Valenciana hotels & places to stay

My colleague and I stayed in the NH Alicante for four nights while attending a workshop at the EUIPO. The Hotel is situated halfway between the EUIPO complex and the center of Alicante and was consequently very well located for our needs. It is also just a short taxi ride from Alicante airport. The rooms (along with the respective bathrooms) are nice and spacious. As we visited in March, the pool was still closed (it is only open from June to September). We did not try the Jacuzzi and/or sauna. The gym was small but served its need for a short stay. The breakfast was nice and extensive and the staff we interacted with was also very pleasant and responsive. We would certainly consider the NH Alicante again on a return visit.

Beautiful hotel in a great location to explore the city. Rooms are generous in size with extremely comfortable beds. Reception staff are very helpful and friendly and I’ve already passed on the name to friends who are going to Valencia later on in the year. Don’t miss the fantastic Italian restaurant just opposite the hotel - amazing little place, food was superb but you’ll need to book

I stayed in NH Centre for 6 days and I can give only Good with respect to 4-star standard. In the breakfast, only PORK and Egg were available as the main items, but no chicken items or vegetables. Almost the same items all days. I have stayed in many 4-star hotels, but this breakfast menu was not as per my expectation. Also, there were only Spanis channels available on the TV except for BBC news. Other things were good.

This hotel is in a great, central location, walkable to everything! It has all the traditional four-star amenities, except for free wifi. The decor is trendy, if a little over-the-top/gaudy with the chandeliers and purple velvet. Other than wifi, I wish they had an accessible parking garage (they have a car elevator in the alley that is only do-able if you have a tiny smart car or a motorcycle). We had to park our rental car underground the next block over at a pricey parking garage.

booked as a surprise for my husband, and it was on the recommendation of our best friends! felt very special, coming out of the lift into reception area, very attentive staff. enjoyed the bar- it was like having your own! bedroom wasfab, lovely bathroom, view, dressing gowns, the lot !!! all the ' appetisers' on offer were great- could't fault the whole experience- it took it to ' another level' !!!

The hotel is place right in centrum. It's a nice staff and the room is cleaned. The hotel is a little worn down but other than that it's a nice hotel. The bathroom is cleaned though it took a while for the hot water to come. Make sure to get a room above the ten floors to get a good view over the water, beach and castle. The breakfast is 10 eu if you order a day before otherwise it 15 eu it's a bit expensive but totally worth the money, it's such a good buffet with many choices. We were there for three days and chose one of the days to eat at a cafe outside the hotel and even though it was ten eu less we regretted it because it was poor choice compared to what the hotel buffet offered.

We chose this hotel due to its location for New Year celebrations and it was perfect. Crowds gathered on 30th for a fancy dress fun run, again on New Year's Eve to count in 2016 although the fireworks were cancelled due to security warning - they put on a laser show and there was still a good crowd to eat the twelve grapes on each strike of midnight. Then, on 5th there was a parade to celebrate Epiphany with lots of floats full of costumed people throwing sweets to the excited crowd. We watched this from our balcony (room 307) which was excellent as the crowd was up to 10 deep in the square. The location was also excellent for walking to all the historic sites and it was easy to catch a bus to other places like the City of Arts and Sciences and the beach. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful - we swapped from our original room (410) as this was rather dark - and the change was made swiftly and with good grace. We ate in the restaurant on New Year's Eve and the food was delicious with generous quantities of cava and wine - our only slight quibble was the lack of festive decorations which made the ambiance a bit dull. Altogether though, a great stay and would definitely recommend.

Location, location! This hotel is a 2 min walk from Xativa metro station, just 25 mins from the airport. It is clean and the staff are friendly. It appears that not all rooms have all facilities you would expect from a four star hotel. i.e. kettles are only in some, balconies..only some get the privilege of these rooms (could be based on price you pay). Also, there were no robes or slippers in any of the rooms we stayed in. I think you only get these in the suite rooms. As an improvement, I would suggest these are provided in all rooms. Other than this, I have nothing to complain about. One of our rooms smelt of damp but they moved us immediately when we complained. There is no pool or gym or spa facilities here, so rethink if you need these facilities.

Loved the hotel, better than more expensive places. Literally the only draw back was the roof top bar was open irregularly and we did not get to use it, the water treatment area was not ready yet and the restaurant looked more like a canteen area. I would go back, everything else you want is there. Use it as a hub to go out from. equal distance from the city centre and beach, right next to the science park, opera house and central gardens running through the city. A lovely half hour walk from the centre. Other things are close by, a good row of restaurants, museum. Right next to a bus stop that takes you directly to the beach or city centre in 5 minutes.

Confortable hotel and very friendly staff but needs more work in the kitchen as food is horrible. Buffett breakfast very poor no yoghurt, honey , only margarine no butter. No fresh fruit but only conserved fruit. 2 choice of cereals and 2 choice of bread. Buffet dinner was also horrible, processed burger putties, even frozen fried rice! Pasta had even processed bolognese sauce with no meat. Very disappointing for a Spanish hotel We expected way more better meals after trying the rich Spanish cuisine.

