The rooms are very nicely built, are spacious and clean, and have nice view. The only negative point but a very major one was that food quality is pathetic and it is overpriced. Staff is not trained enough to handle food requests from their menu. Most of the hotels serve buffet breakfast. They based on they guest count cancel buffet and do not even inform guests. The next day they tell us that yesterday buffet was cancelled and you would be charged for individual items. Very unprofessional. Did not even give an invoice. Just a list of items on a notebook paper.

Not so great experience for us.....”

The location was great but there are absolutely no facilities. The staff is not at all trained and don't know how to even make a bed as they are just hired from the village below. There was no hot water in the room for even one person to complete the shower. We went when the temperature was close to 0 degrees and there was no heaters in the room. W even had to fight to get extra blankets as he didn't have them. The cottage was very beautiful, the bed comfortable, but due to the lack of some basic facilities the stay was ok. The railing was broken in our veranda and because it had a direct drop in the valley we couldnot enjoy it as we were scared the kids might fall. So had to keep the door close always. Food was ok... And again the restaurant was not so well managed as they didn't even have milk to make tea at one point. The taste was not consistent. Some days the food was very good and the others we had to ask them to take it all back and make it again.

Fantastic location”

It was a great place to stay yet again. This was my third visit. It's very peaceful and ideal for a couple of days of calm. The accommodation is in the form of spacious individual bungalows with private terraces. In summer the swimming pool feels like the top of the world.

Quiet and Tranquil Setting in a Great Location”

The Wild Retreat is so quiet – one of the few places in India where you can hear a pin drop. No traffic noise. Only the call of nature – parakeets and other birds or monkeys rustling through the trees. Relaxing on the veranda at the front of the picturesque cottage you can enjoy the plants and landscaping of the resort and from the rear balcony you enjoy a beautiful view across the ravine and the mountainside to the plain far below. And only a few minutes’ drive away is the impressive Kumbhalgahr Fort that is one of the finest and also the largest in India that you can spend several hours enjoying. In the other direction you will soon see rural India and its villages at their most beautiful. We wished we had more time to relax and stay longer. There is still work to do to complete the resort’s paths, the balcony and paving, but these are just the final trimmings. As they stand the cottages are very comfortable and well designed and spacious and even come with large flat screen TV and satellite channels. There is also an infinity pool we never got to enjoy but which also commands the same views down the valley. The only downside is the absence of phone signal and Wi-Fi, but sometimes relaxing is best managed when completely uncontactable. Enjoy the peace while it lasts.

Wild indeed with lovely cottages”

The resort is still not complete, the dining room is still under construction/finishing and the swimming pool was a dirty pond. It has 10 cottages but there was little occupancy when we were there. The staff is amazing, especially Bagh Singh, who was always there, attentive and responsive to our every need. The food is also wonderful, and was cooked to our liking. We took a trip to the wildlife sanctuary which was arranged by the hotel. That was disappointing since the guide and driver were not really interested in searching out the wildlife. Stay here to enjoy the view, the solitude and the amazing service.

Amazing location - fantastic rooms - great staff”

This is an definite GO, location is stunning, views from rooms and panoramic restaurant is fantastic, people very friendly. There is some work to be done, but that doesn't spoil the stay. Staff is really very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately when we stayed it was quite cold and no heating in the rooms. We'll be back!

This brandnew resort is situated on a hilltop with great view over the surounding mountains and the jungle of the neighbouring wild park. The bungalows are big, nicely furnished and decorated. Splendid big room, big bathroom with big window to the park. Restaurant isnt finished yet (Dec 2012) and currently you can get meals only on the room. The only one problem: hot water boiler is very small, so that only one person can take a shower and then you have to wait for upheating.

it was a pleasant stay at wild retreat.the location was nice and service level was good. the rooms are good with full of natural lights and nature view. Still there are scope for improving the other facilities/amenities e.g. intercom in the room, dedicated service desk, full fledged restaurant, signages to locate the hotel etc.
