Tiergarten hotels & places to stay

The stay was very comfortable and close walking distance to Tiergarten Park. Also good restaurants not far from hotel which we visited every night. The breakfast was extensive and considering the amount of people staying, the service was very efficient and clean and tidy. The city was easy to get to on the Bus No 100 which also took you to the bus station to catch the airport bus. Concierge was very willing and helpful. He knew his stuff.

Came unknowing that this would be the perfect place! Perfect rooms, perfect location, perfect security amidst all embassies. A small little Gym with sauna an a small pool and a huge Tiergarten to run outside weather permitting. Love the beds and the sheets, the decor, really a gem and now i am paying a similar price in Oslo for shared bathroom! Should have stayed more in Berlin and skipped Oslo! Did not taste the breakfast as i did not get that option via Agoda and 22 Euro per person was expensive. No breakfast is worth so much not even at Pestana and I am not a breakfast eater especially if i plan to walk 20 km. A rowing and/or ski machine in such a small gym are a better option that the bulky useless staff there. Prefer hexagonal dumbbells than round. Some complimentary coffee in the room would be a nice touch. All in all best hotel since a while. Worth the money.

Generally the hotel is very nice, easy to get to via the airport. The local transport is good in Berlin and so this really helped. The Staff at the hotel are very helpful and speak great English and were able to guide us where to go and how to get there. The only area I would say is the food, limited to certain things. The hotel may not give out that it is a four star but its lovely to stay in and Berlin is a great place,

Ich bin so froh, dass ich mich für dieses Hotel entschieden habe. Sehr nettes Personal, super Frühstück und ein großes, sauberes Zimmer mit Bad und einem Tv. Ich finde das Verhältnis von Preis und Leistung ist enorm. War schon lange nicht mehr so zufrieden mit einem Hotel. Es liegt zwar nicht direkt in der Innenstadt aber mit den Bussen kommt man sehr schnell und gut überall hin. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt :D

I always stay here when I'm in Berlin. It's an excellent hotel, close to Tiergarten and right on the river with excellent views. There are a few shops, cafes & restaurants in the immediate neighbourhood and U-Bahn and S-Bahn stops close by if required although the hotel is only a short taxi ride from Berlin Hauptbahnhof (less than 10 euros). There is an excellent restaurant on the ground floor though service can sometimes be slow. The front desk staff are very helpful and will call you a taxi on request. Taxi will be there in 3 minutes. The breakfast bar is very comprehensive. A great place to stay in Berlin; highly recommended.

Very good as the room was large and the staff were helpful. The location was fantastic-it provided access to the Tiergarten for lengthy walks to the Victory monument and the Soviet Memorial and the many other great locations such as the Bundestag, the Jewish memorial, the Sini and Roma memorial (quite moving),the Brandenburg gate, and the most remarkable perhaps of all The Topography of Terror monument and museum-not to be missed. The Sony Centre was nearby as was the Church "St Matthews"-near the art galleries, the church where the German pastors Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Rienhold Niemoller were ordained. This Hotel is well placed.

The hotel is situated near the Berlin main train station (less than 5 minute walk) and that is a big plus point for visitors to Berlin. From its location, we could easily access the main attractions such as the Brandenburg Gate and Victory Column which is helped by the complimentary transportation pass provided by the hotel. The room that we booked provided a comfortable setting for our rest each evening, and the standard of cleanliness is something that the hotel can be very proud of.

The negatives were, we didn’t get the large double room with a balcony we had booked so accepted a small double with a balcony which was only €10 euros per night cheaper. I had to buy my own alternative milk for breakfast because they only serve cows milk. It’s not me being difficult, I just can’t drink cows milk and in such a cosmopolitan city that serves a huge range of alternative milk, I found this disappointing. I asked for an extra pillow as there was only 1 each provide but this never arrived. Postitives were, beautiful decor, spotless clean, it had a wonderful power shower. The location was very central to the city,

rooms are neat and good. but they gave me a wrong room the first night, second morning they nicely gave me a bigger room when i told them, but the bed was still wrong, i had marked on my booking confirmation that i needed a large bed not two single beds together, if they told me they didn't have the room which i wanted, i could understand, but they didn't say anything, and they didn't give me any compensation for the first night mistake. i dont mean i need the compensation, I only wish stuffs there can read customers' booking details carefully later.

I loved the Amstel House! Super cozy hostel! When I have arrived (Wednesday 18/09 around 11 hs.) was working at reception a girl super kindly! Was a perfect welcome! The kitchen, common spaces, bar and living room is super nice! I did not like just the beds.. it was ok, but can be a bit more comfortable. Thanks guys! When I come back to Berlin, for sure I will go there!

The best thing about the hotel in my opinion was the location. In potsdamer platz there is a new vibrant development with shops, restaurants, bars, theatres etc. Easy walking distance to the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. There are numerous tram, bus and underground lines to get you to anywhere you want to go. I will use the hotel next year on my next trip to Berlin! Very friendly family staff aswell!!

It was easy to find hotel hansablick after using public transport to get to tiergarten it was only a short walk from there. On arrival was greeted by friendly and helpful staff who explained everything very well and also showed us a map,of the area and where we were and also offered advice on things to see and how to get to them. The room we were given was very spacious and had a separate seating area as well as comfortable beds. All aspects of the room were very clean. Would happily return to this hotel

Wallyard is the best hostel i've experienced. I spent 6 nights in berlin; 3 in Generator (Mitte) and 3 nights in wallyard. Location was nice. City Central Station (Houptbahnhof) is 5 minutes away. At the end of the street there was nice little beer place. Two block away is big mart so you can buy from something to eat and other stuffs like small padlocks etc (low price!). Also nice little park is near by and good to have little picnic. If you plan to explore west side of Berlin, It's close from lots of places such as Berlin Phil harmonic. Room and beds was clean and nice. You will receive front door pass-code that changes everyday (Ask reception first). Also the key for the room is also compatible for whole floor you're in. Bathroom was large and clean and was separated for each purpose; shower, wash and toilet. My room was 6-bed dorm and was larger than other hostels. If you want lower bed, you better check in earlier than other room mates. 1st floor was yard surrounded by walls and quite large. You can enjoy beers or snacks and nice foods from bar in the yard too. Atmosphere is modern and neat. The whole interior from reception area to bedrooms is well arranged and not too much. Laundry is also possible at 6 euros. You can request for electric drying but i chose natural drying because the weather was nice and sunny (it was late June). The laundry took 1 day and came back folded nicely just like it was from mother. You might feel a little old fashined way but nothing was uncomfortable. To me, Keeping old way is not bad. Rather i felt it's own originality and soul. I think it comes from the person (the manager) who runs the hostel. Elevator is small but operates well. It's not rare to find a building without elevator in Germany since there are many old buildings. I give 5 stars and would stay later again!
