i recommend spring hotel and would certainly stay there again. my rooms were neat and tidy. they cleaned my clothes and always delivered neatly on time. the hotel itself has a modern ethic and style. my only negative comments were the functions happening on the 4th floor (i was in the 3rd) which meant i could hear loud music but this was till 11pm so was moderately bare able. food selection is good but for my tastes a bit pricey. overall i had a great time and the staff were were welcoming and hospitable. do bear in mind that the hotel is around 30mins from chennai airport and if you are getting a taxi make sure you don't pay more than rs 450. transport wise there a loads of autos around and if needed the hotel can sort out a taxi service.

A Very Hip Hotel With Great Service”
The hotel is one of the coolest hotels I have stayed in during my 3 months in India. It is new (about a year old) and is top of the line. The hotel restaurant has great food, especially the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner... but you can order off the menu as well. If you feel hungry during the day you can always grab a delicious pastry from the cafe in the lobby (or order room service). The staff is plentiful and extremely helpful, offering tour advice, directions for business appointments etc. The rooms are fairly small but well appointed and kept in immaculate condition. There is free wi-fi and great satellite tv. I can't say enough about the decor - modern, funky, and definately unusual for Indian hotels. There's also a bar/club in the hotel that plays the music rather loudly until about 11pm, which may upset some guests (you could hear the beat from my room) but otherwise it's a pretty quiet hotel. One negative is the call I received on my last day before 8am, that woke me up, asking me what time I would be checking out (checkout time is 12 noon and I had already told the desk staff the night before that I would be checking out at noon). I would recommend it highly and if and when I am back in Chennai, I will definately stay there again.

Glitzy and comfortable at the same time”
My stay here was very pleasant and enjoyable. After a long and hectic day in Chennai, it was great to return to a comfortable, luxurious and clean hotel. The deco was glitzy and shiny but all was good. I was rather pleased with the tribute paid to the movie celebrities. However, perhaps more Tamil movie stars can also be featured. There was also a night club at the basement. However, they mostly played Hindi and English songs. I think that more Tamil club music would be really great - and of course to extend the closing hours. (Closing hours at 10.30 - 11pm). Also, offering a spa or massage services would also be a great idea for the hotel. The only thing that was disturbing was the fact that 2 or more fighting fishes were placed in the same bowl (as part of the deco). However, the staff took action almost immediately to separate the fish when some of the guests alerted that some fish were already dead. I hope that the fishes will be placed in an appropriate vessel with appropriate care.

Our first visit to India and the Spring Hotel in Chennai was our first port of call. Arriving early in the day from Malaysia, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was exactly as pictured and we immediately were made to feel at home.

Nice Hotel with ExcdellenService ”
We arrived before check-in time but they gave us the room. The service is really very good. They were even prepared to delay our checkout time so that we could leave for the airport at a convenient tuime. We brought something to the notice of the desk at 11 pm, and they immediately changed our room so that we could have a comfortable night. The restaurant is really good. The dishes we had were very tasty. The location of the hotel in Central Chennai is extremely convenient for shopping enthusiasts. All in all, a place which can be easily recommended.

spring hotel was a different experience .it was a hotel that is very different from anything in india.it has a chic, modern trend to it.and, yes .....a boutique hotel.service was great, rooms are clean but rooms are TINY. i was only there for a couple of hours, hence i was not around long enough to enjoy the breakfast. however, we had d buffet lunch.it was fairly priced and the spread was good ( more so if u re a vegetarian). i would recommend this plc if u re a solo traveller since the room size is rather small .otherwise, a good experience if u re keen on living a different indian experience.

Great modern looking hotel minus the minor flaws”
Positives - The hotel was everything it looked like in the photos and exactly as per expectation. Hotel restaurant had a good variety in the menue(indian+ italian, etc...). Negatives - The linen was not as clean as it could have been. Maintainance was over looked(door knob on the inside of the bathroom was broken). Really no big deal but such a shame that it wasnt maintained too keep up the standard. Final verdict - I would go back to this hotel as the negatives are what i can afford to over look. And given the other hotels i have stayed in the chennai area are not as great, i really liked this hotel. For me it was a value for money deal because i booked it through Agoda! Cheers to Agoda.

Good hotel with friendly staffs”
A good hotel in my opinion for the price i am paying but one thing i would like to feedback is that i find the lightings in the room seems to be a little too dim. I can really do much work in the poorly lited room. Nevertheless, a relatively clean and cosy hotel with friendly staffs and i will definitely my friends to stay in there if they are going Chennai.

