Went to shillong after a decade. Centre Point is one of the oldest landmarks of Shillong. Pros: The best aspect of hotel is its location which is bang in the middle of the city. Both restaurants were good and served tasty food. Staff was courteous and helpful. Cons: Bathrooms could be maintained better. Splashing can be avoided by increasing the height of the barrier between shower and toilet areas. Toiletries also can be improved.

The place is a bit far from the centre, police bazar. However, this area also is a shopping centre and big market is nearby. There are many restaurants, international foods. It is walkable distance from the hotel to the market. The room was really nice. I went with my friend so we got a separate bed, unexpected that we will get the big room like this because there is two connecting room in one room. It is perfect for the family traveller. The toilet is clean and hot shower is available. The gate will close at 10 PM or 11 PM( I could not remember exactly, please come back before time. Breakfast is included. Because it is out of the centre, therefore, I quite like this place. I don't like noisy area.

It is a good resort to take total rest far from the madding crowd amidst forest greenery on the top of a valley with a partial view of the Lake Umium (Barapani). The room is cozy with an attached bath equipped with all modern furniture and fittings of latest design. Our 2-day's stay was very comfortable full of luxury. The quality and varieties of food supplied from the kitchen is superb. Regarding Cons, the location is so remote that none can move to any place outside (not even to the Lake for boating) without a cab. Secondly, the Restaurant of the resort is under construction and no supply of even filtered water is available in the rooms for drinking --- you will have to purchase double-priced mineral water for your needs. Thirdly, Intercom facility is yet to be introduced --- and so you have to call the Caretaker over your phone for your all needs and queries. However, the service of the caretaker named "Bishnu" was found excellent and our stay was very comfortable.

We spent the Christmas eve + a couple of days at Habitat this year. As the other reviewers have pointed out, this is a very clean property tucked away in a one way lane in one corner of the city. However, Police Bazar, the main shopping area is hardly 3 kms from this place. One of the biggest attractions of Shillong, the Don Bosco Cathedral is just a stone's throw away and you have a few good eateries (Cafe Shillong etc) within walking distance. Coming to the property, we just loved it. The rooms were tastefully decorated and extremely clean. So were the washrooms. The breakfast, though of limited options, was tasty. The fact I liked more is that there weren't a plethora of choices which finally gets untouched or hardly consumed - that situation, in a typical hotel industry, lead to recycling of those items at a later point in time. So I was assured of the freshness of our breakfast and other meals. We had dinner at the hotel - the menu is fixed for the day but you have the option to either go for a full meal or opt for just portions of it - that was suggested to us and was really helpful to balance out quantity needed and overall costing. And of course, the dishes were really tasty. The rooms are slightly smaller but definitely manageable and the library, lobbies and other sit outs are free for all to use when needed. The beds, quite comfortable for 2 adults and one kid - we had nice sleep on all the nights :o) Lastly - the service staff were extremely helpful and courteous. It was them whose involvement made our stay so memorable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who likes a decent stay in Shillong. Note: If you're driving down on your own, keep in mind that the parking lot is a cramped one. We didn't face that issue.

From the beginning we weren’t pleased. Reception staff quiet unwelcoming and the entrance is through a dirty car park. We requested a non smoking room but got a room that absolutely smelt of smoke and they were unhelpful when we asked to change. The bed was one of the hardest beds we have had in India and just looked good in the photo but in reality was terrible. We foolishly included breakfast and when we were taken the next morning to a neighbouring sweet store to order a breakfast from a menu which ended up not being applicable that day. Instead we were given half an omelette and some stale bread. All in all we were so surprised it was this expensive when it’s location was still inconveniently distanced from any public transport to police bazar. When we requested boiled water politely. It never arrived which wasn’t a surprise to us.

Although the location and service was very good.We are little dissatisfied with the size ,facility and location of the room in the hotel . Room which was allotted to us was small and at the same time it was noisy because the sound from the other rooms are loud during the night time.Also there were no windows in the room.We requested for different room but the hotel authority simply refuse most probably due low price quoted by Agoda.Overall

Good hospitality, location, food. All good, just if you're a business traveller, avoid this one. We stayed here for 3 days, all was going smooth, until the checkout day, when we told the hotel staff at 12:45 to book a taxi for us to reach guwahati airport as we had a flight at 16:55, usually it takes 10 mins to get a taxi, someone at the hotel reception decided to take this matter and use it as an opportunity to get a small commission, and called a taxi that arrived around 1400hrs, the commission transaction happened in front of us, nevertheless, we were doomed to miss the flight, on our way to the airport, the guy who was driving tried his best to make it in time, as he started dring crazy, we had to tell him not to drive rash. Anyway, we reached airport after 1710, missing the flight, we had to reach Delhi in order to catch our next flight to pune. We booked new flight that cost us 16000. We wrote to the owner about this and received not a single reply not even an apology.

There location is good, as it's in the middle of town with lots of activity around. The hotel left us wanting. Here are a few challenges we encountered which effected our experience. 1. You cannot adjust the temperature in the room. (They offered a fan for the night, which did help.) 2. They wanted to keep our passports to be returned later!!! I insisted on waiting for them. The staff person was not pleased. You should never have to leave your passport if you are not comfortable doing so. 3. We were originally put in a room that was across the hall from the kitchen. Kitchen smells permeated the room! They did move us upon request. We can't believe anyone could stay in a room with those smells, and wondered why it was a room. 4. There was obvious mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. When we asked them to come clean it, they came and tried with a mop, but couldn't clean it til the next day as someone had taken their ladder. I wouldn't stay there again.
