Great stay with great staff ”

Our stay at Shivakashi was lovely. We had a large double room with small balcony overlooking the Varanasi rooftops. We had hot showers and the facilities were clean and comfortable. Sanjeev, the manager, was lovely and really interesting to talk to. He made us feel welcome and helped us with anything we needed. We were located 2 minutes from the ghats and the incredible life of Varanasi. Highly recommend to anyone wanting an incredible experience of India and one of its most holy cities.

My heart is stolen! ”

This house beyond my expectation and imagination. My first India trip was excellent when I landed in this house. The hundreds of years aged building with magnificent aura and ambience stole my heart completely. We also love the interaction with the local monkeys! The manager in house is superb! He is super helpful, very accomodating and have wide information/knowledge. One of a kind! The breakfast provided is standard but the dining area is magnificent. You get to see the Ganga from top building. Be prepared to climb the stairs to 5th floor, there is no lift. Electricity and wifi is on and off. The toilet surprisingly is modern. Near the house there is super yum indian restaurant (baba), just ask the manager for direction. Due to the location of the house inside the alleys, i strongly suggest to get the transports arranged by the manager to help with the luggages too. The walk to Ganga/gaht only 10mins. Enjoy the sleep, shop, and eat! Shivakashi, I shall return!

Amazing value and great location”

The price was extremely reasonable and the facilities and rooms were quite nice and large, and had a balcony. The location was amazing and right near the river. Lastly, the manager of the guest house, Sanjeev, was extremely helpful and really great to talk to. I will definitely stay here next time in Varanasi.

Perfect stay”

Location is right beside the main Ghat (5mins) and Sanjeev is the nicest man - while making travel arrangements he even suggested cancelling a night with him in Varanasi so that we could make the most of our last remaining days. Rooms are big and clean and it's even quiet which is much needed in the crazy Varanasi.

Shivakashi might only be rated a ‘one star’ but, in our opinion, it should be five star! Comfy room. Great location. And Sanjeev the manager - what *can’t* we say about Sanjeev?! He is the man that makes it all happen and couldn’t be more knowledgeable or helpful. Highly recommended.

We paid for a superior room and I was expecting a decent mattress....no rock hard...owner is a great guy who knows and is going to change them, The guest house is in a great location 10 mins walk to main Ghat (I walk slow). Hot water available. What makes this place is the owner, he will help you out with anything, so kind. His knowledge of India is also immense. We had a lovely stay and I did moan about the hard bed to him!

Clean, affordable and safe”

This place is good value for money. I booked the super deluxe room and was very pleased to find it clean, overlooking the river, with readily available hot water and a fairly comfortable (Indian mattresses are always a little on the thin side but this one wasn't too hard!) bed. For the price, and in this location, I think Shiva Kashi is a great option. The owner is also very helpful and let me have a late check out.

The place is just perfect. Clean, charming, well kept. The staff is so kind and they really want you to be happy and satisfied. The manager is exactly like he is described here: speak excellent English, intelligent and kind. There is more common space then what you see in the picture. A great living room, a terrace where you can sit and eat, and watch the entire neighborhood. And the Gange! Go there don't even hesitate. :)

Everything is perfect and they can help arrange tuk tuk to Sarnath with good price.Other sites is walkable distance.Best for backpackers,but with big luggage,you should hold it all the way in the alley because there is shit everywhere,haha