Good hotel in an OK area”
it's a good hotel in the city, especially for someone who like a modern decorating room. room size is ok for two but may a little small for people who used to stay in a big room. staffs are friendly and very helpful. breakfast is good with various kinds of food, good for someone who wanna try indian food also. all are ok except my room, , is right above the night pub underground. music is so loud and noisy until the late night..

The staff were very friendly and gracious when they welcomed us to the hotel. Wifi is free which travellers would definitely appreciate. Breakfast spread was good. Although the location of the hotel was slightly off from the city center, it is highly accessible as most tuk tuk or taxi drivers know the place. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Small Boutique Hotel with friendly staff”
small boutique hotel with friendly helpful staff. my room on the second floor was fine and i had no complaints, although the decor is looking a little dated, but overall it was very clean. however my travelling companion had a room on the fourth floor which was not acceptable because of the smell of dampness. unfortunately the hotel seemed to have a dreadful overpowering smell of dampness above the second floor which was a pity because overall it was a great little hotel, very conveniently situated for shopping and sightseeing. the staff were extremely friendly and courteous and the food was great. apart from the smell the hotel was good value for money.

Service with a Smile”
we stayed one night at spring. situated at a place where no shopping is not very near by.the city centre is about rs 120 to 150 charge by auto. staff are very warm & helpful. the room(201) was small but clean & adequate. the washrooms too are clean & fine. however our sleep was slightly disturbed due to the echoes from loud music from the downstair pub.the room is in a strip of land with no garden & roof is low which prevents the homely atmosphere. think it is slightly overpriced. recommend for short stays not if you are holidaying.

A themed hotel in Chennai”
The Spring Hotel is in a good location for access to places in Chennai and the service is quite good from the bell staff to the reception and the restaurant. These are the good points. This is a theme hotel and I imagine that if you like the theme then you may find the hotel interesting. It is based around the more contemporary movie scene in India and it’s not a theme that I particularly enjoy. Of course this means that the décor; colours and furnishings are quite over-the-top and the colours clash, at best, or are just inappropriate depending on how you wish to look at it. The best things about the room are the use of LED lighting and the bathroom. My room was too small with decoration seemingly done by somebody who likes shiny silvery grey wherever possible mixed with inappropriate brown and a clashing blue. In short I suppose it could have been worse but not much. It is hardly a presentation that suggests relaxation in a hotel room and I think that this is an important consideration. The room could also do with some maintenance. So due to the décor alone I won’t be returning but apart from that the hotel is fine.

Poorly managed hotel in an excellent location”
I went to Chennai for Visa interview for my family and decided to stay in Spring Hotel as it is close to US Consulate. I stayed there for 3 days and the experience is not so great! When we entered the corridor in second floor to reach the room, there was stinking smell all around. The room walls were all broken and pathetic. It was disappointing to see the condition of the room for the price we paid. I am sure you get very good rooms in Bangalore and Mumbai for the same price. The next bad experience was with the food. If your are craving to have Dosa in Chennai in this hotel, this is not the place to go. The breakfast menu does not include Dosa!!! The worst part is no coffee and tea! If you order coffee or tea in this hotel, what you get is 90% water mixed with coffee or tea powder with milk powder mixed in it! And that too using a coffee vending machine. I have the habit of having tea in the morning and i had to skip bed tea after seeing the condition for the first day Overall this hotel is not worth for the price you pay!

We stayed here 2 nights. Was in Chennai for wedding reception. Found the room was small. However nice and clean. Feel that the hotel needs better lighting. Appeared gloomy. Also wasn't too happy with the service provided in the restaurant while having breakfast. Although we were asked for suggestions, which was carried out the next day. Hope they keep up!!. Reception staff was helpful.

A youthful hotel with a great disco”
You will definitely enjoy the youthful rock 'n roll style hotel decor, and flashy interiors of the rooms. Don't miss the disco if you can afford the time, you could also have the opportunity to see Chennai night-life if you thought it had none. But definitely don't chose this hotel if you cannot stand loud music and thumping throughout the night.

Hotel trying hard but not nearly there”
new hotel in a nice central location in chennai. designed to be boutique with pinks and shiny greys and fancy furniture all around. rooms are small, no view but bathrooms are spacious. they have mostly everything that you would expect a good hotel of their category to have including in room safe, mini bar with affordable snacks, toiletries in bathroom etc. they served me with a welcome drink during a hassle free check in and had cookies and chocolates in the room. something not seen in this category of hotel. however the quality of cookies and chocolates left a lot to be desired. same goes for the buffet breakfast. huge spread but severely lacking the quality one would expect. service was prompt and smiling at all times.
