Great stay (despite the incessant rains)”
We had a very pleasant stay at the Yellow Bamboo. Ended up here in July in the midst of pretty heavy rains and news reports of landslides in Madikere and other parts of Coorg. However, thanks to clear communication from Mr. Matthew of TYB about the prevailing ground situation in Virajpet, we decided to continue with our staycation. I'm glad we did. The property was lovely, the staff were very helpful and attentive starting from Mr. Girish and Mr. Salim, and the food was brilliant (kudos to the chef!). All in all, a very nice place to unwind, read a book and relax for a couple of days despite the rains.

Pricey for the service provided”
First of all the property is situated on the southern part of Coorg, which is not on the hills of Medikeri. It’s far from Abbi falls and other attractions in and around the hills. The resort is well made and nicely situated deep inside the Estate. It is well maintained and clean, staffs were very cooperative and polite, service was a tad slow. In terms of the rooms they offered me was of the lowest quality for the price I paid, there were far better rooms available. But then if you book from third party travel apps this is what you get. Try booking directly from the hotel which would give you a more competitive price than what these website shows, also much better room choices. These website falsely jack up the prices of these properties and then offer steep discount. In reality you end up paying more for a lesser service.

Not a match for the price ”
The rooms are big and the location is excellent and accessible. Rooms are just Ok, no interiors no plush look. We were happy with the food, except for the fish with blue bones, yes blue bones. Called the chef to clarify, he said it’s special fish with blue bones 😵💫. They probably sourced fish from vendors who uses toxins like formalin to preserve fish, which turned blue on cooking. Other facilities like the pool, pool side restaurant were good. The experience could have been better for the buck spent.

Rooms was big, but not that appealing or inviting. Interiors were ok ok. Felt price was too much for such kind of room. Food was good. In resort facilities were plenty ,.swimming pool was also good.

Worst experience till date”
It was a worst experience for the amount we paid. It was not at all worth it. I wouldn't recommend anyone. Do not go by pictures posted (hyped) as it will leave you in total disappointment once you step in. Firstly, basic needs were not met. Like the bed was so hard and had some kind of of square metal pieces all over which was so uncomfortable and one could not roll over knees on ease which was very basic to be taken care about and anyone would expect during their leisure or vacation. Secondly, leave the rooms they have not provided liquid hand wash even in the pulic areas of washrooms beside restaurant. C'mon, this was very basic. The room was not quite appealing and just like normal one. The door was not closing properly. The place was average looking and we could roam around freely and some play area for doing time pass. I must say they have maintained the swimming pool very clean and food was average not so great as such. But a lot of delay in delivering the food. They did have a fireplace which was lit for guests and food warm up with music which was good enough. Overall it was good. But I wouldn't pay more than 3 to 3.5k for this stay. Additional 0.5k only for the amenities provided. 😀

Location was Good But no basic facilities which was missing”
We made a booking for 2 days in advance. Therefore they should understand the situation. Meaning they were not serious about booking. No wifi, tv & no umbrella which was mentioned, the doors were not locking in ... Food was great but expensive for veg fried rice it was 270 rs.

Not a pleasant stay”
Disappointed with the stay at the resort. Had been last weekend with family including my parents. The cleanliness was extremely poor, the rooms were smelling (probably they were never used until we stepped in), found a lizard when we just entered, the towels were smelling, there was a single ac remote for two rooms (imagine sharing a remote across rooms), there was no sealed mineral water bottle provided for the rooms, the telephone provided in the room doesn't connect to talk to the room service (the call has to be routed through the reception), very bizzare especially when we ordered room service and had to update the order. Miscommunication on the plantation walk tour timings (change in the timing without communication to us when we ready). Even when we informed we had a 60+ family members, there was not a single sign of accomodating them at a lower floor, they were just adamant to give us the top unkept floor. Unfortunately the list just goes on...the good thing though was very very limited was the staff who served us food at the restaurant, they were very friendly. For the price this resort is an absolute No No.
