We stayed there for 2 days. Very calm, beach touch natural stay experience. 5 star like services. Very good privacy and view. They have dedicated people for specific work and highly available. Very neat and clean property. Best to get relaxed. Wonderful food quality. Food is costly and variety is less. Good location for photoshoot. Couples friendly.

Amazing ”
It was short vacation, I stayed only for 3 nights in this hotel. It was unforgettable. I needed to recharge myself, to think about future and let go a lot of stuff. This hotel was the right place to go. Calm, with very nice and friendly staff, amazing beach, beautiful swimming pool. I’m sure I will come back to this hotel in couple of months.

Truly amazing experience”
If you want a good relaxing holiday then this is the go to place. We got the front sea view cottage and not kidding this is one of the best views I have ever seen in my life. The facilities are amazing. Due to cvid regulations we couldn't get the ayurveda center access so do make sure to get RT PCR tests done if you want to access those amazing facilities. Staff is really polite and very helpful.

Relaxed time at the beach”
We (three adults and two children aged 10 and 7) had a relaxed week at the Manaltheeram despite some confusion upon our arrival (two rooms had been booked via Agoda but only one room had been reserved by the hotel). Therfore, we were given a second room in the adjacent Somatheeram for two nights. The scenery is amazing, the premises and rooms are very clean and quiet. The beach can be accessed from the hotel. Staff members are all very friendly. However, be prepared to wait for quite some time when ordering food or drinks.

Excellent Location! Good and structured resort where you can touch and feel the nature all around. The grooming of the staff needs lots of improvement. Also they seem to have bias against indian clients as they are happy with foreigners only and it reflects in everything they do and how they do and how they have different standards of treatment for Indians and foreigners. may sound strange but true for Manaltheeram!

For 'patients' only! ”
We found this hotel poor in many respects. It is designed to cater for groups of European visitors seeking an Ayurveda/spa experience. On arrival one is expected to undergo a quasi-medical consultation. For those simply wishing a few nights stay and to enjoy the facilities, this was quite unnerving. We found the staff to be, with one honourable exception (Kurti, who was professional and friendly) nervous and obsessed with asking for our room number ten times a day and getting us to sign for meals and other activities, often more than once. I can only assume the hotel has a management regime which makes its staff lack confidence and initiative. The food is 'healthy' which needn't mean dreary, but mostly was dreary. The beach is dirty and the sea not suitable for swimming in. Overall a great disappointment.

I booked two days stay in soma-manaltheeram,, but was given room in somatheeram without even appraising me in advance.. i came to know that my room wa alloted to someone else.... I was with my wife and it become really tough for Us we were informed at 9.00 PM in the night... Also, they didn't listen ater my numerous requests... and on the second day i was given lower room different from photograph shown on agoda website....it was really saddening experience.. i expect some response from agoda please..

Brilliant Location”
The stay was blissful and the property is brilliant in an amazing location. However, when we made the booking on Agoda, the picture we saw and details that we read online were of a cottage facing the sea. The pictures shown of the Kerala House and the description on the room given on your site was wrong and upon arrival we were told that our room was not sea facing as only the front special cottages face the sea. What we actually booked was the Kerala House which have no AC and do not face the sea. So there is a lot of misinformation regarding the room type and details, which needs to be rectified.

You will not have any uncomfortable experience in the hotel however Ayurvedic massage was kind of beach massage. It was just ok. The view was lovely and walking by the ocean is something unique and can get away from a daily busy life. Interesting to see local fishing market on the beach.

Nice resort”
My mother and myself stayed in this resort one day. This was my second visit. Sea view from the resort is awesome. Resort is maintained well and one can spend quite time sitting under coconut trees and watching sea. Since rooms are designed for guests who come here for Ayurvedic treatment, one cannot compare with hotels. Rooms are small and old fashioned without TV. Breakfast was delicious in restaurant, especially Appam. Staff was polite. One of the managers visited us personally and explained about the ayury packages they offered. Overall, it was nice experience staying in this resort.

Do not consider this place if you are looking to have fun with family/friends. Its more of an ayurvedic hospital, any little sound you make is highly discouraged. Food is ayurvedic. There's al carte; however the choices were v few; quantity too little, heavily priced and not made well. Location is v beautiful though

Unpleasant change .. Completely unexpected. ”
Well I didn't stay at MANALTHEERAM. As I reached.We off loaded from the bus. Our Family consisted of 2 senior citizens.(one MS patient) And a 8 year old boy. It was almost 9 pm.We were tired after a long day of bus travel and sight seeing on way from kumarkom.As I reach the reception.Presented my voucher.The person says I am booked at somaltheeram it's a partner resort.I asked for explanation.But he said it's the same price rooms.And we have upgraded you there. I requested for rooms at the same place but was denied.And assured I will be taken care of at the other resort. I don't understand how I could face such a situation where I had booked weeks in advance,It seems they had lot of foreigners who were accommodated there.So I had to get back on my bus(A tired young boy and 2 senior citizens.) And go the the other venue. At Somaltheeram I was offered 4 rooms in different directions.225 (dad,male nurse) 217(Brother+wife +nephew)256 (Me&wife)117(mom&sister) When I asked I need it to be together. They said there was no such request made.I don't understand ! Isn't it common sense if a family or a group is coming and has booked 4 rooms. It should be close by if not next to each other. It's simply ridiculous/ inhospitable to place us the way they did... Shifted us to another accommodation then gave us rooms far from each other. Our 2 days were below average. The room service was too slow and incomplete all the time. The massages were also very average. Only foreigners who have never taken an Ayurvedic massage will like it ! Maybe I am overreacting because of the problems I had to face. But I did feel discriminated in my own country. I felt foreigners were given presence. Why was my booking shifted ? I was on vacation and it became a project to organise my family's comfort,I might double think to book a resort through agoda. I was offered a refund and help to book another resort by the Gm ! But At that hour I had no choice !! NO AGODA NEXT TIME.

Resort is more leaned towards Europeans; hospitality is way different when compared to Indians versus Europeans. For older people it's difficult to climb up the stairs where the cottages are alloted. Overall zero satisfaction for the money and the time spent.
