service and it is refreshing to find such integrity. All of the staff were very willing to help with the special needs with our baby including use of the microwave whenever we needed it. The staff also provided us with tourist advice which helped us save money and were ever ready to help. The hotel is on the edge of Little India which is a better cultural experience than staying in a large hotel chain. Sim Lim tower is across the road offering cheap electronics. There are several cheap and good restaurants close by. Little India market is about a 2 minute walk offering clothes and crafts. For a 3 star hotel, I would definitely recommend it based on our experience.

great location, helpful staff”
Perak Hotel is located in Little India - perfect for wandering the streets, about ten mins walk from Bugis or Little India MRT Stations. Immactulately clean, good sized rooms. Great breakfast. Timber floors mean LOTS of ambient noise from other rooms, especially above us. This, unfortunately, meant a night with very little sleep for us, due to the stomping feet of the guest in the room above. However, all in all, a centrally located, lovely hotel, reasonably priced for expensive Singapore. Wifi available in the lobby, although the connection is pretty dodgy!!

Charming, comfortable and friendly”
We had a great time at the Perak Hotel - with the very friendly helpful staff who greet you graciously. The rooms are lovely, colonial style with beautiful wood floors. The location is fabulous - on a quiet street close to the heart of Little India and walking distance to much of central Singapore. It's also 5 minutes walk from the MRT. We'll definitely be back!

Great Cultural Experience in Singapore”
The location was perfect since we wanted to be more adventurous. It was in the heart of Little India and hotel was accessible to shops and a great restaurant called Banana Leaf. We were a little tired of the usual places in Singapore which were very typical and predictable. The Perak hotel was a refreshing experience and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. You will even hear a Hindu man singing a prayer outside. Since we have never been to India, this was the next best thing. The room was quite small and the breakfast was very simple. However overall it was a worthwhile experience.

Decent value in an otherwise v expensive city”
I was there for a quick trip and wanted to be somewhere inexpensive and close to public transportation and easy to get - the Perak Hotel certainly fulfilled both of these traits. The room was quite basic and smaller than I expected, but totally fine. I love the Little India area for all the amazing inexpensive food, too. Overall, it's a great option for a visit to Singapore when you just want something simple, easy, and inexpensive

Good Choice”
The Perak Hotel is a good option in Singapore - reasonable rates, good size room, good location near 2 subway stops. Breakfast is substantial. Located in Little India, with tons of interesting shops and restaurants nearby. Caution- there's no elevator!

Excellent hotel and location”
We found Little India the most enjoyable of all the places we visited in Singapore, and where the Perak Hotel is situated was the ultimately the nicest part of it for staying. The street is quiet so an upstairs room with window would be the best selection.

we loved our stay at perak hotel. the rooms are small and it can be noisy at night (we were there during the lunar new year celebrations though)... but it was great! the staff is very nice, breakfast was fine, and we most enjoyed the location - being right in little india. i would definitely stay here again! another plus was that the internet worked in our rooms!

great staycation hotel!”
Stayed at Perak hotel for our honeymoon staycation.. really clean hotel with artistic room design.. though small but it's comfy. Also, staff were very helpful,we asked them to help keep our luggage for a few days without any charge. Do note that the hotel is 3 storeys and has no lift so might be unsuitable for elderly.

Cute clean old style hotel in good location. ”
We stayed at perak hotel for our final day in Singapore just as a base camp to store our luggage and have a nap ahead of a midnight flight. We chose perak basically because it was a cheap Singapore option for our purposes with good reviews - and it was a perfect choice. Old style charm in a quiet street with plenty of food nearby. Friendly helpful staff, clean. Cute dining room which we didn't get to use. It's Singapore, so value for money is not the same as other cities in the world, but this is good value for money 'cheap' option in Singapore. The downside is small rooms, no windows, no lift - stairs only. I see some reviewers have not liked the wooden floors, but I think they're part of the old style charm and I hope the are not lost in a 'renovation'. Cute hotel.

Friendly hotel”
The staff are friendly and helpful. They would try to assist you in your needs as much as they can. Breakfast is simple but filling. No problem in getting a cab or grab or even taking MRT rides. Room for three pax was really nice. We get clean towels everyday, no need to ask housekeeping to clean our room. Will definitely consider staying at Perak Hotel when we visit Singapore again.

Good value, Great Staff, Great location”
Just a great place. The Staff at this hotel are some of the best you will you come across, their happy and helpful nature just made our trip. The hotel has been recently renovated and is in keeping with the period of the architecture. The layout provides a welcome retreat from the outside hustle of Little India and yet easy access to the delights of this great area of Singapore city. The rooms are small yet well appointed and the breakfast had enough choice to meet most requirements. This hotel would suit family along with solo travellers, its an easy walk to the MRT and close to major shopping options. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and will return when again in Singapore .
