Schöneberg hotels & places to stay

Hotel located in almost walking distance to most of the famous Berlin sightseeings and also very well connected with variety of public transport (e.g. bus and underground). The room is very spacious and equipped with relevant amenities as described in a booking details. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Tiny minuses. Bathroom's white walls in need some refreshment and little problem with hot water requires some time to get warm up.

I only give the staff three Stars, because I at my arrivel met a very unengaged lady behind the hotel counter. She gave me in first place no key but only a note with some hotelinformation., witch I tought was a kind og key. But No. I Them I went downsrairs again with all my bags. And without any excuse from the lady I finally I got a keycard. Unfortunately it didnt work, the rumnumber was correct, but now the lady had forgotten to tell me, that the hotel have rums with the same numbers but placed on different areas - a red one and a green one. Unfirtunately, therefore I went to the wrong one and wakend up a stranger, who stayed there.as guest. Now pence more I had to enter at the lobby with all my bags , and at last got the help I needed, NOT from the lady, WHO still didnt care, but from a foreign assistent, who at the same time made an excuse on the hotel and said. that the lady at the counter was tired. Prof. done from a person far down in the hierarki ! She gets five stars !!

I was very happy with everything this hotel had to offer. I would stay there again and recommend to anyone to stay there. It is cheap, conveniently located and although surrounded by night clubs, very quiet. I read other reviews about it being noisy as the walls are thin. I did hear creaking floorboards above, doors opening and closing near my room; occasional mumblings, I think for it's price and location it was definitely tolerable. I stayed Friday and Saturday night in the first week of August, presumably peak holiday season. When you arrive you ring the front door bell marked Hotel. Go up to the first floor and ring the bell although the receptionist will be on his way down if not already there. I stayed on the floor above. It's an old building with a small old lift which I didn't use. The breakfast was a simple buffet with bread, meats and cheese or cereal. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The only issue I had was the wifi which is available free in the room via free Vodaphone link. It was a weak signal so it was very slow, weaving in and out of range.

The receptionist seems a bit cool when I check in. The room is clean. There was no hair dryer in the room, I had to borrow at the reception. It's a bit inconvenient that I booked a single room with shared bathroom in hallway, I prefer to book a room with bathroom next time. Actually, The staffs are nice. Once they found that I were waiting outside the luggage room, they came up very quickly.

The hotel was managed by the owner himself, Mr Hoss and his wife. Hoss is a very kind and pleasant person. He introduced the city and recommended good places to visit. He even kindly explained the rules and regulations of the U-bahn and S-bahn ticketing system. The hotel would be much nicer to stay if only I can freely access to hot water and safe deposit box. Though hot water is available on demand but it is not nice to bother Mr. Hoss every now and then. Nevertheless, in a nutshell, I have a pleasant stay at the Gunia hotel.

Overall I was pleased with this hotel. It is in a good, central location, across from Wittenbergplatz U-bahn, and had adequate facilities for a 3-star hotel, including a bar, free wi-fi and clean, spacious rooms. Maybe the décor of the rooms could be updated but I was happy for the price I paid for 2 nights. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. There was just one thing I did not like. I thought I had read on the hotel's website that tea and coffee making facilities were provided, and assumed this meant in the room. However, on finding no kettle, I asked to borrow one but staff informed me that I would have to pay €5 a night! They said they could provide boiling water for 50 cents which I did for the first night, but decided to pay the €5 on the second night. If you like making hot drinks in your room and decide to stay at this hotel, I advise you to bring your own travel kettle. I wish I had! I noticed they also charge to look after your luggage on departure day!

Excellent B&B in heart of Gay area of Berlin and close to all that has to offer and also a short walk to some of the best shopping in Berlin. The U Bahn is only 5 minutes walk as well. The room, older style is spacious, the shower excellent as is the wi fi. The 10 Euro breakfast is very good ( including freshly made eggs ) Finally, the staff are very welcoming and attentive. I'll stay here again.

