Find Hotels in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia

I stayed at this hotel for couple of nights on my way to Siem Reap, Kampong Cham is not on the direct route to Siem Reap but is worth the detour. The hotel itself from the outside is modern and the location was perfect for me. It is about a 2 minute walk from the bus station and about a 7 minute walk to the river front were most of the action is, there really wasn't a lot of action though, it may pick up in peak season. The room are typical for a Cambodian hotel in this price range, all white tiles. My room 103 was quite big but the bed is kind of pushed into the corner, meaning you could only get in one side without sliding it over. The bathroom may be an issue for some as the shower is not screened and the toilet is really close, you have to close the door to stop the water from excaping while showering and the toilet will get wet. If given an option choose a room as far fron the lift as possible as its arrival is announced with a loud ding and the sound from the other guests does travel on the tiled finishes. The girl on reception was extremely friendly and helpful, happy to organise bus tickets etc. Breakfast was not included in my package but I did give it a go, my guess is, the restaurant is actually run separately as you pay as you go. I ordered bacon and eggs and they we cooked perfectly, I would prefer toast with my b&e, when served with a baguette I am never sure what to do with it, the young girl serving was so friendly and we had a laugh try to teach each other our languages. I conclusion, altough not perfect this hotel was actually a lot better than I was expecting for the price and I would definitely stay again if I found myself in Kampong Cham.

New hotel with very good rooms,clean and all facilites but we found with the lack of English spoken by staff it was difficult to find out what to do and how. Restaurant was outside or in adjacent building. There appeared to be no breakfast available and no dinner menu in English, but this was no problem in the restaurants down on the river front, a 1500m. walk. As it was Cambodian New Year public holidays, this may have had some bearing on the above. In the end we had a wonderful time on the back of a motorbike with a guide who approached us as we arrived by bus and thoroughly enjoyed our day in Kampong Cham, without too many tourists.

We ended up at this guest house (and Kompom Cham) after two travellers we met told us about Thomas (the owner). We decided to change our plans and booked 2 nights there. And boy were we not disappointed!! Thomas and his family are absolutely amazing. We had a marvellous time. We were brought to the night market, a concert and a wedding ! What an incredible experience! If you want to experience what Cambodia has best to offer, you have to stay here ! Motorbikes available to rent for 5$ Brekfast is 2$ (coffee, bread, eggs, jam, butter). We only had one dinner there and it was very simple (noodles) but very good ! + iced banana for desert. And we ended up spending a third night :) Again thank you Thomas for those wonderful 3 days, we'll be back!! And tell Dédé that he owes us a drink :)

Well what do people expect for $15 a night, your not going to get the Ritz, I had looked on trip advisor 1st, but by reading their moans, you wouldnt stay in kampong cham at all. The place is relativley clean, had to mess about getting the shower head to stay still, was still never above my head, but im used to bending! The a/c in my room was top notch! And the view ftom my balcony excellent... with the exception of the JCB working away at the flood defenses, but I'm not going to complain about that. Language was a barrier here, but resolved it in the end... stayed an extra 3 nights... loved the chilled atmosphere of kampong cham. Id recommend this place to people, as long as your not to fussy.

this hotel is located close to the centre of town, a few minutes walk from the river. this is a large hotel that looks much more impressive from outside than it really is. although our room was ok and came with a small fridge and by large tv, there were many problems. the free wifi advertised on agoda doesn't exist and even the three computers located in the lobby for the use of guests were not working. this is pretty poor when a $5.00 guesthouse room in cambodia normally gets you free wifi access. service in the hotel was poor to indifferent. the 'highlight' being the restaurant where the breakfast that was included in our rate was served. when we sat down the waitress 'cleaned' the table by collecting all the used paper napkins and throwing them on the floor! all in all, there are far better places to stay in kampong cham.
