    “A nature lover’s paradise ”

    I love coming to the Lodge. You get the best of both worlds. You have the nice pristine beach on one side and the lake on the other side. There are walking and bike trails. The hotel is located inside the Gulf State Park so the next hotels are a mile away from each side. You get to enjoy a nice private beach. Very peaceful. The hotel is also very nice and clean with onsite restaurants . The staff are very attentive to your needs.

    “Caught off guard”

    This is a beautiful place. It is set up very strangely. If you use the bell hop and valet, this place is for you. Otherwise, you go into the lobby in the middle of the complex to check in, then parking ($11 added to your stay) is waaaaay to the right of the lobby and your room is waaaaay to the left of the lobby. There is no indoor pool (but the outdoor one is beautiful. Also, the beach was closed due to dredging the sand back up. We had to view the sunset/sunrise from the deck area. I asked the hotel staff if we could have a complimentary breakfast as consolation for the disappointments and he said no. It was not the best stay as our last stop on our 10 day trip.

    “Beautiful Place”

    When you have a balcony room on a high floor, far away from the noisy pool area and facing the ocean, it's magical. Slept with the door and window open, listening to the waves.