It was a nice stay, but location isn't good if you are looking for some more action around. We are foodies so we needed a big variety of different places where we can find the best food. Next time we will stay closer to prenzlauer berg for sure. Anyway, tube is less than 10mins walk. Another thing, Wifi was average in the room. In general, good hotel, good value for money paid.

We were very impressed with the hotel's aesthetics and design. The bed was very comfortable and the air-con worked! The room was very small but we were there to sightsee not to relax in a hotel room. The bathroom was nice and modern/clean but the shower screen did not seal properly, which meant the bathroom floor got really wet each time one of us showered. I don't normally ask for daily towel changes in hotels but we had to because we were always mopping up the water with the towels!! They were sopping wet so they would not have dried anyway; and there was a lack of towel rails to hang them up on. Hopefully the hotel will take heed and fix the issue so that they can save themselves and the environment from washing so many towels. However, that's a minor issue in comparison to some other places we have stayed in! I think the carpet could have had a more thorough vacuuming! We really liked the hotel and thought the location was great, in that we got to see how Berliners lived locally in a nice neighbourhood. It's definitely a gay-friendly district with some interesting shops around (!!) We found some excellent places to eat and enjoyed not being in the centre of the tourist areas. Easy access to the U-bahn station and plenty of shops around to find snacks, coffee, dinner etc.

This was our second visit to this hotel and we had another excellent stay. It has a very good location near to Wittenburghplatz au bahn station and there are many shops in the area including an excellent bakery, supermarket and the famous ka de we. Our rooms were clean and the beds were wonderfully comfortable and cosy. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms which would have been an added bonus. However having stayed in another hotel without these facilities in a different area of Germany this perhaps is the norm. We look forward to a return visit hopefully soon.

Good side - nice hotel, good location Down side - when booking the hotel I filled the form in requesting the room after 11am, we arrived at 12, only to be told the room wont be ready until 3ish, fortunately they take your email address and send you an email when your room is ready, which was after 2pm Once we checked in we went to the room to find it was a twin room ( we booked a double deluxe) we contacted the reception where they explained that a room with two beds is a double, meaning two people can sleep in it...……..my thoughts with working in the hospitality industry at management level is this is a twin room . The lady in reception did her best to accommodate us by giving us a disabled room which had a king size double bed, under the circumstances and with the day passing quickly we accepted this and just got on with our break. For future bookings it seems best way to ensure we get what we really want is to contact the hotel direct instead of using a booking agency

We enjoyed four nights during Berlin Marathon week. The hotel was well located for access to the bus and rail system which gave access to everywhere we wanted to go. Had to walk a fair distance to find dining options, but with a bus at the corner you can get wherever you want easily and quickly. Staff were helpful and spoke good English, room was clean and comfortable, and best of all quiet.

Every thing was ok , until I want to have a free coffee from downstairs a guy i didn’t know ask u stay here with angry face, I said yes and I give my room number , then he asked someone to check and all of this happened in 11:50am , so I told him my friend it’s ok to take the coffee or not then he said am not your friend and will of this words believe it or not come from the owner of the hotel !!!!! Really shame to have someone like you in Berlin city

The studio apartment is in a prime location in Eisenach Str. a gay area in Schoenberg and less than 5 minutes walk to Nollendorfplatz station. The apartment itself is clean and adequate with everything u need, small kitchen and bathroom. I had a lovely time staying there. Only one thing it was let down - the internet connection, the signal was a bit weak often drop and back up again. It was a bit frustrated apart from that the apartment is still good and I will definitely stay there again.

Everything was great from location to cleanliness (I'm very picky with cleanliness aswell) to comfortable bed. Kettle and iron aren't in the room but as soon as we called reception they were brought up. The single thing I would say is negative is that the bath tub is open onto the room which gives you no privacy (my child would run around and felt uncomfortable) - and window facing other building so others can see unless you pull blinds. Regardless of the above negative I would go back to same hotel if I'm in Berlin again .