The hotel has a perfect location, next to the northern train station and at walking distance to old city center and the Ruzafa area with many restaurants and shops. The rooms are nice, not big but big enough and there is no noise from outside. There were 2 big beds, 2 chairs and a good working air-conditioning. The bathroom was spacious with all amenities you need and a good shower. Wifi was accessible without a password and had good speed. Staff was friendly and helpful. We missed the tea/coffee facilities in the room, but we were aware of this by reading earlier reviews, so we took a water heater ourselves to have at least a tea at certain moments. It is a great hotel to explore Valencia in a few days; it was value for money in our opinion and I would book this hotel again if I would visit Valencia again!

i have no idea how this hotel got 5 stars. i used to own a hotel and i know what you require for upgrading to another star and in my opinion this is not a 4 or 5 star hotel. saying that, if you have to stay there because your company has booked you in then don't panic. the rooms are very comfortable and you won't get bitten by anything. but that's about it. firstly the position on the no.1 metro is not too far out of town but at night the last train is at 10:20 so if you go into the city make it early. the hotel is wedged between a novotel and an ibis, both of which have better facilities. it has a small foyer and the rooms start above level 14. in your room and you'll find a large bed; excellent bathroom and an expensive mini-bar. here is where i can see the 5 star bit - the prices! on entering my room (no porter carry your own bags) it stank like a sewer. i complained and one woman came and said it made her feel sick but another woman arrived and sprayed the damned room with agent orange or whatever and said it would be ok. however, when i came back at midnight (taxi fare from the city €9, insist they switch on the meter) the smell was overpowering and i insisted on being for a tame breakfast so i just went locally to a cafe each morning. now here's the thing, i walked in and it smelled nice and fresh later when i returned the fresh smell had evaporated and a smell of sewerage again. the explanation was that all of valencia stinks when it rains!! of course it doesn't, i'm typing this from another perfectly good hotel which doesn't smell at all and also has tea and coffee making facilities!!! so that is another big problem for an englishman - no tea or coffee making facilities. i asked if i could just have a kettle and they said no, so it's for warm t!! the internet hardly ever worked either!

this is the third time we have gone to alicante, and we stayd in eurostars mediterranea plaza hotel for the first time. the hotel is in a great location, and far cheaper than alternatives that are not nearly as good. everyone spoke english, the hotel is very clean, and the big beds were really good, even for people with back problems. we will book this hotel for sure when we go back next year.

Nicely positioned between the Arenal and the Port this hotel is modest but clean. A supplement is charged for rooms facing the sea which are compact and rather dated but are cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. The bathroom contained a small but very efficient shower. The continental breakfast was of good quality for the price. We had a very pleasant stay at reasonable cost in this pleasant resort.

The Catalonia hotels we stayed in in both Barcelona and Valencia were about the best accommodation we had whilst travelling through Spain. The locations were good, the rooms clean and overall the service was good. Adequate English TV channels with large TVs made it easy to relax after long days. Fridge did not have a freezer compartment, however, when asked ice was made available. Only poor point was that other guests must have smoked in the rooms before us as there was a smoky odour coming through the airconditioner. Staff were helpful and spoke good English. Generally good value for money and recommended.

We spent 5 nights there and really enjoy the service and room. We really love room design. It's modern and new. Room is quite big and has two sofa that you can relax with your drink. Toilet also beautiful and clean. They prepared book about tourist information in Valencia in the room too. Location is great. There are many restaurants around there. We found one that's good and not expensive. So we went there 2 days. First and the last day. The restaurant in the hotel is good too. It's nearly same price as other restaurant. Good service and good taste Tapas. You should try it. Metro staion is not far from hotel. Reception is nice, helpful and good at English. Only 2 thing that we not satisfied is price of mini bar. It's expensive if compare to Hotel in Barcelona that we stayed. And the wall is thin you can hear your neighbors talked and not possible to sleep late cause it's noisy when maid start to work. You will wake up every time when they closed the door.

The location is great. We walked to pretty much all the places. We only took a bus between train station and the hotel when carrying luggage. We had the most economic room which is small and no view what so ever. But all the view to the green space has been pretty much blocked from the hotel so we didn't miss the view considering how little we paid for the room and we spent most of time outside. The bed is full size but it's ok for us. You need to get hot water from the bar. There is a big Carrefour about 10 min walk away. Even better we found there is an ALDI just a few doors down so no need to walk to Carrefour.

They have new rooms which are befitting of the star rating of this hotel, then they have rooms which are relics from the 1970's. Make sure you know what you're booking. We ended up paying an extra EUR10 a night to avoid the punishment of the older rooms. I could have argued the point about the deception online, but I was just too tired at the time. Breakfast was really good. Very much a Spanish affair with typical Spanish assorted meats and cheeses and sweets. Gets busy on weekends but the selection should satisfy most travelers. The door to the room didn't close well by itself. Even the cleaner didn't close the door properly and we came back to our room with the door slightly ajar. This was concerning but luckily nothing was stolen. If you definitely get the nicer room, there isn't much to complain about.

We was put in a room with 2 single beds I went down stairs to reception An told them it should of been. a double! They moved us to another room that had double bed, the room was very tired needs decorating bathroom very tired also well over priced I complained about the price An got 10€ off but still paid 180€ a night breakfast was cold I checked into hotel don pancho which was cheaper by 40€ per night and it's a lovely hotel An food gorgeous! An staff wished I had of booked this hotel instead would not go back to hotel cimbel the only good thing is it sits on the beach! but hotel I'm in now you can still see the beach
