Fake hotel scam”
Booked this hotel, my gf who is from china called the hotel listed on my agoda booking voucher. The guy who picked up the phone organized transport for us. We arrived and the driver brought us to a hotel which was not what we booked. He told us the hotel we booked is fully booked and this is the only hotel available. We refused to stay there. They insisted we wait for their boss to arrive, who was definitely gang affiliated, some syndicate group that runs in yabuli to scam foreigners. We were warned before going to yabuli about scams but this is unreal! Complained to agoda and got one night refunded. Customer service officer of agoda called the listed number for the fake hotel to confirm it was real...??! How did his guy get a job at agoda.....
